that is the dilemma of some parents who have underage kids, as they can't look after them 24/7, and the access today is quite easy as 1-2-3, they can just rely on the teachings they give to their kids at home and hope that they won't go off course.
and let's admit that most casinos care for how much they can take in from their players, usually they will only flag down the account if they see big winnings and want to stall paying their winnings.

That's one bad scenario you have a kid winning a huge amount of money, he used his real name and not thinking that one day he can win a big amount of money, and yet being a kid can not have that amount, these kids will then learn to manipulate KYC, so letting kids play in casinos will not only make him addicted to gambling at an early age but there's a possibility that he will be exposed to corruption, kids nowadays are imaginative.

I came across an article How Old Do You Have to Be to Gamble in USA?. In this article, i saw that the minimum age to gamble is between 18 to 21 years. I wonder if the online casino do follow this minimum age for gambling.

Yes, the gambling sites have our age data through the KYC documents. Do they ever restrict anyone who is underage to not to gamble?

Yes, gambling websites may restrict or even ban users if they discover that the account is being used by an underage person. Depending on the ToS of a specific gambling website, a person of legal age is a pre-requisite in order for them to be able to gamble at their website.

Failure to comply with these requirements may compel the said gambling website to ban or deny your withdrawals at any time.

Quote
Also, if we find any site allowing minors to gamble, can legal action be taken against them?

As far as I know, this depends upon the jurisdiction of the said gambling website. If it is a land-based casino, then you may report this to your local enforcement agencies. If it is an online casino, the best thing that you could do is to report it to this forum for awareness of everyone.

I like how Poker is more legitimate in Connecticut and you can gamble at 18 instead 21 for anything else in the casino.  A proper game to play, respectable like Cheesy    In some countries you can gamble on the government run lottery at 16, this might be because the government looks at this scheme as a kind of voluntary tax and so anyone who can pay tax can also buy a ticket for the lottery.   Its still gambling but thought of differently again.  I even know millionaire winners who won at age 16 too, its only fair I guess lucky them Cool

Online casinos can easily be accessed and I think that teenagers below this age do gamble online because it will not be difficult for them to register and start gambling. At 18,it shows that you are an adult and should be left alone to make decisions on your own and face any consequences of your actions if they are illegal or against the law.

On land base casino,I don't know if the casino will have their own age limit at 18yrs. This also depends on the casino,it an be differ from one country to another or from one state to another. Anybody below 18yrs that gambles and win big in a casino that say 18-21 years,he might find it difficult to cash out his wins

Teenagers will always find a way to game the system and trick the platform into thinking that they are legal age individuals that can gamble on these platforms. You'll never really know if they're already allowed to gamble or not because they can easily submit fake documents or documentation that is bought online and then they're through. There are also some casinos out there that do not impose KYC restrictions because they are working illegally, so minors can also use that casino to gamble with little to no repercussions at all if they're caught.

As for land-based casinos, it will be hard for the teenagers to pass security checks unless they really look like they're old enough to play plus they have fake documentation that looks authentic to back up their claim.

and 18 years and over are considered adults, but it is important to remember that gambling can be addictive and can have negative social and financial consequences, so it is important to gamble responsibly and really think maturely and play maturely to avoid addiction.
I don't know of other countries but gambling in my country is strictly for people that are 18+. However because of the fact there's limited number of law enforcement agencies that will punish offenders,  their seem to be good number of under age children in gambling sites

It is very inappropriate for an undergraduate to participate in gambling because we all know most people that fall below those age bracket spend recklessly and don't know how to manage money since they don't have responsibilities, however gambling is very addictive and comes with many disadvantages that restricts an underage from doing it, most underage are not working they still depends on their parents for financial support and if addicted to it could end up stealing from their parents to gamble, it aslo has some psychological and other repercussions which might not be good for the mental health of some teenagers, however in my country the gambling age of most casinos and gambling sites is +18 and it seems good to me cause 18 years above is the working age and most teenagers that fall beyond this age have had experiences in life and are old enough to makes choices and determine what's good or bad for them.

Though KYC is mandatory in some gambling platforms, it is not properly enforced. Because gambling companies always focus on their business. If minors conduct gambling they do not take any legal action rather encourage them. If the casino platforms were to implement their rules correctly then this would certainly beneficial to everyone. I think every casino company should implement these rules carefully. According to the rules{21,18 years) no one under that age should be allowed to gamble.

