Strong performance by Ferrari in practice 2 too, maybe they aim to a podium?
However the main topic is the flexibility of the wings and Redbull and Mercedes are probably cheating with the front wing, as always FIA does nothing about it.

@coinlocket$ this is a rare surprise performance from Ferrari because I wasn’t expecting them to finish so well in the practice, and if they can repeat this performance in the race then Mercedes will finally have a tough competitor. Furthermore do you’ll believe that if Ferrari continues to put in such impressive performances, then we may see them oust Mercedes and win the title is it really possible to see this happen.

Slava Ukraini!
Didn't watched practice, but I didn't surprised about Red Bull lead, but that Ferrari was so close was unexpected for me. How about Mercedes? Are they not competetive in this track or they're just sandbagging?

Yeah, I remember posting about Bitci.com and Mclaren partnership after first race of season:

Saw Crypto.com logo on Aston Martin too, but forgot to post about.
@Koal-84, I didn't knew about Tezos and Red Bull partnership, it's interesting. Seems that crypto sponsorship in sports become daily thing.

The new race weekend in Azerbaijan is going to start tomorrow. This is another intracity race after Monaco GP. But the drivers have many more chances to get past their opponents here. This time, I expect a solid race from both Mercedes drivers. And I think that there will be a good competition for the 1st place between Hamilton and Verstappen.
Also its not the fastest track around the average speed is considered in the middle, its not going to help Mercedes a lot since they have better advantage in higher top speed tracks that is why I can see Vertsappen have a better advantage to finish above Hamilton in this race.
But we will have to see how they are going to perform in the FreeOractice rounds tomorrow.
Interesting thing is that Charles Lectern have the fastest lap record in this track in both Competitions F1 and F2,
In F1 with the notorious Ferrari SF90 where Ferrari were presumably have been cheating with fuel consumption

https://www.formula1.com/en/results.html/2021/races/1068/azerbaijan/practice-2.html

And we have the results of the first two practice rounds. Mercedes drivers surprised me really much. They weren't even close to the first places in both rounds. It looks like we will have another huge competition between Red Bull and Ferrari.  Grin

And I hope this time Leclerc doesn't make a mistake. I really felt sorry for Leclerc in the Monaco GP. He took the pole position but his crash in the qualifying cost him the race.

^  Yup I don’t think Merc are sand bagging anymore.  Lol.

And coinlocket$, on the contrary the Ferraris could be RBR’s main rival in this weekend’s race if Merc doesn’t figure out the right tweak with their car.

Crossing my fingers for Vettel to get some points again.  Grin

Both Redbulls being first on both free practices for me means a lot.It means they are the top contenders to win the race and it also means that this track which is a mix of big straights and narrow strong turns clearly favors the Redbull which is the best car in mixed tracks.Of course tomorrow official Qualifying will show the true value and potential of the cars but I think it is a safe bet to bet on Redbull to win the Pole Position tomorrow.

Free practice one has done in Baku.

I don't think these are the real values of teams, Ferrari will be behind this weekend

Free Practice 2 has also ended and the struggle for Mercedes looks to be real thing and as expected Red Bull is showing strength in this one followed by both Ferrari cars,
Hamilton needs to do well in qualification finished outside top 5 wouldn't help him in catching up with Verstappen on raceday.
Good to see Ferrari improving still they are not championship competitors but they snag a podium here and there.

Why all talk about sponsorship, i think partnership are most important like Tezos and RedBull?

I hope also Tezos make a great step with this parnership. Use case is crucial for me, everyone can sponsor even if advertising is important.

Congratulations to Quartararo you are a racer who is able to get on the 1st podium for the third time (if I'm not mistaken)

Yes, it is true that Quartararo is one of the drivers who finished first since the race took place this season. This weekend we will see another race being held at Barcelona's Catalunya circuit and in my prediction Quartararo will come back to finish in first place again because if we look at the previous season he was able to be the fastest and got first finish at that circuit.

Yes, the general opinion is that this will be more of a Red Bull track. Hamilton has a lot of ground to regain after the problems of Monaco, and so do Mercedes... but this may not be the track to do it.
I think Verstappen should be favourite here, but it's not like Monaco, overtaking is possible, so we should I would think see Hamilton in second place.

Sorry I'm not as thorough as you, but thanks this is good news. I'm also not very familiar with Bitci.com and what the logo looks like.
I only skimmed through the Aston Martin and it wasn't on purpose.
Although I'm not very clear about the symbol, maybe because it's not the main sponsor.

Yes the have a different design, but i think Ferrari are not fast at each. Ferrari is the 3rd force this year. Toto always talks down the strength of the car, just wait and see I think Mercedes is driving for pole and victory again in Azerbaijan.

It is not so slow in the max speed but you are right at the moment they are the third force and they can fight for the win only on slow tracks.

Redbull should be the stronger team also for the next year keep in mind they just bought 8 engineers from the Mercedes squad.

Both Redbull and Verstappen have improved during the years, now Max is not the promising kid,he is a really awesome affirmed driver now with a good number of wins under his belt and I think he will win again in Baku. The track is a good one but the smallest error can cost the race here too just like in Monaco and the average speed here is much higher so extreme caution is needed.I find it difficult for Mercedes to win here as tires degrade really quick here and Mercedes is not the best car at tire managing.

Mercedes will definitely be stronger than in Monaco last weekend, no race in Azerbaijan 2020, but in 2019 the result was clear and the course will definitely benefit the design of Mercedes.

Toto released an interview these days saying Mercedes will be not the stronger car there too, and I think it is true.

Mercedes are very strong in very fast tracks.
Ferrari is very strong in slow tracks.

Redbull is the most competitive everywhere and Baku is a mix with high speed and slow turn, they should be dominating the game.

https://www.formula1.com/en/results.html/2019/races/1003/azerbaijan/race-result.html

And there Ferrari still had the more powerful engine.
I believe Red Bull is a lot better in Baku compared to mercedes and that is what weird about the results in the past. Reason is that their "turns" are better than mercedes but their straight line race is slower, which means in places like monaco or baku or other places like that Red Bull should be doing much better than Mercedes. Just because Mercedes did better in the past doesn't mean that they will keep doing better neither, that was just in the past.

Plus let's face it we are watching something that could be changed in a single moment, we could see Hamilton or Verstappen finish 7th, we saw it literally just last grand prix, nothing is guaranteed here. I am saying it will probably be Hamilton first and Verstappen second, either Bottas or if he keeps the good run going maybe even Norris at third, the other on fourth. That looks like the 99% possible situation unless something unexpected happens.

Red Bull has definitely gotten better compared to the last two years, we'll see if it is enough this weekend. In any case, I hope that Max is competitive and can win. Nobody needs such world championships as in previous years.
