Wow, very interesting. Now there is two main questions - where Seb will go and who will replace him. I would predict that Ricciardo will join Ferrari, his contract ends this year. Hamilton - it's possible, but I doubt about it. Alonso maybe?
And it's interesting where Vettel will go. I won't predict it...
I doubt he will be driving McLaren although I hope it does.I think more of a head to head exchange with Hamilton as Hamilton I think has won enough to try and win some more with another team would be ideal.Movements seems limited right now as Vettel will go away at the end of this season and then we will have a clearer picture what might happen.
Heh... Just heard the news too. And I was so excited in coming here thinking I was gonna tell eveeybody about it first.
I think it's gonna be, Vettel back to RBR, Verstappen to Merc, Hamilton to Ferrari. Dunno.
Edit: Is there a clause in Verstappen's contract?
@koal-84 I’m really surprised that Ferrari continued with Vettel for so long, as he's been constantly underperforming for quiet a while now, and I believe that this change will suit both the parties (him and Ferrari) as they both could use a fresh start. @LTU_btc it’ll be a bold move from Ferrari if they try and convince Hamilton to come over and race for them, and I can’t even imagine the records that he’ll be able to break with Ferrari’s speed, and his own driving skills. Lastly according to Eddie Jordan there’s a possibility of a deal being done where Vettel would join Mercedes, and Hamilton would go and race for Ferrari, but this deal is yet not confirmed hence we will have to wait and find out if this deal will take place or no.
The only way Vettel is going to Mercedes is if Hamilton takes his Ferrari seat.
Former F1 team boss Eddie Jordan reckons it is already in play.
“Lewis will switch to Ferrari,” he told F1-Insider.com earlier this month. “Only the Italians can still afford his salary and they know that he is worth it.”
Mercedes would need a big-name driver to sit alongside Bottas and Vettel, although the past few seasons haven’t gone according to plan, is still a four-time World Champion.
