You own the pen
Bite only the thing that you can chew. sometimes our own greed will make us feel not content on the things like this. for me 5 coins is enough to hold. because on that way I can just leave it the way i want. most of the coins that i hold is some top 10 coins. no need to worry about changes and less stress too.

The cryptocurrency market is cruel. Some people make money naturally. Some people will lose money. This is not a holy place for every investor to make money. In fact, short-term money is usually related to luck. Long-term profit is related to your judgment.

This was a big big lesson I learned last year. I have around 40 different coins in different wallets and exchanges. I am not saying this is bad especially for those gem hunters. But make sure you have the time to manage it well because there will be many updates in crypto space. Even in 2017, I did passed many bitcoin forks because of being busy in real life and it was worth thousands of dollars.

This is a very good and expensive experience ((I listened a lot about portfolio diversification last year and constantly bought "promising" coins. Now there are more than 70 altcoins in the portfolio (((And I’m just waiting for a bull run to jump out of them. It's hard to follow everyone.

Helpful advice to warn others about the holding system. I hope others would not experience the same as you. Not good to lost  .3 btc or even just  .1. Investment is not intended to lose one day but to gain something good in return. Maybe we need to reorganize things with regards to investments.

SEND AND RECEIVE MONEY INSTANTLY

So the dev team didn't update users? I don't understand why the team wouldn't consider updating while considering those holders who just put their tokens on the safe wallet. I do have a coinvest token which the team had been updating regularly that they need us to swap and then they allow us to swap anytime even in the next 5 years we can still swap it.

Is it important to update? Doesn't matter? They have to swap their coins anyway! He is the investor! And Coinvest doing the right thing then. It has to be like that.

So, as you guys know, most coins will do swap when they perform blockchain upgrades or changing the coins to to a new coin

I just forgot about one of my coins and the swap was ended in the 31st of December
and guess what?

I just lost 0.3 btc because of it
God damn this is so painful

Been holding the coins since 2 year ago in the ICO stage
Never make such mistake guys remember

By the way, which project we are talking about right now. Let us know and support you at their social media and telegram channels.

It is not fair for you! There can't be any end time for this! Team has to take back their all oldest token or coins!!! I think you should try anything you can! I always support you! It is your money and it not true to swap and waste it why you missed the time!

For example TRX is swapping their old tokens at sharing their old token amount which people holding.

I am sure if the coin or the token is on the list of the exchanges, it will more easy to control. But if that coin or tokens is not list and only store in the mew wallet or the website platform or separate wallet and we cannot always checking the project status, we can forget that coins and makes us late to sell if the coin is listed on the exchanges. I have this experience too but fortunately, I don't loss too much and I don't think about that coin again and just say let it be Cheesy

That's unfortunate but it is true that do not buy too much coins. I only have like 5 coins in my wallet so I can easily read the updates of it and I am very careful when I am buying another coin. Never make that same mistake again .

And you can't swap it? It doesn't make a sense. I still have some Tronixs (ERC-20) and probably I can swap them anytime.
And what coin it was?

I also agree it's nice and safe to have and manage a low volume portfolio as regards these coins. Having a whole lot may eventually leads to being ineffective and not updated enough. It's actually frustrating for me personally as market isn't doing too great.

And why keep them so much that it is impossible to analyze and track everything. I believe that five coins is enough for a good and profitable trade, everything else is just greed.

Killing Lightning Network with a 51% Ignore attack
Create a folder in your bookmarks
and place a link to the main forum of each of the coins you hold.
On a weekly or biweekly schedule click on each link and check the last posts of that coin forum to keep updated.

That way you can keep updated, but schedule reading it and stick to the schedule.

I feel have some certain number of coin in your portfolio that you can monitor properly is the best instead of gathering so much that you can not monitor the progress both in the market and with the dev.
Totally agree with you, it is a pain getting to follow every single coins forum trying not to miss out on latest update about the project, I almost missed out on one recently just lucky to have visited the forum and realized that a swap was supposed to have happened but there was a hitch and that got postponed. Now I have to follow up with that every day not to miss the swap else I loss my coins. I think it is better to reduce the number of coins you hold for easy monitoring.

Good advice, thank you. This is so true, we can’t monitor all the coins we have and keep up with the swaps. Can’t the developer team do something for you? Try contacting them and see whether they can do anything or not.

Well they cannot do anything
What most Dev does is

Before swapping your old coins, they will ask you sent your coins to a specific address
Once the process is done, they will provide you with new coins

But in order to increase the valuation of the new coins, they would mostly perform coin burns to keep the supply lower
It is good for the investors but at the same time, bad for people who actually bought the coins previously and got no time to swap

Hence i believe, there's something needed to be done there
I mean you can't just say: Oh, lets have a swap and the duration is a year and wait people come to you manually

I've swapped almost 3-4 coins.
The main problem is none of the Devs actually came to people who invested in their ICO and let you know what is the upcoming updates and etc hmmm

Edit: However, you don't blame anyone else except yourself unless the project is a scam. As an investor, it is your job to keep following up with the latest news
