Tried out Simplemining for the first time today with a GTX1070's rig. Everything is working good except that I can't overclock or change the power limit. Every time I change those, the miner reboots and all settings are back to stock. No matter how little or how much I overclock, so I guess it can't be the GPU's crashing... Anyone with the same problem on nVidia cards? Is there a fix?

try changing core clock and memory clock, like +10 at least,

That's what I'm saying, everytime I change that, it just reboots and all overclock settings are back to stock. Nothing changed...

Try +200 core, +1400 mem, PL 110 -- and reduce until it stabilize

Hi  Smiley

Has anyone with the 1080 Ti got the overclocking settings to work correctly?

We are having issues where one (only 1) card gets bumped in core clock after an hour or so in operation (from the correct OC'd value of 1960 MHz to >2100 MHz) which results in it getting stuck.

Overall with the 1080 Tis (using ZOTAC Amp!) the overclock settings seem to work somewhat unreliably.

Is there a workaround - like if we could somehow specify the clocks in absolute values through a config file or something like that?

GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX="net.ifnames=0 biosdevname=0 consoleblank=0 amdgpu.vm_fragment_size=9"
then sudo update-grub, reboot
it isn't worked for my 6 rigs.
Did you do all the other lines before that?
AH,   It s necessary to install rocm kernel?

Hi for everybody!

I have p106-100 GPU and flashed latest version of SMOS but all GPU give 2mh/s. I search here for some help and found this message:
i did it and know i have 20mh/s per GPU but overclocking on dashboard not working. On Windows OC i have 25mh/s per GPU.

How can I use all the possibilities SMOS? Anybody know how i can fix my problem?

Fan control + Core/mem offset is broken on 1080Ti : I have a rig of EVGA 1080ti SC2 and there is no way to control anything, the cards stay stock.

Do you guys have any workaround to OC 1080ti under smOS?

@Tytanick Do you have any ETA for this fix?
Impossible to use 1080ti with OC or fan control

Thanks

Hi everyone, i have 2 problems running this OS with nvidia GPUs (1060 6GB).

Problem 1 - no GUI
I download fresh image for NV GPU, and when i start it got only text terminal. How start GUI?  Running version for AMD GPUs GUI start by default.

Problem 2 - overclocking
How to downclock core? While mining ETH theres no need to GPU core run on full speed. Under Windows I set core for -400MHz and hashrate are the same like on default clock.  Negative value are not allowed.
And second thing. Is there a way to turn of P2 State. To OC memory clock for 500MHz , from 4000 to 4500MHz, I need to set offest at 1400, so GPU definitly go in to P2 State and drop the clock.

I heard that under linux you can not reduce the power limit of the 1060's (changing it on the UI does nothing for its actual power usage).

first a big thanks to tytanik for this great OS. using it a few days and it is really easy to use! i also managed to flash my cards via command line. here my small how to on mac.

- terminal -> ssh miner@ip
- screen -x miner
- ctrl+c till screen quits (it is really important that your gpus aren't mining!!!)
- sudo su
- dmesg -c (tytaniks reboot mechanism if something isn't right)
- cd /root/utils
- ./atiflash -ia 0 (if everything is okay, atiflash should show you some informations about your gpu)
- ./atiflash -s 0 backup0.rom (you can repeat this for every gpu)

now open another terminal tab and do this:
- scp miner@ip:/root/utils/backup0.rom /Local/Target/Destination (this will save the backup0.rom to your mac)

now you need to edit the backup0.rom file with PBE v1.6 https://github.com/jaschaknack/PolarisBiosEditor

when you are ready editing your *.rom just save it and upload your file with the following command at the last terminal tab
- scp /Local/Target/Destination/*.rom miner@ip:/root/utils

now your modded rom file was uploaded to /root/utils. switch back to the ssh session in terminal and proceed to flash your card/s.
- atiflash -p 0 *.rom

if you have more than one gpu i would suggest to flash at first just one card and reboot the system after the flashing process. check if the modded card shows some good results, if so proceed to flash the rest of your cards.

And remember, I'm not responsible for anything you do! Smiley

I heard Simplemining doesn't support NVIDIA gpus, is that true?

Wanted to try the OS out, got a couple 1060s and a 1070.

it supports both AMD and Nvidia

I have a 1050ti rig running like a charm on SMOS

only the clocking part is a bit confusing to me, but that's ok I guess
You can't overclock and stuff on Simplemining?

you can

here's a screenshot of OC interface
