There are coins that die very quickly. But I don't think it makes sense to bury the whole market and most of the coins. These are exceptions to the rule, so you don't have to generalize everything right away. It's stupid.
I don't think cryptocurrency is dead. There are just too many altcoins on the market that are not backed by anything.
Digital currency will eliminate traditional ones in the future, blockchain technology has a reasonable progress, and the main trend is not changing for cryptocurrencies. It doesn’t change just because the cryptocurrency market is very unpredictable right now. In a decade people will enjoy easiness of transaction and payment which the cryptocurrency provides.
A lot of people say crypto is dead because of the downtrend that set into crypto since the beginning of the year. Its actually expected of those that are after getting rich quick to say that but for someone that understand the technology, its polite to say that crypto is very much alive and not dead.

This will continue until quick profit hunters come out of the market. The crypt experienced a very sharp rise in 2017.
Now miners are forced to sell their bitcoins to cover costs. They also do not let the price go up.

Today, the cryptocurrency market is young and unstable. Bitcoin and Ethereum are in a crisis situation.
Crypto might not be as lively as before, because the hype last year compared this year is nothing. But it does not mean that crypto is dead, to some this is the end and for others this is big opportunity. Crypto is not dead, it is a tough year but still we do have a volume in trading and even though Ico considered risky investment we still have an ico investors betting on cryptocurrency.

I think everyone has their own definition of cryptos and what they think about it, some think cryptos is all about the market side of it, they don't think about the tech, I think anyone that understands the space, will not think in that direction, because the tech part of the cryptos is growing and gaining more popularity, so i believe in the future when more people adopt the tech part of it then the market prices will go up, imagine when a whole lot of people start using ethereum network to issue smart contract?, the price of the eth will go up so high.
