Only coins that do things will be valuable.

That's the important point Smiley

Smart contracts are the future and Platforms that have the most active developers in creating applications
with significant utility for their users will have a bright future
Invest in use cases not just because of the speed and cost of using them. IMO

yes you are right, in the end the coins that survive are the ones with the biggest real use cases. and the smartcontract platform is one of the concepts with the largest usage, ethereum, bsc, tron, Cardano, Polkadot, and EOS are the top-ranked coins. they have something in common with each other, namely the smart contract platform. so if you want to buy a long term coin, it's better to buy a coin with a concept with a large use. it will remain valuable for a long time.

that's how the crypto world is, only quality altcoins will continue to exist in the market, the rest will be destroyed by time because they don't have updates for requests that occur in the market. if the altcoin cannot take advantage of the opportunity it will be left behind and eliminated.
Even though the quality of the coins that are owned still cannot guarantee that they can withstand the blows of these whales, the conditions of the exchange are not good and a lot of whales sell their assets and make the price collapse.

What kind of guarantee are you looking for? When a coin has been listed on the market,
the price movement will be determined by the market mechanism, pump and dump are part of that mechanism.
All we have to do is learn the mechanics of it and look for opportunities to make a profit.

It surprises me that in cryptocurrency market the users never learn anything from what happened in the past. Scamcoins and shitcoins have existed for many many years and in 99% of the cases these coins died out within 12 months of their listing. The methodology used by these scammers is very simple. They will plagiarize the white paper and algorithm of the existing projects and will launch a copycat project with a lot of hype in the social media. Once they are able to get a great deal of interest from the users, they will dump their coins. And after a few months, this cycle will be repeated with another project.

Let us not always look at the bad side of everything alone. We should also look on the bright side. I agree with you that most of today's coins will become worthless in the future, though you did not mention some of these coins. Can we also talk about some of these low priced coins of today that will be worth millions tomorrow? It is the same way that some coins will disappear that some that are overlooked today will also become super coins too. Is there anyone here with the ability to lead us to the super coins of tomorrow? This is what will interest me or others who are ready to take the ride.

Op, whatever you said i am completely agree with you.
Now a days many trader only greed for money and quick profit, so they are investing in these shitty coins and ignoring the stable coins.
But soon they will realise when the coins will start dumping rather than pumping.
I could rather suggest new traders always go for stable coins like BTC or ETH, this will give you small profit, but won’t give you huge losses.
Rest is upto other people’s opinion.

At this time many coins are surging just because of social influence of manipulation games and they have no development team to support the project in future and that's why they will surely crash no doubt. So if you have invested in any of the coins just cash out your profits or loss whatever because in the end you will be left with nothing.Stick to the top coins like btc, eth,BNB,ADA,SOL,DOT,Matic which have came up with new ideas and improve the blockchain the more.I have personally witnessed many coins going to zero level from 2017 ICO which I gained through bounty campaign not investing but still faced loss at that time also.So it's better to be safe learning from past.

Obviously, majority of the coins on the market will be entirely useless in a couple of years. Even those coins that have some use case but are pretty common and not that in demand are not safe for extinction. What more those shitcoins nowadays that don't even have purpose nor can solve real world problems or contribute to the world wide adoption of cryptocurrencies? But still, a good trader knows when to take advantage of a hype no matter how useless it may be al long as there can be profits. Other than that reason would he plain stupid.

if this year a lot of shitcoins start to collapse in price it is a normal nature because of the influence of the falling price of bitcoin so that it has a lot of bad effects on other coins but one day the price will definitely recover as has often happened. so I think you have to be patient when stuck in high prices.
conversely, we can also see how shitcoin starts to increase in value when bitcoin is in a bull run. but if there is a decline like today, a lot should also be red in the market.
most of the shitcoins can't even be sold on the market anymore because they've been removed from the list of certain exchanges. After all, there aren't enough trades.

To boldly go where no rabbit has gone before...
It has to be said. Its common sense. There are thousands of coins. Scamcoin, losercoin, Shiba coin. All real coins btw.

