I honestly don't think Hamilton can retire in the next two or three years, he is the only driver in the right position to enter the myth and stay there for many years.
He is the only driver who can currently reach and beat the legend of Micheal Schumacher and I believe he will try until he has the chance to do so.

Different speech for Sebastian now his chances of reaching and beating Michael are extremely low.
At the moment Hamilton can only reach Schumacher in the Mercedes, you have to see what will happen in the future with the new cars.

Then I also think that Lewis's seat will be taken by Max when Lewis decides to stop.

^  So if Verstappen did leave for Merc cos let's say Hamilton did retire, who replaces Verstappen at RBR?  Albion then promote one of the Toro Rosso drivers?  I find that highly unlikely.  It has to be a Vettel home coming.

I also think that Vettel may skip the year 2021 or he can join a weaker team.We saw Alonso a great champion driving for a pathetic Mclaren Honda in 2015 and we all saw the results.I don’t think Vettel would want to repeat something like that for driving for a weaker team as a driver can’t do much when the car does not respond.

Big day big disappointment so far, Hamilton is not going to Ferrari.

Riccardo
Renault <-> Mclaren

Sains
McLaren <-> Ferrari

Sainz is not a bad driver but I don't think he got the factor "x" to be a champion, let's see...

I don't think Ferrari wants two "champions" drivers, one two much in this team...

It all depends on the driver.
They are both young but Carlos is older than Charles and we know that when you are young it is difficult to submit to an even younger one, perhaps this is also the reason why Ferrari made him a contract of only 24 months.
As for Mercedes, it is true that Toto wants to leave!
He already wanted to do it this year but at this point, he will probably do it with the revolution of the cars and the expire of Hamilton's contract.
The question we need to ask ourselves now is where does Vettel go?

Ferrari NO.
RedBull NO, they have Max for already 40m € / year they can't pay another one the same salary
McLaren NO, they have Norris and Riccardo

For his salary, I can't see how he can join
Williams NO
Haas NO
Alfra Romeno NO
Alpha Tauri NO

Remains only
Mercedes? Hamilton will expire this year like Vettel but the only car where he can join is Ferrari IMHO and now Ferrari will have LeClerc and Sainz for 2 Years
Racing point aka Mercedes v2
Renault

The most probable is Renault or he will skip 1 year.

I mean the same for Vettel, Mercedes or a break for one year. But would Hamilton want Vettel in the team? And Bottas? For Renault Vettel is to expensive i think.

So Ferrari decided that Leclerc is the No.1 driver in the team.
I think that all fans now wait to see where Vettel is going to end up now that he is kicked from Ferrari.

He deserves it after being at the same level if not better than Vettel in his first season at Ferrari.I was expecting Vettel at Mclaren but Riccardo nevertheless is also a good driver.I don’t think he has that extra mile needed to bring Mclaren back to the title even if they make a really good car for the 2021 season but let’s see.

Well, ok. But Vettel has won so many championships, thus you cannot throw him away in such a way.
I don't think that Vettel is going to return to Red Bull as they have Max and he is pretty good. Maybe he is going to sign for Alfa Romeo and drive along with Raikkonen - it will be pretty fun to see them together.
He won't return to Red Bull - he is just too expensive for them. He also declined to join Mclaren - he want to race for championship contender. So, Renault or Alfa Romeo shouldn't be even considered. https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.republicworld.com/amp/sports-news/other-sports/sebastian-vettel-consider-mercedes-not-mclaren-as-final-option-f1-news.html
Hamilton and Bottas contracts expire in 2021, it's likely that Totto Wolf may left team too. So, there may be big changes in Mercedes and it's likely that Seb will join them.
Also, I would call Sainz as obvious second driver. Leclerc also had to be 2nd initially, but we see how it ended.

Bet on it 😂😂 i think tomorrow are officially that Vettel and Sainz change the Team 😉.

And normally RBR relies on young drivers!?

Vettel is the special one.  Grin  But I think you would win the bet if we did it.

So...  Reading LTU's post, Leclerc will be the dude at Ferrari and what now for Hamilton?  Retirement?  Ooooo I think so.  Verstappen gets his seat.

*Still crossing fingers for Vettel home coming*

Edit:  It could also be:  Hamilton home coming to help the team.  OMG YES PLEASE!!!

