Verstappen is in the lead at the moment. It's an entertaining race. And so far very few dropouts. Yesterday at qualifying a couple had parked the car in the wall. looks like they're going to take it a bit easier this time around, lessons learned yesterday looks like. Hamilton is stuck behind both Red Bulls. verstappen 1 and Perez 2 would be the perfect scenario for Red bull

Congratulations Oliveira you made me lose to my friend. Congratulations, this is the first win for the 2021 season. My prediction was wrong, a lot of sharp corners didn't make it difficult for a big power bike. Today KTM, Ducati gave proof. Oliveira first, then Zarco and Miller. Unfortunately Marquez and Rossi crash, I hope Marquez is not injured again.

Hamilton was doing the best he could and Mercedes screw up once again,4.6 seconds pit stop compared to just a bit over 2 of RedBull makes this race easier to manage for Redbull and for a Verstappen win.Sergio Perez helped a lot here and I think the history of this race has ended already unless some safety car happens which usually does and changes everything.

I think Mercedes can improve a bit in the long lap tomorrow, overtaking maneuvers are also possible on this track, also will be an exciting race.

The issue Mercedes have had all weekend is that they can't seem to get their tyres in the window for single lap pace - but in the long runs in practice, they looked fine, and right up there with Red Bull.
So Hamilton's new low downforce set-up enabled him to get P2 in qualifying... and it should also increase his straight line speed, which obviously should make overtaking easier for him. You would expect him to pass Leclerc fairly quickly... unless of course Max beats Lewis off the line, and Max has been the quicker on the starts this year...

Have you seen the FP3 Moto 3? There is the name Indonesian Racing Gresini Moto3 in the starting position 1-2 in for start race . I feel proud. But is this the Indonesian team? or just sponsors?
I don't watch the race, I just read the news, Indonesian Racing is the brand from Even Management MP1 with collaboration Gresini Racing either. However, 2 racers aren't from the Indonesian country, Jeremy Alcoba from Spain and Gabriel Rodrigo from Argentine. I hope the company can bring the racer growing up to MotoGP next.

MotoGP today on Catalunya Spain, Quartararo still on the best grid followed Miller and Zarco on 2nd and 3rd position. Quartararo is defending champion on Catalunya 2020 with 40' 33.176",  when I see how he got the winner week by week for this session, he could make it better than last year. No doubt, he will be the champion. 24 points different from Zarco.

That's right bro, I'm a favorite for him to win this year. Although the race is still not over and has a lot left to do. It seems that Ducati is still the second favorite after Yamaha. But I'm a little impressed with Ducati, they didn't just dominate with one rider who did well. Almost all ducati drivers are the same, I don't know if their bike settings are the same? So they all performed well.

I'm surprised that Ferrari was so strong, I'm less surprised that Hamilton made it into the top 3. I think Mercedes can improve a bit in the long lap tomorrow, overtaking maneuvers are also possible on this track, also will be an exciting race.

I also thought that the race in baku would be a "normal" race again after the last race in monaco which is always special and it's results normally don't mean to much for the rest of the season. During today's qualifying broadcast, the experts said that the track in Baku is also special, as the asphalt does not have much grip, as it is just a normal road in the city and not a race track.
For the race tomorrow hamilton is still my favorite because in the end the mercedes is still the strongest car by far.
Hamilton was fast on Q3 which is the straight part of the Arena so we will see this season Mercedes winning those fast tracks as its one of the strongest point is top speed so tracks like Monza, Silverstone, RedBull  ring in Austria and Spa in Belgium will be most likely a Mercedes car to win,
while tracks like Marina Bay Street Circuit of Singapoore, Yas Circuit and the Mexican Grand Prix will be difficult to see them getting a podium those going to be for Ferrari and Redbull to fight for.