Yes there will be a couple coins that are very valuable in a couple years but the vast majority of them will be worthless.

Only coins that do things will be valuable. Coins that you have that are just there to hopefully go up on value so you can profit will be worthless.

Its like the dot com boom. You are betting on websites. Which website is going to get the most visitors. Most died.

These are all scam moneygrab coins with no real fundamentals.
If you want to preserve value, choose solid proven projects, not meme bullshit

There are literally hundreds of coins in the market. And it is very obvious that most of the those coins are shitcoins that will die soon. Most people know this, but they still invest in those coins. Just in case they get lucky. You either make some quick profit or you lose everything. Look at the market few years ago. See how many of those shitcoins survived. Almost none! Hence, if you are planning to hold long term, make sure you hold coins that are well developed.

Most of the new coins on the last correction of bitcoin and, accordingly, the entire market, lost up to 80% of their value. It is unlikely that they can grow by 800% in the near future, given the uncertainty that currently exists in the market. Even if the market continues its bull run, many of these coins will no longer increase in value.

Yes, only those coins/tokens with real use case will retains its value. While all others that only offers pump and dump opportunity will be forgotten. Majority of tokens in 300+ rank in CMC are almost worthless and with non-existent volume.

You're so right. A lot of the coins i got for bounties and airdrops in 2017~2018 are worthless now.I am so so so regred now, at that time some coins are still worth a lot of money, but now they just only can quietly lie in my wallet.

In fact this is already happening now it's just that most holders refuse to believe it because they think that the price will still rise for some reason.
Selling some of the coins at minus now by 50% will not be a bad idea.
It will only get worse.

In bearish market on 2018, I have seen a lot of altcoin dumped more than 90% and in this bull season, its not all of them survive and going to new ATH. This is according to their each fundamental and use case. That mean, to minimize the risk, always buy altcoin that have working product and strong community. Avoid FOMO and use stop loss if we want to buy in high price.

Exactly these are mostly just clone coins meant to make the "developers" more bitcoin that is all.  Like all schemes little people will actually make money but most will be fleeced to enrichen a small few.  Steer clear and keep most of your money in bitcoin.  Anything else and it will be just another sob story thread in the next hard bear market.

Unfortunately this is a sad truth. People thinks that just some coins are able to make a big pump so why not?
But it is really possible? I have posted several times when discussed about this argument, but take a look on my experiment below.

I have taken the first 1000 "suggestions" from this topic
https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/the-next-100x-1000x-coin-2106360 "The next 100x or 1000x coin",
(people here trying to guess/suggest the coin that could receive a big pump during end of 2017 early 2018)

Result have been shocked... at December 2020, after 3 years, I get following results:
13,18% Reported a positive evaluation.
10,83% Reported a 0 (total loss)
75,99%the others just negative results (prices go down).
= 86,82% of coins get a negative results or totally crashed.

(full post here https://www.publish0x.com/bitbollo-cryptocurrencies-blog/a-depth-analysis-of-bitcointalkorg-speculation-thread-the-ne-xpnnjwq )

I will run again my script just to check the price for June 2021 and December 2021.
Most of coins hyped during these days will have the same bad return Sad in a medium-long time frame.

This is pretty much experienced before, people that got in crypto currency market in previous cycles already learned that the hard way. There are some major altcoins that survived all those crashes and bear market but because they serve purpose in the ecosystem. We saw too many coins with big volume at some point died slowly, big exchanges gone, it always changes. New technology and new needs brought us new coins, most of the existed ones stop being developed. It's very hard to pick which coin to stay in ecosystem 5 or 10 years later. That's why when we put our hard earned money into crypto currencies we have to be aware of risks and don't put all eggs in one basket.

This is very true. Remember those eth tokens airdropped every now and then. They are now useless tokens sitting in your eth wallet. And definitely, this will also be true to most alts. If you are not careful with these coins, you will end up bag holder of worthless coins. So as much as possible, convert those new alts to top currencies like btc or eth. At least, the chance that they will still be here few years from now is very high. When the devs of the coin decided to disappear, there's no miracle that it will survive in the market.
