Marquez surprised me, he was riding well and get very good confidence at this time. He begins with on 5th pool position and can take the chance until the finish. Sachsenring Circuit not much has left bend, maybe this factor can affect to create his the win. congrats to Marc he got the first podium for this year.

this is the first win for marc marquez this year after he returned to racing again and by getting 25 points he immediately rose to 10th place in the standings for now, then by finishing in first place Marc marquez this time managed to defend his title as king of the German Sachsenring circuit because so far only Marc Marquez has been able to win the most victories at the circuit.

Sachsenring are a Marc Marquec (Honda) land, like his living room like Nadal at French Open.

I am hoping for a good performance from Rossi in Assen (which is usually one of his best tracks) and if he continues, I think the result in Assen will be very important.

What I don't understand, why didn't Bottas get the red tires and go at he fastest lap?

Yes, I don't really understand that, either. Okay they could keep him out while he was still ahead of Perez, in the hopes he'd be able to keep his place... but once it became clear that Perez was going to finish third, Mercedes has nothing to lose going for fastest lap with Bottas. They would have remained fourth in any case, it's not like they'd have lost a place, with Norris in fifth about a minute further back.

That's why I don't understand Mercedes' decision, the chances of 3rd place weren't there and there was enough gap to 5th, and he could have won a championship point for Hamilton.

Finally interesting race in Paul Ricard track. It was very interesting that both teams selected completely idfferent strategy. And both were risky. I don't think that Mercedes did mistake with 1 pit stop strategy. Hamilton managed to keep his tyres very well almost until last lap
Another bad race for Bottas (how many times I said this thing this season?). And another great result for Perez - strategy with late pit stop was good decision.
Solid race for both Mclaren. And very weak performance from Ferrari.

I am exactly of your opinion, RedBull's risky but successful strategy is perfect. Mercedes could not react anymore because Max caught up 2 seconds per lap at the beginning with the new tires. If Mercedes had made a pit stop, it would have been a classic undercut. Everything done right @RedBull. What I don't understand, why didn't Bottas get the red tires and go at he fastest lap?

Yes, Marquez is still leading on lap 28 and there are still 2 laps left which I think Marquez will stay in position 1 until the end of the lap.

~snip~
I didn't expect Marquez to win in Germany. I thought he would still be slower, but I was wrong. It's a shame that Qurtararo had to drop after the start, but luckily he was able to finish in 3rd position. Maybe this victory should be a warning to other team. It is possible that this marks a victory that will continue. With this victory Marquez will have a good mentality and confidence. Let's wait for the Dutch series Sun, Jun 27, at Circuit Assen.

Marquez himself did not even expect to win the race IMO and it was a very emotional win for him.
His last win was long time ago and today's race is like a sign that The Baby Alien is coming back.
Sure it is a warning to other riders although the chance for Marq for the championship is low as the gap is too far with the leader Quartararo.
The next races will be more interesting if Marq stay with what he has just shown in Sachsenring.
Surprise also comes from KTM where Miguel Oliveira finished 2nd (start 5th) and Brad Binder finished 4th (start 13th)

I didn't have the chance to watch the race, but I was only half surprised to see the results.  I fully expected MarkyMarq to bounce back strong sometime during this season.  And as per usual for Marques, no half measures.  He bounces back and takes the 25 points.  It's early enough in the season that he may have a chance at the title, but at this point he can't afford any mistakes, and he'll surely need some help.

Yes. They were over-confident, they thought they could get both cars ahead of Verstappen, and ended up with both behind him. They are starting to make a habit of tactical mistakes recently, which is quite unlike them. Probably shows the pressure they are under. We should also remember Perez's position, which stopped Hamilton doing a second stop as he'd have come out behind him.

yep they got an easy life until now.
They have a strong opponent and now they are doing stupid mistakes.

They are like anyone else, they got the technology advantage until now, but with the pressure they do mistakes.

Mercedes lost the race by themself when they called Bottas to box for undercutting Verstappen, doing so Verstappen went to the box and he undercut Hamilton.
From there they lost the race with the second box anticipated from Redbull and the impossibility of undercutting Verstappen again.
What a dumb mistake, Hamilton got tires left and they lost the race to him.

Mercedes has started to make mistakes with tactics too often in recent years, and if earlier such mistakes could be compensated for by the technical superiority of the car itself, now you should not count on this, because Red Bull is already better in some aspects and Hamilton himself admits it. However, given the qualifications of the Mercedes engineers, I think that the technical shortcomings will be eliminated and we will expect a hot fight not only for the title of champion, but also a serious battle in the Constructors ' Cup, where Red Bull is also in the first place.

Ferrari has officially stopped the progress of the SF21 car, the car of this year.
Since they have the budget cap, they will pay the money needed to end the season but they will save all the money possible on the next year's car.

This can be a big boost since RedBull and Mercedes are gonna spend all the money they have since it is so tight the difference between cars.
going to be interesting to see what Ferrari will be bringing next year as there is a lot a hype on the next Ferrari car, good strategy from Ferrari as they know they are not championship candidates for this year and they didn't spend on making drastic changes on their Power unit this year as it was the engine in last year.
the next race will be Redbull ring in austria. both Mercedes and Redbull will be a strong candidates to win.

What a race it was, man! Red Bull made a great strategy for helping Verstappen go for the win. And it really worked! As you can remember, Hamilton had the similar strategy and won the race by coming back from a long gap in the Spanish GP.

The last laps were really exciting. Hamilton tried his best but he didn't have much to do with those finished tyres. Verstappen got past him very easily when he finally caught Hamilton in the last moments.

Finally I saw a really good race which showed the drivers skills more than the power of a car(although car power was still there). The best drivers for me were Norris and Ricciardo for this race and Red Bull made the right call to go for the medium tires and to have a chance to win in the end which was the case.I hope Honda continues to stay even after the year 2022 as so far they are the only engine capable of beating Mercedes dominance.
yeah that last 2 lap overtake over Hamilton was priceless.
I have a feeling that Hamilton is starting to break, when his engineer talked to him in the last couple laps that Verstappen is 4.6s behind he got arrogant and he sad he knows what he is doing and leave him focus on the race. when he was talking like that i knew that he is not going to finish 1st.
Mercedes had a strategy but it failed them at the end because of weather was much colder then yesterday that made the tires deteriorate much faster.
that made them lose 1st and 2nd spot to Redbull in the final couple laps.

Great race for Verstappen..  And good race for the McLarens and the Aston Martins imho.  Go Vettel!  Finishing with points once again.  Smiley  I feel sorry for Bottas.  He needs to leave Merc and go back to Williams.  Williams has a good project for 2022.  They’ll be needing a driver with Bottas’ experience.

That was a bad start for Verstappen, he got away well but at the first corner it already went wrong, he should be happy that he is still 2nd and has not crashed. You should not expect such mistakes from someone like Verstappen and Lewis Hamilton is now well ahead with a 2 seconds lead, it will be difficult to overtake now
