France F1 GP has been canceled, the target is to run 15 races in the second half of the year.

Do you know if some GPs are homologated to reverse tracks?
Even in such ocassion, I won't miss French GP much, it was so boring.
It's difficult to find which F1 tracks can be used in reverse, so probably there is only few such tracks. Mainly tgere is talks about Silverstone, but even they aren't licensed to held race in reverse track.

This is true. French GP is not so exciting.
The track doesn't provide good catches and overcomes of drivers making it boring to watch.
The Spa GP is my favorite and I hope it will not be canceled.

I saw a few hours ago in F1 official Instagram page the breaking news that all Silverstone races will be held and run without fans. For me this is great news as it seems finally we are going to start this season first race and I think it will be in July the time where Silverstone Gp is always raced.

Statement from F1 CEO Chase Carey: Target is to begin season in Austria on July 5

We’re targeting a start to racing in Europe through July, August and beginning of September, with the first race taking place in Austria on 3-5 July weekend. September, October and November, would see us race in Eurasia, Asia and the Americas, finishing the season in the Gulf in December with Bahrain before the traditional finale in Abu Dhabi, having completed between 15-18 races.

We will publish our finalised calendar as soon as we possibly can.

Saison starts official at Austria, the rumors comes true. So only 2 months to wait. Next starts target i think are MotoGP also at July.

@Koal-84 thanks for providing the official update, and finally now the wait time is reduced to only only two months which should be really exciting news for all the F1 fans out here. However what bothers me is will these races yet be entertaining without the fans, even though I understand why they can’t allow fans in so soon hence what do you’ll think will the absence of fans have any impact on these races, or there will be no impact and the races will yet be entertaining?.

Why you think that's difficult to find tracks for reverse races?
Because I tried to find information about such tracks and didn't managed to do it. Only found this article, but it requires paid subscription to read it:
https://www.motorsport.com/f1/news/reverse-track-layouts-analysis-silverstone/4777399/
I think that most current tracks would be unsafe to use in reverse because they don't have things like safety zones or run-offs if some accident will happen.

To DTM, so i think the DTM is dead after 2020, after Mercedes, Aston Martin also AUDI left the DTM after 2020... Only with one manufacturer BMW the races are very boring more than the last years  Tongue

Today Helmut Marko from Red Bull F1 team talk about 2 races in the radio at 5 and 12 July at Spielberg, and think that's all possible for the start in the Formula 1 saison.

But i don't know how good this is for the sport, 2 races at one grand prix?
It's obvious that even if this season will begin, it will be very strange. Two races at one track isn't perfect scenario, but it's better than nothing. Some GP's like Australia or Monaco won't be held this year, so Liberty Media want to make as many as possible races in safe locations like Spielberg. Don't know about this race, but I read that they wan't to make 2 GP's at Silverstone. One will be on usual track and another on opposite direction. That would be interesting.

If you are bored you can watch right now an Esport GP on Silverstone with many F1 drivers and retired drivers there are also drivers from other categories.

some of them are

Leclerc
Button
Liuzzi
Didn't watched this, but yesterday I watched Indycar virtual race which was won by Land Noriis. Ialso watched Formula-E and NASCAR virtual races. Personally, it was more fun and interesting than watching virtual F1, at some moments I felt like I watch real race Smiley. Maybe because they are using better iRacing simulator, instead of F1 2019

Yes i also think it's not the best option with 2 races at one circuit, but you say it, better than nothing. Also Stuart Pringle from Silverstone says that your circuit is ready for 2 races. I think it's planed one race clockwise, the other counterclockwise. You mean the same Wink.

For me no option to look Esports the same as Formula E for me no Motosport!

For all #46 Fans, Rossi speak about his year 2021.

https://the-race.com/motogp/rossi-admits-2021-motogp-return-is-likely/

Quote
Valentino Rossi has admitted that 2020 is unlikely to be his final year racing in MotoGP, with the coronavirus-enforced lockdown adjusting his decision on whether or not to continue after the end of this year.

He think the first races are at August or September...

If those races are going to happen only with spectators then August might be a good choice.
I think that the first races are not necessary to occur with spectators. Moto GP and F1 can start together weekend by weekend and the first races can be done without spectators - but this will have a strong impact to their income.

It may happen.Austria is one of the first countries to have lift some measures by opening shops less than 400 square meter big. They may as well allow 1000 persons that are strictly controlled 14 days before the event and they will also be restricted another 14 days in isolation after the event. This can be a solution.

In the follow article is the speak about 1500 needs the Grand Prix at Austria to can run without spectors.

https://kurier.at/sport/motorsport/die-idee-vom-geisterrennen-in-spielberg-nimmt-formen-an/400820228

It is also in the article that already about 400 people are tested around the Racetrack. (Hotels, employee, guest houses, etc). So i think at July the F1 starts.

They will probably postpone the new car to 2022 and youse the actual car in 2021, IMHO.

I read and think the same the little teams have many problems with money so i think the rule changes and new developments are changed by one year. Probably the same by the MotoGP the engine is next year the same without new development only little changes!?

If they use the same car in 2021 from 2020 we all know what is going to happen and that is the majority of the races will be won by Mercedes.I think there is no fun in that as we need more competition in F1.I hope everything start to work as I heard many countries will ease the lockdown rules in Europe.

Little changes or evolution i think is possible but no revolution at the technic. Yes the time speaks for the races in Europa from July, if the shutdown is gradually loosened. Every week more and moore are open.

^  But what does that mean for the teams and all the races that were actually?  Chalk them up as a losses?  The teams pretty much spent a ton of money.

Teams, in theory, spent money earned the previous year from the position on the final leaderboard.
