Double spenders have superior tech skills but are still thieving bags of shit.  So, there really is no community, just collective greed and feeble hope, but, that's enough for me to hold all coins long.

If it's really 700k+ BTC ($350M or so) it'll be interesting to see how many years an investigation goes on for. Every txid is public so eventually someone somewhere will do something stupid, and so it will begin, one of the best episodes of non-fiction real-life drama you've seen yet.

hi guys

are they seriously gone with our fiat and btc?

Seems like it,
this morning they stopped trading, then a cpl of hours later they pulled the website,
No formal announcement from Gox staff.

cheers,
kev

700k+ btc gone? Hard to believe, investigation is warranted, and all MtGox management must be held up.

This is the point at which people need to contact the Tokyo Metropolitan Police to report a major fraud. Do this now, so Mark Karpeles' passport can be flagged and he can't leave Japan.
+1
good idea!
NOW i realy want to kill mtgox staff!

Let's say the draft is real. Would they manage to earn a few btc and pay what they owe?

forbes reported that mtgox purchased the gox.com domain...
i wonder what the means?

http://www.forbes.com/sites/ericmack/2014/02/24/once-mighty-bitcoin-exchange-mt-gox-is-offline-likely-dead/

Well then it appears that the crisis draft was actually real!

700,000 plus coins poof!

The greatest trick the Devil ever pulled was convincing the world he didn't exist. And like that, poof. He's gone.

Actually, the document says they'll be out for 1 month and that they had already covered 50% of all coins.  Like I said earlier,  they were trying to cover their short position.

Oh the Jedi are going to feel this one, that's for sure :-)

Never dull in bit-coin land. And I just got the fans to run quieter on my miners...

and its crashing on BitStamp as well,
    Bitcoin price:
    $489.48

good time to transfer funds and wait for the bottom to buy?

I wish I had fiat on other exchanges to buy now.
I think the price reflects that people still believe in BTC, because even after all this shit with Gox, the price is "still" at about $500, imagine what it would be once the confidence comes back...
