Armory seems to use a very specific format, I can verify it with a mirror from brainwallet, but not with any other implementation.

-> http://wallet-2sx53n.sakurity.com/#verify

Can you post the signed message in the usual format?

Code:
-----BEGIN BITCOIN SIGNED MESSAGE-----
message
-----BEGIN SIGNATURE-----
address
signature
-----END BITCOIN SIGNED MESSAGE-----

Edit: Verified with armory

Proof that its a common format for armory -> https://bitcoinarmory.com/new-website-design/

Still invalid signature length.

Edit: verified with https://web.archive.org/web/20150513081028/https://brainwallet.org/#verify but it doesn't on other verifiers.

I feel awful for everyone involved. This is so bad for bitcoin itself in addition to everyone who lost it. I still will not believe it until it's "OFFICIALLY" announced by Trust/Mods, but it's sad whatever the outcome winds up being.
Care to tell me how it's bad for Bitcoin that someone scammed once again? I'm sure that it happens every single day. Master-P wasn't some god like figure and I doubt that anyone outside the forum even knows who he is/was.

I'm probably in the same boat: sent him 3 btc for an escrow between me and this user newflesh (also a likely bought account). Newflesh was very communicative before the btc were sent then completely stopped answering.
Master-P ofc isn't answering anymore either.
Had doubts from the start about this and I hate how I'm pretty much always right... ^^'

Will wait for a few days to remove or confirm my negatives but with very little hope.

Hey bitcointalk, this is the "original" or previous owner of master-P account on these forums.

I had sold the account to an anonymous offer in August 2015. Along with my forum account, the keybase account "masterp" was also sold as the buyer wanted to continue to assume my identity and provide escrow.

The private keys to the wallets I used for escrow were also included in the sale so the new owner could continue providing escrow as I already had some transactions/campaigns taking place.

I am signing this message from an address I used to stake back in March, before I sold the account and was not included in the sale since the buyer would have no real use for it.

The address is 16Ag7a28TfKwUQiUKcQuvTxATJM5khmX5p

I don't think I can really do much to help, but just wanted to post this here since someone on my steam friend list informed me of this situation. I don't necessarily partake on these forums anymore, and don't intend to continue.

I apologize for selling my account, in hindsight I see how selfish of an act it was. But I was at an all time low and I didn't exactly have much time to keep participating and help escrow for these forums anymore. The amount of money I was offered for my "bitcointalk identity" was enough to help get me through a couple of really rough months.

The evidence subSTRATA showed me looks like we will soon see the real master-P reappear with a different account and signed message proof.
How could you rely on a signed message now ? cause if it was sold back in august then the new owner was already signing through all of his keys constantly.
even priv. keys might have been sold and if someone signs then there is nothing that can prove that it's master-P or not.

though If something proves that the account was sold and with all under original master-P's control then he is definitely not trustworthy. He must have know that there could be a major scam with his account when in hands of the new buyer.

However i think there is more to it and concluding anything might not be appropriate but i just hope that the victim's receive their funds back.

Agree 100%, I think there's way more to it.

But he was signing the PGP messages ?
Well if the account sale indeed took place, selling the keybase account wouldn't have been much of a big deal

But didn't master-p send you a pm on the 24th? With a sig payment?
Yup, he did. I wonder why this time to "exit scam" . Sho seems convinced that the account was sold, he has sent a PM to all campaign managers who used him as an escrow

Ok so master-p account was supposedly sold back in August?

On December 17, 2015, 01:55:10 PM - master-P - password changed according to https://bitcointalk.org/seclog.php ?

All the coins that have been escrow'ed seem to be still sitting in their respective wallets ?

Mexxer-2 receives a pm from master-p on the December 24th WITH signature campaign payment tx's ?

This has to be one of the weirdest Escrow cases ever right?

I used master p myself and i have joined like in oct so if this news is true it will break my heart

Its also on the E-coin(pay-per post) campaign thread, you seem to be suspecting me (for something).

No no no not at all, I'm just saying it's ALL very weird is all. You're the one who posted the message, and like me at that point assumed all was just a delayed trip or holiday adventure or something. I had originally thought his account was hacked back on the 17th honestly, but for a hacker to leave all that btc just sitting in those wallets? Especially now, knowing they are exposed? Just WEIRD is all I was saying nothing more. Sorry if I offended you, wasn't trying to.

Might be a regular pass change.

Yeah, weird. I for one am willing to forgive the new account owner(if the proof is true that is) , once the payments are resolved.

I have PMed couple of DT members and one has responded so far, others, nearly all are offline. Philipama along with doog(if escrow.ms doesn't come up) are able to exclude him from the DT network if necessary.

With MultiSig You don't need to trust to the third party, to steal funds from the MultiSig escrow, the hacker need to compromise all parties involved, which is almost impossible.
Please don't use this as an opportunity to self-promote , every system is faulty in some aspects

I have lost complete faith in this forum.

Your problem was having faith in this forum to begin with  Undecided

Can't really trust anyone here, unfortunately.

It s very sad to know that one of the trusted escrow run away with escrow amount (as assumed here) it really has shaken my faith in escrow providers here and I am sure I am echoing a majority view. This doesn't mean that every escrow member is cheater but it makes everyone more cautious.I think campaign managers should use 2 or 3 campaign managers hence forth and keep small funds with each of them to prevent possible fraud

With MultiSig You don't need to trust to the third party, to steal funds from the MultiSig escrow, the hacker need to compromise all parties involved, which is almost impossible.
