Conspicuous silence continues... Currently it feels as if only Russia is interested in finding out what really happened. Even though no Russians died on board, Russia and its reputation is one of the victims of this shoot-down.

It was not long, however, before the public mood in Europe began to turn. A pivotal factor was openly voiced U.S. threats in a law that had been passed by both the House of Representatives and the Senate of the U.S. Congress that could eventually result in an invasion of the Netherlands by United States army forces. http://www.spiegel.de/politik/ausland/internationales-strafgericht-us-kongress-droht-niederlanden-mit-invasion-a-200430.html

When this was learned outrage was expressed not only within the Dutch government, but also among the population of the country. According to the law, if it should ever happen that American citizens are brought before the International Criminal Court (ICC) and accused at The Hague, Washington would exercise the preemptive right to invade the country in order to prevent prosecution.

Remember that Malaysia’s government had permitted a tribunal in 2011, whose judges in the tradition of British court proceedings condemned both George W. Bush and Tony Blair as war criminals.http://www.aljazeera.com/indepth/opinion/2011/11/20111128105712109215.html Some Europeans are asking if there could be a connection between the ruling of this tribunal and the loss of two Malaysian airliners.

Over one month later, and still no preliminary reports. The tapes with communication between the tower in Dniepropetrovsk (Kolomojskij's headquarters) and the plane are not made public, and ICAO is still not involved. Curkin has several questions to the investigation process in the UN, especially since everyone was so quick to blame Russia for everything with zero evidence.

By the way, when the plane with the Polish president fell in Russia, the communications between the plane and the ground were made public by Russia. Why is Holland procrastinating?

Russia seems to violate Ukraine's borders on a regular basis with such vehicles. This time Ukraine shelled them.

Where are the photos and videos? The U.S. Department of State said that the Ukrainian authorities were not telling the truth (mildly speaking). An armored convoy is not something that you can easily hide.

We are working to gather more information regarding reports that Ukraine’s security forces disabled vehicles in a Russian military convoy inside Ukraine. We are not currently in a position to confirm these reports

What will happen next? What will be the consequences of this?

By the way, were the vehicles empty and parked on the side of the road, or were they driving into Ukraine and Ukraine attacked and killed Russian soldiers operating the vehicles? Because those are two totally different scenarios.

The Pro-Russian separatists want a cease-fire now that Donetsk is surrounded.

Russia said it may intervene with a humanitarian convoy. Ukraine said that it destroyed part of an armored convoy that came in from Russia into Ukraine.

I am not surprised. Those in Kiev are not smart enough to even think this one up. Yet their Washington handlers are desperate at making any case, however absurd, that they can stick to Russia - after all, that was the main goal of downing of MH-17.

"Persons who have used the "BUK" can't be a local population, who have completed some courses. People who run such weapons should have not only training, but also experience of shooting", - he said.
"We have developed several versions, including the version that it's our specialists, who remained on the Crimean peninsula and took a side of the Russian Federation", - Yagun said.

Bloody hell, what did they smoke? Now they're suspecting that plane was shot down by the former ukrainian military personnel, who have been sided with the new government of the Crimea. %)

OK... maybe it is time to close this thread. We will never get to know for sure who shot down that plane. The US is not releasing its radar data and the Malaysians have (probably) found nothing of interest in the flight data recorder. So the MH17 is going the MH370's way, unfortunately.

Agence France Presse reported that the Dutch Safety Board which is leading the investigation into the cause of the MH17 incident was going to publish the first preliminary results early September.

So let's wait and see.

The hacker group “KiberBerkut” hacked personal  correspondence of the Ukrainian officials regarding downed July 17 Malaysian “Boeing”. In the correspondence of two lieutenants of the oligarch and part time governor Kolomoisky, as well as the new defence minister of Ukraine Valery Geletey actively discussing Ukrainian fascist AF actions  and how the local media should present the circumstances of the crash. Earlier conversations inderectly referring to the doctor who refused to remove organs from wounded Ukrainian National Guard soldiers in one of the hospitals.

Any news yet on the black boxes, how long does it take to analyse?

2 hours may be.... Probably they found nothing.

Why not make it public? If they found nothing that's fine let us be the judge of that

Nothing interesting was found in the voice records. If I'm not mistaken, the last words do not belong to the crew (don't ask me whose words these were, I dunno)... Cool

Khazanah Nasional, which owns 69 per cent of Malaysia Airlines, said it has proposed to the carrier's board that it buy out minority shareholders at 27 sen (9 cents Cdn) a share, which is 29 per cent higher than the airline's average share price over the previous three months. The takeover would cost 1.38 billion ringgit ($470 million Cdn).

This is outright cheating of the investors. Ever since the MH370 tragedy, the shares had been trading at 40% to 50% lower than their original value.

Before the MH370 tragedy, the shares were trading at 34 Sen to 35 Sen. After the MH370 tragedy, the value nosedived to 21 Sen. Even after the MH17 tragedy, the shares were trading at 21 to 22 Sen. Now the investors who had accumulated the shares at 35 Sen will be forced to sell them for just 27 Sen (that is a 23% loss).

Too much evidence from the plane wreckage that it was shot down by a ukraine jet. So they will keep trying to disrupt the area.

So the news gradually fades away as if nothing has happened at all. I'm curious whether the so-called international community and relatives of the killed passengers will let it go at that?
There is little additional information about the incident. The "case" has largely been solved as to what happened and who is responsible. There is really nothing more to report then what has been reported by the MSM.

I'm curious on what grounds do you consider the case being "largely solved"? Have you seen the final report of the investigation team? And if it is, why nobody of the relatives is going to court to demand compensation? Ukraine, after all its evasions and elusions, was made to pay out around $15 million of compensation payments to the relatives of 78 victims of the Siberia Airlines Flight 1812 crash...

Yep that is how news works if it doesn't get aired on the TV then where is the story its not news.
Anyways it will be interesting to see if someone will open the skeletons from this closet later.
Like it was said above, there is really not more news about this to report. This has not been front page, 24/7 coverage on the news but it is still being mentioned in relation to the greater situation in the Ukraine. Additionally, as said above there is really not anything more to investigate.

Technically people are still searching for the other Malaysian airlines plane as well so one or the other will be investigated eventually.
The other one is in a battlefield so there will be an update eventually on that one.

But Malaysia airlines got taken over two critical hits so can see why the company is bankrupting all that money searching for a plane in the ocean and then the Ukraine incident things have not been good for them.

Malaysia Airlines to be taken over by government
Airline is losing money and will be restructured in wake of double disasters

Malaysia's state investment company said Friday it plans to make Malaysia Airlines fully government owned, removing it from the country's stock exchange and then restructuring the carrier that is reeling from double disasters.

Share trading in Malaysia Airlines, which has lost two passenger jets this year, was suspended Friday ahead of the announcement.
