All good ideas and a few people would be ready to help out but captain doesn't seem to be in a hurry to wake up and steer the ship.  The only reason he spoke up was because on twitter he was called out personally as well as his business.  At least his comments were all positive, vague but positive.  He could have just told everyone to fk off or that it's done.

Twitter active, webpage up, confirmation the charity coins are safe, mention of fixing the forks.   It's not dead yet.

The only thing he failed to mention was time.  It could be next month or long after Murray is dead in 2030.

Bill Murray isn't getting any younger.  Pointless having a coin about a dead guy unless it's a President.  There are plenty of those on fiat money already.

Last time there was supposed to be an update it was 10/2015.  Now we're at 6/2017... half way to 2018.

Murraycoin doesn't need Bill Murray at all.  A coin is the community.  There are very successful fan clubs for any number of famous people.  What makes them successful isn't endorsements, but an active community with dedicated leadership.

Twitter active - answers tweets from people confronting Murraybros, his business, and reputation.  No real updates.

Webpage up - barely.  Hasn't been updated since Cryptsy was the top exchange.  Still says 2014 at the bottom.  Nothing works.  Costs $20 a year to keep it running and in the past it was offline or the SSL cert was bad.

Charity Coins - you've got proof of that?  Show me them on the block explorer, oh that's right, there isn't one.

Fixing the forks - no public mention that the coin is forked, how long until a fix, or when the existing chain is going to be fixed and working.  When the coin did fork, a notice should've been made.  Of course, the coin probably wouldn't have forked if the two seed nodes in the code weren't taken offline.  Did he reach out to ask the community for some money to keep the nodes going?  No.  I'm sure some members would've stepped up and helped out.  Instead, they were taken offline... WITHOUT NOTICE.

I've spoke to Cryptopia they might remove the coin from the system, right now it's only inactive (not on exchange) but still in the system.  According to the person I'm in contact with if they remove the coin that means paying for re-listing.  With the current BTC price and the price of DOT it will cost 2M DOT or 3.13 BTC.  Anyone got 3.13 BTC laying around to spend to get listed again?  That's $8K to get listed at current DOT prices of 0.00000157 BTC per DOT.  Is it worth a little time to fix the existing coin so that it can remain on a good exchange and people can trade the coin?  Are people going to be complaining when we all have to chip in to raise the 8K to get re-listed?

Cryptopia is the best exchange besides Bittrex or Poloniex.

I don't mean to rant, but I'd just be happy with a working coin at this point.  Whatever advancements could be at a later date.  Just to see a working coin, fork fixed, updated website, explorer, and trading again.  I don't think that's too much to ask for - a days work once in 2 years to keep a coin running.

Anyway, I'd be surprised to see anything happen.  It's been too long with nothing to all of a sudden see activity again.  And trust me, I'd like to see activity again.

I don't even remember how much Murray I have anymore.  It's just a lonely wallet file in a backup wondering if it will see the light of day again...

If I remember, the dev refused to hand over the keys to the operation even though there were some willing to restore it, right?

I think he complained that the sentiment for crypto had soured and he had other things to work on more worthwhile.

WELL, crypto has made a comeback in a huge way and this would be a great time to revive the coin!!

Make it POS so less technical people can participate in the creation process, but call it Proof of Swing.  Instead of Masternodes they would be Murray Nodes.  Make it fun, like the awesome wallet was!  So much potential for a laid back, charitable, and fun little project.  Maybe even The Chive would get on board with the Murraycoin fun someday.

If I'm reading that right the last difficulty on that block was 1.7 so there must have been some hash rate being thrown at it.  The last 6 months of mining in 2016 I did it was at 0.0x difficulty most of the time.

Is 2700 per btc enough of a reason to come out of hiding?

Wouldn't it be a lot easier to fix this coin then to start a new one?

Jimmy, this thing dead?  Anything I can do to fire it back up with high BTC value now?

Murraycoin is dead.  All the forks and the inability of anyone to keep nodes up and running killed the coin.

RIP Murraycoin.
That's a defeatist attitude. With a little work under the hood Murraycoin can me made great again. Really, think about it. EVERYTHING under the sun in altcoinland is taking off. A working Murraycoin would not be an exception.

Twitter @realmicroguy
Our team obtained many of the cryptocurrencies that were frozen on Cryptsy's servers when the exchange collapsed. The Murraycoin wallet.dat was among those recovered.

We are now in the process of giving these wallet files back to their respective communities. The wallet has not been inspected and it's unknown if it contains any coins. If you are a developer of this coin, or a longstanding community member, you can file a request for the wallet in this thread: https://www.gldtalk.org/index.php?topic=3789.0

Never compromise your standards!
Bill Murray deserves better. Too bad he doesn't get mildly involved. Even a post or two might fire things up.

Juicin' crypto
bholzer = dr. kimoto chan

 Cool

believe it.

STILL TRUE.

doesn't change the fact holzer is an fucking cuck that screwed over crypto with his premined shit before others got into it and now he's gone, off enjoying his easy money from megacoin and whatever other shit he did, including murray (really too bad).  now can run his legit biz enjoying his nice house and life out in montana or wherever the hell he lives. but given where alts (and crypto) has gone since 2012/2013 i don't blame him, still too much bullshit lowlife scammers here, except for a few good projects.

Is this thing on?

I think it would be if you sent Taylor Swift a message and get her to buy some Murraycoins and Tweet about Bill Murray. She might actually do it.
Better yet, you might try all the ladies on this list. I'm partial to Gwen Stefani.  Smiley

Looks like it worked, someone just purchased $1.00 worth of MRY over at Cryptopia!
