whats expected value of nem after ipo or end of the year? i know it will be dependant on nxt same as litecoin and bitcoin.. will there be the same sort of gap? like if nxt goes to 10 dollars by start 2015 would nem sit around 1 - 10 cent of something? or less/more?

No, I don't think that would be the case. There was a big time difference between the launch of bitcoin and the launch of litecoin(and many other differences).

In NEMs case, I can see a possible scenario in which NEM could get really close to NXT.

good work! the realistic looking coins on your flickr, are they handmade in photoshop or an edited template?

Thank you!
The realistic looking coins are based on a set of templates that I have available and tried to play around with. I am not a graphics designer, but I found it interesting that people seemed to like the designs more, the more you move away from those templates and just create something more simplistic from the spot.

Maybe a general comment regarding the 8 line design:
What I really like about it is how easy it is to reproduce. I mean, even a child could sketch it onto a sidewalk easily. I think this would be a big plus for a major movement. Smiley

Therefore I would also be interested in what a professional designer could get out of it. Maybe somebody professional like play4ce could give it a go as well. Wink

more logos! Smiley

Those look really professional executed and presented, well done! I also really like the whole look of the promotional picture.. I've got a lot to learn!  Grin

I like the cyan logo best, as I think it would be the most recognizable and also I find it easy on the eyes.  Smiley

Yesss. This is one of the best !

I would vote for the above logos, they are simple, recognizable and are just nice looking. They give me a twinge of sports clothing like Fila but I still think they are best so far.

Yep, I think this are the best logos I've seen for NEM.

Great work!

So how much longer would it take to create a new coin from scratch, vs doing it base on the NXT code?

(Not a big question on my part, I'm just trying to get some discussion going on.)

I am not Dorian Nakamoto.
For the name of the basic unit of currency, I think I like moto better than naka. The meaning is better too.
元 could be the currency symbol, then.

Sorry for the late response but I have been incredibly busy in the past week.
I hope there is still interest, I have shortened the "E" a bit and also extracted the logo from the coin in a simple approach:

Both available on flickr: http://www.flickr.com/photos/116462858@N08/
Just drop me a message if I should adjust anything, I will try my best to do so. Smiley

This is great. I love the extracted logo.

A newbie here. I just wanna how NEM is different than NXT.

Besides, both seem to be similar xcpt on the fair distribution.

NEM builds on top of the NXT ideas, but it will be based on new code. The development plan has more information about the proposed feature set. But, one of the biggest differences will be around the NEM forging algorithm.

Hello Jaguar0625

I found an interesting post about coin security on their forum.

Maybe something there can help you with the PON or POI idea.

Thanks for the link. Timekoin has an interesting approach to solving the duplicate transaction problem. They batch transactions every 5 minutes and then check for duplicates.
