nh have changed the minimum difficulty to 2^14-1. That's why all the inactive or partially active orders are now marked as "Dead" most of the time, and nh deletes them after a while.
I already tried changing my username to "+32768". The mining pool's overall hashrate then looks correct but my hashrate is zero and the shares don't turn up in my statistics. What is the correct way of setting the initial difficulty?
Definitely don't change your username - unless that is the exact username you registered. Otherwise the hashes get accepted by the pool but assigned to no one. The stratum protocol has a way for the miner to set a suggested difficulty but I guess with nicehash that isn't possible. I can bump up the initial difficulty if it's useful.

So  phil your low orders  are now at .2867

They show dead

 S #3396843   0.2867   2.00   0   0.0000
 S #3396837   0.2867   2.00   0   0.0000

but sometimes   they go live and then drop out to  dead.

yeah looks like I am having same issue as cassini

this means  those 2  orders may drop out at anytime costing fees of 0.0001 + 0.0001

so  I am not sure  if nicehash can fix it or mmpool can do it.

but a fix would be nice.

So far  it is 35 minutes and they have not dropped off.  3:20  was the start time.

I know you are my  rival

but I will do a test to see what is up.

I did 3 orders

2 are too low
1 is high enough

So what is happening wrong for you?

are the smaller inactive timing out?

I did hit the sixth one last July and got 0.055 btc Grin
The difference in the transaction fee reward is definitely noticeable from last year vs this year!

Certainly is killing me to see it happen.

But I am going to mine here.

What I will do is  wait  till after the fork  to decide how much to put in here via renting.

And I am sure the top guy will pop another block. Just to rub in some more salt.

He is going to have to end  the winner take all on tx fees.
Transaction fees are large enough now that the system will probably have to change. At some point transaction fees will be the majority of the reward and then the existing system becomes more like solo mining and less like pooled mining.

The likely solution will be to have the transaction fee included with the mining subsidy when the score is calculated for the share submission. This unfortunately removes the 'bonus' aspect of being a block finder though. Perhaps some mix of the two.

Yeah   Maybe ⅓  to the block hitter and ⅔ to the rest based on shares.

In my  case    over the last 5 blocks  ⅔ of 1.90 =  1.33 btc.

It would still encourage  the bigger miners.  And let the small  miners to grab  some of that pie.

So  I will do what you want it is your pool.

I am still here mining away.

But  with no merged coins  and my bad luck on not hitting  one of the last five blocks.  I did hit the sixth one last July and got 0.055 btc Grin

I am having a bit of pain. About those 9.5 coins given to the last five block hitters.

Block 474762 was found by user a5d78fff earning them an additional 1.70101753 BTC in transaction fees. Coins are now available for withdrawal.

I missed  the block oh well!

If anyone was to complain about not sharing  tx id fees it would be me.

the last  5 blocks  I mined about 20%  of all the shares and got 0% of the tx ids fees.

last 5 blocks the fees were

1.7
1.5
4.3
0.9
1.0
-----
9.5 total

So I lost about 1.90 coins in fees by mining here with winner take all policy Angry

MY choice.

and I am still mining here  with mostly rentals and some hard gear.

He is going to have to end  the winner take all on tx fees.

Philipma1957  and cassini    mined  77,000,000   shares  the pool mined 77,800,000

They say they rent the hash from nice hash.

So the chance one of them wins the tx id price is hgher then 98% at this moment

How can they verify that  they hit the block if they rent from nice hash.

The pool op can say  anyone hit the block

Not saying the pool op is bad  just saying    1.7 coins =  4000 plus dollars  with no verification possible. That is very tempting.

Lastly  I wonder who hit the block  it is 1.7 btc payout bonus.
I hope it was me (translates as: I desperately want this 1.7 btc bonus Grin ). The strange thing is that this was the third time I found a block just hours (and this time just minutes) after I manually added a single large-scale order at nicehash. My mediocre maths understanding had assumed that there is no difference in luck between mining 8 hours at 1 Petahash/s and mining 1 hour at 8 Petahash/s. Wondering if anyone could point me in the right direction as to where i am missing a non-linear component in the equation?
