Yeah getting left out with unusable tokens or coins because of a swap is really unfortunate. I was in a similar situation also in November last year and lost about $400 worth of tokens.

If you want to be a holder, it is your responsibility to keep track of the tokens, what I normally do is to follow their Twitter handles and turn on their notifications so that I can be alerted whenever there is a new post.

PG-PAY Gold Backed Token
Is this also applicable for bounties and airdrops? They also tend to do lots of things including kyc, swaps, profit sharing, etc.. Nobody follow their promises is different story. Nevertheless its too much of work to maintain everything.

No problem investing in a lot of different coins. I think that in this case, you simply had no control over. Have written about what you forgot.

And my experience is that that coins what I have sold made 100x. So my advice is to hodl promising coins and forgot about price analysis and so on.

Not only is it just about buying and selling, it is also important to do research about the coins you are holding because of situations like this, I have also lost a coin j was holding due to swap.

Ouch, yeah, that sucks.
After awhile, it does become harder to stay up to date with everything.
When you first start out, everything is new and exciting so you have the energy to spend a lot of your free time researching.
But after two years, and a bear market, you just kind of stop.

And then there are the bounty hunters.
I casually do bounty hunting but have still managed to amass around 30 coins.
I can't imagine how many coins a full time bounty hunter has.

Now that I think of it, it is a good time to go and see the progress of the projects I am hodling.
Might take a whole day lol.

So, as you guys know, most coins will do swap when they perform blockchain upgrades or changing the coins to to a new coin

I just forgot about one of my coins and the swap was ended in the 31st of December
and guess what?

I just lost 0.3 btc because of it
God damn this is so painful

Been holding the coins since 2 year ago in the ICO stage
Never make such mistake guys remember

Sorry to hear that, that amount sure hard to get by now. But i assume you don't write or use any portfolio apps at all, HOLDers should know about this, portfolio is useful to see the flow of the market that we follow, usually old tokens can still be sold even though the price will drop.

Wow. . a very sad experience for you, but thank you for sharing this experience. This is a valuable lesson for me. Yeah, from your experience, I can learn.
I think I'll only buy Altcoin with the top 10 ranks. And I will continue to monitor the development of the Altcoin that I have  Wink

I think that if you buy, trade or invest in projects, you just need to obey one rule, and the rule of greed is i.e. not take more projects than you can follow.

So true , Some coins have changed their blockchain and some of them have tokens wap , I have lost some money because of that too , that is depressing , I guess i need to make an spreadsheet of my portfolio and follow their twitter so that i find out when ever they wanted to do some swap .

That is what I do, I commonly will only buy some coins to diversify my money into some promising coins. Well, buying so much coin will give us more risks although it will give us more profits. I personally still consider what I can afford. I prefer to diversify my coins and then buy some coins although it is in the small amount.

In that case lot of holders already get lost of their money investing such ico and other ico coins that have no potential to pump on their price so it's better to sell them early than hold it for long time.

That happened to me already, lost about 250$, and I am so pissed when it happens but it also taught me a lesson. Always keep track on your coin and be updated to it so it will not go to waste

That's quite a big amount, in my case I made it a point to check all the coins that are in my portfolio to see what's going on the price and development at least twice a week, that way no coins will be forgotten and you can always make a decision to sell or add more.

It's a sad experience. You're right, it's better to do a good research and buy some really good coins than to buy a lot and then get confused about it all.

What coin is this? that's a totally painful experience. 0.3 BTC is quite a good amount of money there.

For holders, yes it's a good but see to it that you are checking out daily updates about that coin. There's time interval, allowance and deadline for such upgrades. It's our due responsibility to check those updates.

yep, it is bad, but some projects can swap coins without any strictly deadline or even more they know that many people can forget to swap coins in time and waiting them for a long time, i saw it already a couple of times. So you can write directly to the responsible team member or to admin in Tg and ask about your swap, i think that this your request will be granted.

This is a big problem for holders of different coins or token because keeping track can be a demanding task.
Sometimes in order to check on all my tokens telegram groups and be updated with the latest updates and developments, I spend hours reading through these groups.

The best strategy is to own but a few cryptos and that you will be able to track conveniently.

It can be very difficult sometimes to properly follow up the coins at we have in wallets. Imagine a bounty participant that has participated in so many projects and has been paid. Some are having almost a thousand coins in their wallets, which means there is no way to monitor each of them.
The easiest way to go about it, is to join their social media handles to get updates.
