Not good race for Vettel,  bad tactics was problem and shame that Alonso got hit at start after that he didn't find the rhythm.

What were the bad tactics done by Sebastian Vettel and his team? Please explain it more to us so we can understand what really happened. I also thought Sebastian was the sure winner of the race but Lewis managed his tires very well and took it until the end of the race.

WTF happened?  I got too drunk (again) and stopped watching at around lap 30 or so thinking Vettel had it in the bag.  I saw the result and was shocked on how Hamilton finished first.  Gonna watch the replay now.

And it's nice to see Wehrlein finish in the top 10 driving that Sauber.  I feel he'll be driving in a Mercedes in the future partnering with none other than Vettel.

Edit:  Ah it all started in lap 38.  Vettel's exit from the pits and Hamilton closing in...  Classic.

Edit:  Lap 44, Hamilton finally got Vettel who was in the mediums.  Was it the wrong tire choice?

This championship looks wide open as who will be the winner this year. Strange enough Ferrari put up a really good fight against Mercedes at a track which clearly favors the silver arrows. I think Ferrari needs to wait for more technical tracks to be positive about a win, at Canada they can't win at all as it is full of straights. I think in the tracks like Nurburgring can try to win.
Ferrari often have problems with their strategy. Ferrari often choose not the best time to make pit stop. Today when Hamilton overtaked Vettel, he had big tyres advantage. Mercedes have speed advantage against Ferrari on straights and I agree with, they will have more chances to win at technical tracks.
Today Wehrlein got his first points for Sauber team. Only Mclaren is still without points.

Solid performance by Hamilton, did what he had to do. Alonso finished 12, a very decent result. I was expecting him to fight for points zone but he didn't had a good start.

Poor Raikkonen had a fatal start, that bump in the read broke his wheel.

Who's watching the race right now?  Vettel is widening the gap and is ahead of Hamilton at around 6 seconds or so.  I guess the German is shutting up lots of haters who said he can't race.

I think Mercedes should start talking to him soon.  His contract with Ferrari finishes at the end of the season, right?

Alonso looked great today, I can't believe he managed to score a 7th place with that car. Unfortunately it seems it's going to be really sunny tomorrow in Spain or so they say, so I think the possibility for him to place high are next to impossible since he would need the chaotic of a rainy day to take advantage of that since he is really good in the rain.

But let's hope he can at least finish. 4 races, 4 car failures. He deserves better.
It's really great result for Alonso. When he got engine problems on free practice, I tought it will be another terrible weekend for Alonso. I hope finally he will reach finnish finally and maybe get few points. It's his home GP and he deserves a good result.

It would be great to see Alonso in top ten this race he is god driver maybe best but he don't have team that can produce good car

<3 Alonso.  So...  Does that mean Honda has finally started being more effective in improving their engine or is Fernando Alonso just that awesome?  Grin

Was Ferrari 'sand bagging'?  During FP1 and FP2 the Mercedes were ahead of Vettel and Raikonen.  Come FP3 both drivers pulled out the stops and ended up one and two with Raikonen at the helm.

Ferrari may have discovered the right balancing for their cars in qualifying.  With Vettel's consistency, we could see them get pole position in almost all the races.

Watch the fast facts vid for the Spanish GP.

2017 Spanish Grand Prix | F1 Fast Facts

Towards the end it pointed out that 'Verstappen became the 10th different winner in the last 10 years in Spain'.  That's an interesting statistic because there's a chance that there could be an 11th.  And the only names I don't see there are Bottas and Ricciardo who are valued at 4.50 and 23.00 respectively.

Interesting fact this time we may have same winery.  But to respected to all drivers think that here it could be Bottas this time.

Starting from Spain GP and to Montreal GP and a few other races clearly should support the Mercedes power unit because these tracks have a lot of straights. I don't know you but for me I thought about it and I am going to place a bet on Mercedes as winning car in these races. The odd should be decent now that Mercedes in these last races have lost some credibility that they are unbeatable and the odds for a Mercedes winning car was 1.20 . Time to make some profit.