Hamilton is not going to Ferrari.

Dam shame, all the greats should drive for Ferrari at least one season.   Did they decide at 35 he is too old to start there as it might take a few years.   I would not rate Sainz a better choice (I remember his father and that name as a great in WRC) but he is alot younger with alot more leeway especially with the present day hijacked by this virus; perhaps they think he is more of an asset to develop alongside the car into a championship win.

Daniel Ricciardo signed multiple year deal with Mclaren and will replace Carlos Sainz from 2021
Though it was announced officially yet, now there is no doubts that Sainz will move to Ferrari.
I'm happy for Ricciardo, Mclaren is much better option than Renault.
Now there is another big question left open - where Vettel will go?

^  Lel.  I don't think Vettel will ever move to McLaren unless it was double his salary.  Cheesy  He's always been a winner at heart and I bet he's dyyiing to get another championship under his belt.  It would've been sweet for him if he did it with Ferrari.

Anyway..  Anybody wanna bet against me?  I say Vettel goes back to RBR next season.  My 10 for your 30.  But if he takes a sabbatical, the bet is off.

I don't think that RBR will Vettel back, that's very difficult when you have two alpha racer in the team, i think that's not what helmut marko and christian horner want.

But for the fans it can be good, like Prost and Senna at McLaren Honda or Hamilton and Rosberg✌

You wanna bet on it then?

And no...  I think the cancellation of some races this year could've activated a clause on Verstappen's contract under technicality, making him eligible to transfer to another team.

What would be good for fans really would be a home coming for Vettel imo.

According to Motorsport.com, Carlos Sainz will replace Vettel in Ferrari and they will announce about this week.
I like Carlos, he had good season at Mclaren, but after Vettel, it looks like big downgrade.
Ricciardo - as I understand, he didn't agree to be second driver.
Hamilton - it would be very interesting, but I don't expect such move.
Giovinazzi - c'mon, he barely can compete with old Kimi, what would he do in Ferrari?
Mick Shumacher - too early probably, he haven't achieved anything significant in F2 yet.
How about Alonso Cheesy? Would be interesting, but I'm a bit sceptical about him.
Where Vettel will go? Red Bull - why not? Mercedes - only if Hamilton will move to Ferrari. And maybe it's possible that Seb will decide to leave F1.

So in the end, what I told you a couple of months ago could not be a feasible thing now.

Months ago I told you that Hamilton could leave Mercedes to go to Ferrari and today a small step in this direction has been done.

I remind you that we have gone through other steps in these months.

Lewis's contract expires later this year as does Vettel.
Today Ferrari and Vettel have announced the divorce.
Hamilton in the winter released an interview in which he claimed to have already spoken to Ferrari for a possible change of team.
LeClerc gave an interview a couple of months ago they say "it would be nice to race with Hamilton", this made me think a lot about the possible exchange between Ferrari and Mercedes very likely.

Looking only at salaries, Ferrari could afford him anyone, this is the current ranking

Code:
Lewis Hamilton Mercedes €50,000,000
Sebastian Vettel Ferrari €40,000,000
Max Verstappen Red Bull € 40,000,000
Daniel Ricciardo Renault €18,000,000
Charles Leclerc Ferrari €9,000,000
Valtteri Bottas Mercedes €7,500,000
Kimi Raikkonen Alfa Romeo €4,000,000
Carlos Sainz         McLaren €3,500,000
Sergio Perez         Racing Point €3,000,000
Esteban Ocon Renault €1,500,000
Alexander Albon Red Bull €1,200,000
Lance Stroll         Racing Point €1,000,000
Romain Grosjean Haas €1,000,000
Kevin Magnussen Haas €1,000,000
Pierre Gasly         Toro Rosso €400,000
Lando Norris         McLaren €400,000
Daniil Kvyat         Toro Rosso €275,000
Antonio Giovinazzi Alfa Romeo €200,000
George Russell Williams €200,000
Nicholas Latifi    Williams /

List here: https://www.money.it/Stipendi-piloti-Formula-1-2020-classifica

As Italian my hopes are for

Hamilton, Riccardo Tier 1
Norris, Sains Tier 2

I hope they will never take Giovinazzi cause he is Italian, other drivers are stronger IMHO.