In some countries, there are lower ages than this list, and the government doesn't seem to care about it because they are only interested in making money and don't want to involve in making their younger generations productive like the other countries we have the right now. It may be normal for others to hear it but for some other countries, these are not probably common and that's why they have these limitations to control the huge numbers of getting addicted each year. Since they cannot stop it and they also making lots of money from it, they just decided to lower the rate, which will make them longer to feel the effect of it.
Some countries allow gambling at the age of 18, while others do not allow it until the age of 21. To be more exact, these gambling activities require the ability to manage one's thinking toward it, which is determined by maturity rather than age. The current average age for gambling should be 18 because they are already teenagers who can manage their emotions. We should never over-care for or be concerned about these teenagers; they're growing and taking on responsibilities; caring for them will only make them believe they're still children.

Really it is surprising and a good reminder of the laws in America. To me it feels like this is one area where they get the laws right by being higher than European countries might generally be. 21 is a good age because I think 18 year olds are still not fully aware of all the financial traps in the world and can have their mind warped a bit by the actions of gambling. I'd agree that 21 is a good point to permit it, maybe even higher if you wanted to protect these younger generations who likely have more more productive things they could be spending their money on. Of course it's well known that casinos / bookmakers do not want to target people under 18 because it is illegal in pretty much every jurisdiction.

I don’t believe on the right fixed age for gambling because even a fully grown adult can still become addicted on it ans destroy their life for being financially broken due to the effect of gambling. I really think that casino should set a budget limitation for every players based on their financial status.

Some people is more cautious on younger age because they are still cared to try things and other are gullible to try new things. We have diffent cycle of maturity so it’s very hard to determine the right age for gambling.

At least between 18-21 years of age a person becomes an adult then he has the right to do everything on his own knowledge. and even though he has been allowed to do everything since then, including gambling, drinking, but today's youth doesn't care about age. Kids also now spend time online gambling away from their parents.  Because only one smartphone is enough to play online gambling and a smartphone is a common Daily tools for everyone now. So adults with kids find it difficult to control themselves from gambling
That's what you really have to think about, because it's easy to find online gambling sites and the way to register is very easy, even online gambling sites that use KYC that are underage can still do it by falsifying their identity.
so actually the age limit is just a formality because there are indeed many underage gamblers who are involved in online gambling, and are also supported by the majority of underage children who use smartphones.

If that is the case and gambling casinos do not take into account the age of the gamblers, then can we take legal action against them? They are allowing minors to access gambling which is prohibited in the law.

This is one thing that they should get from KYC data and if they do not consider this (age) a priority then why do these casinos want us to do the KYC. Also, I know that most casinos will ignore the age factor because they want that everyone should deposit and play at the casino so that the casino income increases. (the more people wager, the more they lose, and hence the more profitable will be the casinos)

Those who gamble with a minimum amount of money which the casino are not asking KYC, I think can gamble even if they are underage. Its kind of a way to get away from online fiat casino since they are obviously asking for KYC data even when you are depositing.

Who would file a legal action against them when the lawyers see there is a hole in this KYC law in crypto casinos.  Even the exchanges today AFAIK wouldn't be asking KYC when their money is too small.

This might be minimized when talking about offline casinos which are already integrated, but on the other hand things like this can also be tricked by online casinos and are under control, especially for local sites where registration is only via telephone numbers, for example or some gambling is done in the neighborhood.
Indeed, the appeal for 18 years or maybe 21 years (adult age) actually always remains a reference, but sometimes gambling always doesn't look at things like this because with several conditions where everyone can do it, including children aged teenagers who are definitely in a lot of scope like this and it seems that this is still an open secret in almost all countries.

one of the reasons why some gambling sites require KYC is to prevent underage gamblers from using their parents' money to gamble but nowadays children are very smart, they can falsify KYC data, they will only pay some parents to do KYC for their account.

the minimum age in gambling is almost difficult to implement effectively, there are many loopholes to get away from it, and one other important thing, many gambling sites also do not require KYC for their users.  It is necessary to intervene from all parties to be able to prevent under the age of understanding gambling as early as possible.
There are many casino that don't require KYC unless they are withdrawing a large amount of money or deposit large amount of money, violate their TOS, suspected on cheating or any other reason that make the casino flag the user for KYC. Given the situation that they do gambling using their parents money,  Doing small bets on known casino that don't collect KYC on small time gamblers will be one of the options of underage gamblers. Actually there are many ways to outsmart casinos pre-caution on under age gambling but I don't want to disclose it here knowing that there might a underage gambler who are reading this thread.
