@ingiltere, thanks for sharing these photos! Do you know what year car Alpha Tauri are using for this exhibition? Because as I know they can't use current cars for these things. So, it should be old Toro Rosso in Alpha Tauri colors.

I couldn't find any info about that but you are probably right. They wouldn't use main racing car for a promo drive.

İstanbul Park atmosphere is great. Today started really good. Red Bull did well but it's just the practice. This weekend will be so much fun!

They are now already a lot quicker then the morning session. At the moment the fastest is 1.28.330 and now everyone is running on the Soft tyres so I expect that the will be even quicker.

Toto Wolff saying "Ferrari will sacrifice 2021 too, is hard for them to come back. They will rebuild the tech division and they will come back in 2022"

It's not just Toto saying it. Ferrari have said so themselves, and have brought in a new designer specifically to focus on 2022.

The reason that they have no chance (or very little chance) in 2021 is that the Covid pandemic pushed the rule changes back a year to 2022, and means that next year has only very limited and restricted development permitted. All teams are limited in the changes they can make for 2021, and given that Ferrari are so far behind this year, it seems unlikely given those constraints that there is any possibility they can catch up.
The other side of this is the speculation about whether Hamilton will sign a new contract - the development limits next year means he's likely to have the best car again, and a clear run at an 8th world title... surely he'd not turn down that chance.

I'm happy that my country is on the MotoGP calendar for next season. Even though I don't really understand that the Mandalika Circuit is included in the reserve venue in the temporary schedule published by Dorna Sports, with the status subject to homologation. Indeed, currently this circuit is still under construction and targeted for completion in 2021. In addition, I also heard that Dorna will review it in February 2021 and I hope to pass. The news from Mandalika's management has also made a 10-year contract with Dorna. The following is an illustration of the Mandalika Circuit from one of the local media in my country.

Looks nice the track at Indonesia also the location are very nice  Cool. To the covid tests at the MotoGP already i don't trust the test see as example Rossi that's already a farce. One day negativ, next day positive the day after negativ...

Quote
Having initially tested positive again last Tuesday, Rossi cleared the other tests he had to take and was able to take part in the European Grand Prix last weekend.

However, on Tuesday having returned home to Italy Rossi tested “positive with a very low viral load” and was recommended by doctors to take another two tests.

The first one take on Wednesday returned a negative result on Thursday, with his next one taken this morning also returning negative.

Rossi has now been cleared to take part in this weekend’s Valencia GP alongside his crew after they cleared all the relevant tests.

Wondering top 3.

Even Vettel was at #5. Don't know what Ferrari did, but it works.

@aesma, it would be interesting to see Grosejean in IndyCar. I like this racing series, often it's much more exciting and unpredictable than F1.
Few days ago I read that only driver who messaged Grosejan after news about exit from Haas was Russel. I felt a bit sad for Romain.
Turn 8 with 4 apexes is one of greatest and most challenging turns in current F1, together with Parabolica and Eau Rouge. So much G-force!

Turn 8 looks nice. Free practice will start within 20 minutes from now. Let's see how the teams/drivers will do on this track.

beautiful circuit. I also hope that the Mandalika circuit can pas the certification and can participate in the MotoGP 2021 calendar, the kind of street circuit that adopted in mandalika will be more challenging than the usual circuit and will make this competition even more tight and interesting.
and in my opinion, having the mandalika will make the competition more refreshing and make this competition even fresher.

After many years I am very excited that we will follow the Formula 1 race in Turkey again. Only a few hours left for the organization to begin. Istanbulpark is a very technical track and needs to be studied well. As many drivers will be racing at this track for the first time, we can see a surprising result. Maybe track can be slippery Smiley

Turn 8 back for 2020!

Hulk will race? Who got Covid again? Cheesy I red that Grosjean missed his flight to Istanbul, so maybe Hulkenberg is waiting for another chance to race Cheesy.
Seriously, like always, Hamilton is huge favorite, while Bottas and Verstappen will fight for 2nd place. Unless something extraordinary will happen.

I didn't see any news about who got covid again. He probably replace Lance Stroll again? All F1 and sports news sites say he will race again in İstanbul after all these years.

Scuderia AlphaTauri and Red Bull pilots made a commercial photo shoot playing backgammon in Bosphorus. Cheesy

Gasly against Albon, funny !

Grosjean just got a third kid, might explain why he missed his flight. Congrats to him. Apparently he's looking at joining Indycar.

He doesn't even need to win. All he needs is to finish within 7 points of Bottas. So if Bottas wins the race and Ham comes second, he's champion (provided Bottas doesn't get fastest lap).

Yes he doesn't need to finish first, what I meant was Hamilton will declare his new championship as long as he finishes this race without having a big trouble.

Alpha Tauri car broke down at the street in show drive, tow truck came to save them. Cheesy

If Hamilton wins he will also guaranteed to be the champion of the season.

He doesn't even need to win. All he needs is to finish within 7 points of Bottas. So if Bottas wins the race and Ham comes second, he's champion (provided Bottas doesn't get fastest lap).
Ham is 85 points ahead with 4 races left.
There will be max 78 points available for the final 3 races (win + fastest lap).
So long as Ham is at least 78 ahead after Turkey, he is champion again.

16 of 21 pilots race first time in İstanbul Park. Hamilton, Vettel, Perez, Raikkonen and Hulkenberg raced 9 years ago. This would be interesting and so hard to predict who will win.
Lewis Hamilton is a natural favorite but we might see a surprise winner this time. If Hamilton wins he will also guaranteed to be the champion of the season.

I don't think we must think about the winner, it's a track where engine power is required with a lot of full throttle than the Mercedes will probably not be beat here again if no defect occurs.

I hadn't realized it was so long since we raced there. The current cars will break records on this track, it will be hard on the engines though, so much of it is at full throttle. Maybe some tire problems too.

Mercedes expects that they will be about 4 seconds faster than 2011 and the tire load will increase by 50%.

One thing is for sure here.Zero wins for Mercedes in this track as they started winning in 2014 so it would be Mercedes first win here as a team of their own,McLaren Mercedes won back in 2005 with Kimmi Raikonnen.Mercedes has less data than other teams who have raced here before so that might be an advantage to other teams.Still Mercedes engine is the strongest and is the nr one contender for the race win.