I couldn't watch the qualification so I checked the F1 official page in Instagram and when I checked 2 hours ago I saw the red flags and the surprising result from Ferrari.I think betting on Ferrari to win the race should have some really high odds which we can try for fun but the real money should go on Verstappen as I think he is the strongest contender to fight for the win.Mercedes is not in their top form anymore and this is good for all of us.I think tomorrow we will see a Verstappen win which will make the standings even more interesting than they already are.
What will be so interesting in the standings if Max Verstappen starts to break away from Lewis Hamilton? I am in favor of competing for the title, and not the total dominance of another driver in the person of Max Verstappen. The fact that Leclair wins the second consecutive qualifying becomes quite symptomatic of the fact that it can say that Ferrari is gaining back the gap between Mercedes and Red Bull in the technical part, and in some ways it can already surpass. All this may indicate that already this season there may appear if not a contender for the title in the individual championship, but a competitor for the title in the Constructors ' Cup. As I expected, Mercedes drew conclusions from the last race and at least Hamilton's car is competitive enough, which can also help the team to then make changes to the settings of the car at Bottas.

No big surprises for me at MotoGP, # 46 was very strong after the problems in practice and achieved a good 11th place.

Told ya Ferrari is strong where cars need a lot of traction, imagine now if they ban the mobile wings of Redbull and Mercedes.
From skyTV Ferrari seems the only one with regulars wings.

However about the race, Ferrari needs a miracle to win here, it is slower than Mercedes and Redbull, it could end in 4th position behind both Redbulls and Hemilton.

Missed the quali.

I missed it too, and was very surprised that Hamilton finished ahead of Verstappen. Apparently Mercedes ran a split strategy, trying Hamilton out with a much lower downforce set-up, which seemed to do the trick. It seems they're fine for race pace, it's just the one-lapper where they were struggling.

Bottas is a disaster as often happens.

He wasn't great, but I think that's a bit harsh. It's a shame for Bottas to be so far back, but this time it's not entirely his fault. Mercedes tried two things, one worked for one driver. I'm not saying Bottas would have qualified second if he had Hamilton's set-up, but he'd likely have been at least a few places higher.

Whoah quite a surprising pole for Ferrari, he got the god wake effect from Hamilton  Grin.
Can't see a competitive car for the win in the race, however.

It should be a miracle if he ends in the top 3.

The Q2 results are in for the Catalan MotoGP, the starting grid is set.  Here're the top 5:

Jack Miller took advantage of his Q1 promotion to take the second position on the grid.  He's looking stronger and stronger as the season goes on.  I think he really has a chance to challenge Quartararo for the championship.  It would be cool to see an Aussie take the championship.

Rossi had good results from the free practices, earning himself a spot on Q2, he finished 11th.  He'd have a tough row to hoe if he's going to challenge for the championship, but I'd love nothing more than to see him create drama towards the end of the season.

Life, Love and Laughter...
Missed the quali.  But I heard there were around 4 crashes?  And I also heard Vettel was going for his last lap at Q2 but then Ricciardo crashed and he couldn’t finish it.  I assume red flag.  But if was able to finish the lap, would’ve he had gotten to Q3?  Just curious...

However one thing I am not sure and shocked, Lewis Hamilton once again at 7th place, I am sure he will get better result in qualifiers and better result in race, but this looks like it is not looking that great for Hamilton at all, sure he doesn't really race that awesome in practice because who needs that, but it also looks like there is a chance he may not be at the top of his game anymore huh?

I don't think it's Hamilton - the Mercedes car is really struggling here. They weren't great in Monaco, but this seems to be another big step backwards. FP3 so far doesn't look great, either. They really need to sort this out soon, or the championship gap to Red Bull and Verstappen will become too large to bridge.

Update: Well, Hamilton finished third, albeit quite a way back on Gasly time wise. And Max sustained some damage... this might make qualifying more interesting now. Hope Max gets the car fixed in time.
So its going to be back to back Pole position for Leclerc.
The 3rd Qualification round ended with with chaos Tsonda crashed in turn 3 followed by Sainz locking and crashing in the same turn that ended the qualification round with another red flag.
There have been 4 red flags for the qualification so we will be seeing some crashes in raceday since we had a peaceful race in Monaco.

Okay I am sure we all know the fact that practice means nothing, it doesn't provide any proof that someone is good or bad, we all know that people can race literally seconds and seconds faster, which means we can see under 1.40 here as well, which is something we all know, 3 seconds is not impossible and it is totally doable on this track as well.

I do not know, we will have 2 more days to see if he is still good, or if he will have a hard time with Max this season or not.
