Excellent news for the Cryptocurrency market. This step shows that the business is turning in the direction of working with cryptocurrencies
I agree that this is a step in favor of the future of the whole of the Crypto-currency. If the commission for transactions is reduced, there is every chance in 2018 to buy lats in Starbucks or hamburgers in McDonald's for bitcoins.

In current transactions, the transaction fees are zero. When you are going to paid with BTC , you have to pay more for the fees than your meal. I think, it makes no sense to use bitcoin as a daily payment method.

If that's the case then,  bitcoin transaction fees must be very low or the shop should reduce price to the food items they sell.  I wish, transaction fees should be less going forward. This would cause many merchants accept bitcoin as the payment and bitcoin users would benefit using bitcoin on their purchases. I recently read a news that one of Japan's organisations has planned to give salary to its employees in bitcoin. A great news right!!!

Does that even make sense with the current transaction times and fees? You are going to pay more for the fees than for your meal. Unless the fees go down drastically, it makes no sense to use bitcoin as a daily payment method.

The idea is great. But that doesn't make sense with the current transaction fee. And basically in this case,  we are going to pay higher. So if in case this is true, im sure that it wont work for me.

Bitcoin's usage is not practical in McDonalds. Transaction speed is low, and the fee needed is very high. No reason to use it for payments in the range of $1-100 clearly.

This could be a good news for the bitcoin user. But these news could also made us bother about so many things.  These could also create either a misinterpretation or a patronising manner for those who's not aware on it. In short, this could be a good news but can also face so much difficulty or deeper planning before it could really be implemented.

If they will accept it, they won't give you the change in bitcoin, they will give you change in fiat, they need to keep every little piece of bitcoin, if they think the price will go up in the future

That decision maybe to risky because the bitcoin network right now not capable yet to use for mass transaction. it will make transaction stuck unconfirmed for many hours. bitcoin need to upgrade the network to do that
One more thing, it may will required more fee's for smoothly transaction. Maybe sometime bitcoin fee will increase until 1000 sat/byte due on that situation.

Why not? Most of the people nowadays knows McDonalds , and it is very essential for bitcoin to be introduced in different country but the thing is are the people surrwounds were willing to accept it as way payment? As soon as possible? I think it will happened but not in 2018

It is possible to happen in the near future because of its potentials. But I think the transaction might gets so complicated. Imagine, you will going to pay a bitcoin for a certain meal then suddenly you will notice that the payment transaction is pending. I think bitcoin won't work that easy in paying for Mc Donalds meals by 2018. Many studies and testing has to be done before it work efficiently.

I am very grateful because McDonalds received Bitcoin in 2018, I just realized that now many are receiving bitcoin in other countries. it's really great to see the potential of bitcoin to be used in direct transactions on the spot or not.

What are you even talking about. Did you even read the thread? McDonalds do not accept bitcoin right now and I doubt they will by next year either. The thread linked in the op just goes on to state that some bookmakers have given odds for them to start accepting it in 2018. They've also given odds for other companies which are based on absolutely nothing:

https://www.dailystar.co.uk/news/latest-news/663538/bitcoin-coinbase-cryptocurrency-mcdonalds-big-mac-betway-argos-greggs-charles-schwab

Quote
High street favourite Argos is short in the betting at 4/5 to allow cryptocurrency transactions by the end of next year, with other huge firms like Amazon (6/4) and Easyjet (7/4) also predicted to follow suit.

Quote
Clothes retailer Primark is 3/1 to accept Bitcoin by the end of 2018, and Poundland is 10/1.

Even the humble Greggs sausage roll could soon be available to Bitcoin enthusiasts, with odds of 10/1 for the change to happen by 2019.

Somehow I can't see Poundland accepting bitcoin. You'd be paying more in fees right now, but as with all bookies they just like to try get people to bet on anything to take your money so don't get too excited just yet.

I ithink theres advantage and disadvantage on accepting bitcoin pay on mcdo. 1st the advantage is its more convinient cause you can eat using internet and also an code to pay them. No need for money and much more faster transaction. 2nd the disadvantage is its to risky cause it can be hack when paying or accepting money. The mcdo can be rob by the hackers so its much more safe if you pay cash and get alittle bit points or satoshi that add o. Your account. Smiley

using lightning sure its possible!

This is surprise for me that they don’t do it earlier. It is interesting if it accept bitcoin in every country. I haven’t read the article sorry. In some countries payments in bitcoins are still restricted.

What is more amazing is that Betway has not only limited the odds it is offering on Bitcoin becoming an accepted payment method to McDonalds. Retail stalwarts Argos are in at 4/5 to begin accepting Bitcoin payments by late 2018, while travel giants British Airways are currently showing as 1/3 to do the same. In what would be a major move for them and their customers, the all-conquering Amazon are in the running too, with odds of 6/4 being given by Betway.

bitcoiners@mcd be like:
me: hi can i have, a uum, baconbitburger with large bitfries, and, a uum, bitsprite
cashier: would you like bitmayo with that sir?
me: no thank you
cashier: ok please be seated, i'll have your food out as soon as those 200k unconfirmed transactions get processed.

if true, it is a good sign of widespread cryptocurrencies adoption, but, we've all aware that bitcoin won't be the crypto for this, and it has been mentioned why in all posts above this one so i won't go into that one
