By doing  trade in different exchange platform it depends on the traders which is newbie on how He/She going to start. Just start on the things what you can afford only. You don't  need to rush it to begin with big amount at once. Its not helpful if you do it,

I agree, if you start with a big amount in trading you will feel very disappointed if you lose that money. And being a newbie in trading that will start with a big amount is a very risky way. It is better to start an amount that you can afford to lose while you are starting trading. Once you know may strategies to it you can increase your capital and start earning some real profit.
But I always prefer to stick with small possible capital amount in order to avoid any unexpected big losses.

I learned this from my experience. Because facing losses in trading is most common and we cannot be assured it will not happen when we are having experience. It is always good to trade with small capital like we must do in gambling.

I will be using LocalBitcoins, if I have 0.5 BTC I can sell up to 85% of that in my own advert then the rest on another person's advert. Is there a way to make a profit this way? Or is 0.5 simply not enough to start with?
0.5 BTC is huge if you start trading, if you are a beginner or first trading better make use of 0.05 BTC to gain experience in the world of trading, experiences help you learn a thing. trading is not as easy as discussed (buy low sell high)

0.5 btc is enough funds for you to start to trade actually for me it's huge amount just remember trading is also a risk you will need a knowledge and strategy also in trading you can lose all your funds so I'm wishing you goodluck.
It is really a huge amount to start trade. When I was a newbie in trade and I was to have to start the trade for the first time then I separated some amount in an exchange and bought a pumping currency with only 0.0001 BTC and start to go with that and so on.
It is not important the amount that you should really start.
I started also in small amount of bitcoin with only .001btc, I believe you start to risk the amount that you can lose so you won't be disappointed if you did not gain for the first time until you familiarize with the market flow.
The other benefit of starting with smallest amount is that we can continue to try again and again without feeling any lose if we lose and in that all tries we once learn that where we have to invest and how we have to invest and on which coins we have to trust for shorter or longer investment.

0.5 btc is too much enough to start trading . yes trading is also risky but less only .  if you are trader you need knowledge and strategies to grow your bitcoin because if you do not have that your bitcoin lose . As a trader you to be focus of what you doing and trader also is good researcher .making a research about a coin you want to buy. Like me before I don't know how to start trading but look at me now I'm earning profit because of trading so be dont afraid if you are beginner you will learn all you need is confidence to start it.
Yes trading will need good strategies for you to earn some profit but I think if a trader is just a beginner 0.5 btc is a huge amount so if a trader don't know when to buy or sell he will lose all of his funds. He is just wasting his money if he start with 0.5 btc
yes 0.5 is a good amount of money to invest in bitcoin. and there is not limit of investment to start a business with. but if you a good trader and you have good experience in trading the you can really invest some good money so as to make good money in short period of time.

its better if we have more than 0.05 in our wallet to start trading, we can use that amount trading altcoin with btc or btc with fiat. but its should up to you, how much you want to spend your bitcoin to go with market exchanges and before you do trade, you need to think twice about the risk that you can get while you are doing trading.

if you really don't want to risk money when you are in learning phase then go for demo account , you can place buy / sell as you wish and train yourself without have to risk a cents , but the atmosphere will be different.

0.5 bitcoin capital fair enough to start i guess, you will not lost it all in one night however not just like when you gambling.

Small is not actually important but starting with 0.5btc in trading is not recommended especially when you have no good strategies or just starting learn trading because you will lose all your capital.

all you need is confidence to start it.
Self confidence is more important for our success always especially in trading we need it more importantly just to to withstand many losses and patient testing moments.

I come across many people who are learning trading on their own interest after that becoming professional trader. We can certainly say that they must have started with the possible minimum amount to get into trading. Because a big initial capital might lead to losses and eventually will lead to quitting trading completely in beginning days itself.

i think there is no limit for buying bitcoin. you can buy any amount of bitcoin, but still i will recommend you start will a small amount of bitcoin because in start you need to get some experience and after that you can invest a good amount.
Trading with0.5 BTC is the high amount for beginners. If you want to learn trading yes you can start with a small amount. Don't expect more profit in the beginning only. First, learn all the methods and strategies of trading. Once you become a pro in trading slowly increase your trading amount, then you will make a good profit. Trading also risky but if you trade with right person 100%, you will get good returns.
This is really a good move and also a wise one because if you are just a begginer on trading then the risk of losing money is almost 100% since you dont have really any idea on doing trading then starting on small amount would be the best thing because if you lost that amounts it wont hurt you much.

If you are newbie to trading first of all learn about trading and get familer will all the markets ups and downs, because trading is always risk involved in it those whose face challenge and risks will see successful returns on their investments. In bitcointalk you will find many sucessful stories from all traders who made profits with bitcoin. After gaining knowledge better with lowest amount like 0.01 btc think that this money does not belongs to you.

The way I see it, is an amount of 0.05 is the minimum amount one starts to trade and I speak to trade in online exchange markets with alt coins. If anyone wants to trade only btc to fiat and vice versa using the well known localbitcoins then a much bigger amount must can afford about it. Even more, must have time to build a positive feedback. That means first times must trade with minimum exchange ratio so as customers prefer him than others and leave their positive feedback on dashboard. Imho trading with altcoins is the most interested one even is the most risky.
i think there is no limit for investing in bitcoin, it depend on your assets. if you have a good amount you can invest that amount without any doubt and if you a little amount even less than 0.1 bitcoin still you can trade alt coins. therefore there is no limit for buying bitcoins.
No limit but if you are starter i will recommend to start with small amount of bitcoin since the value of bitcoin is not the same before and the price fo bitcoin right now is too expensive i just suggest that it is better to start with small amount so that you learn first.
After you are earning with your small amount you can start invest more bitcoin just to increase your revenue..
