Google is not going to track me for my 0.002BTC. and it's not simple, a seed have 12 words I will translate 4 words in 3 different languages in different papers and keep them in different locations. Maybe 2 papers is good choice.
You must be new to the internet.
Anything that you do online and expose your seed phrase online, that's already a bad move for you. It's like you are feeding a hint to the hacker and give them the opportunity to hack your account. No matter how small the amount may be, hackers will always be hackers, as long as it involves money, they will always find ways on how to manipulate your account.

Your idea is great but because you do it online, the security of your seed phrase will always be at risk. Know that whatever you feed online will not be your full possession anymore, since it will always give them the chance to access and control your account even without your permission. No matter how reliable the platform is, as long as its done online, it will never be safe.

Idea:
Hello, I am sharing a new idea for keeping your crypto seed phrase safe. You can make your seed phrase more secure by translating it into different languages. For more security use a translator and translate in two or three languages and split them to different papers for more security.

I tried to find wallets which may allow multi language seed phrases but not found one, everything was for wallet software translated into different languages.

Question:
So my question is can we generate seed phrases in a different languages with wallet software? Is there any wallet with this feature?
The most effort of every cryptocurrency user is how to secure their assets, which means they try to test their wallet in the most secure way so that their assets can be protected from hackers etc. So, taking this context, everyone is expressing the safest way and their own experience, and everyone compares their thoughts and gives suggestions. As the OP says, translate the wallet seed phrases in different languages and write them on separate papers. So the OP's comment is worth introducing.

But personally, I believe that using the wallet seed phrases washer instead of the method with different languages would be better to keep the phrases safe. The washer method has proven to be effective for many users. Which has been praised by many people. You can get more information by visiting the rest of the thread.

Well, whomever got access to the Seed phrases will quickly realize that the Seed words were translated into another language and then they too can use Google Translate to translate it back to English.

If you want to confuse a thief with the Seed, you have to break up the Seed words and phrases into something that only you would be able to decipher. Example adding you own words or letters or breaking it into separate words or mixing the order of the words.  Wink

You do not need to translate the security system or security phases of your Bitcoin wallet into different languages, but you should write them down in a specific paper or diary. Or if you write it neatly on your desktop or on a specific document then it will be stored for a long time and there is no chance of your wallet security being stolen.

It is logical that people are always trying to find ways in which they can improve the security of their seed words, as losing them or letting someone else to steal them will lead to the complete loss of our funds on that wallet.

But it is also important to consider how practical it is to do something like this, and it is obvious that this adds too many risks, as there are words that could have several translations or that you could translate wrong and suddenly just because of a single mistake you are unable to get to your coins, so such measures are not worth it.
Well, you see, this technique could be worth considering, as there are numerous possibilities for how these seed words might be discovered by others. I view it as an additional layer of security with a slightly higher level of risk. Users employing this method (translating into another language and scrambling it) should be familiar with the mechanism applied. In other words, every week or every two weeks, users should attempt to import their actual valid seed words by translating the language mystery applied to the stored seed words.

In essence, users should regularly practice importing their seed words to avoid forgetting them when they need to restore their wallet in the future. And as I mentioned earlier, this does increase the risk if the data exposed online is intercepted by hackers.

Your thought process has simply added complexity to an already complex situation. Simply put, I disagree with what you are stating. Anyone with a seed phrase for their account wallet should follow this easy instruction: save it in the safest location possible, like a paper wallet, USB, or other similar device.

In my opinion, this is due to the way you do things; rather than doing one task, you add more; if the others forget where it is concealed or where it was placed, and how much more, you will substitute other terms for the seed phrases. that you possess. Sincerely, I don't think what you're suggesting is a good idea.

-snip-

I believe is not good for the security system. because it doesn't match with the checksum. And probably will make the error when reimport it again these kind of seed in the future.

that's what will happen if you translate it or using costume language (which not listed) on the system), and you forget it.

Instead of being unsure of the security system and checksums that don't match, it is better to use the seed that has been given by default and that should be kept carefully with extra protection.

Plans to customize the seed end up with errors and even increase the risk of not being able to open.
There are many kinds of security that can be applied to store Seed Phrase safely, such as storage using Time Capsule, using Whaser, etc.

If you are looking for a specific wallet that supports generating seed phrases in multiple languages, it is currently uncommon to find this feature. The industry-standard is to use the BIP39 wordlist, which consists of words in English. It provides a standardized and widely adopted method for creating and recovering wallets.

I have no idea what you are talking about.

That is precisely my point. You do not have sufficient fundamental knowledge about this matter, and you are trying to come up with your own methods to secure the seed phrase. Let me break it down for you: just shuffling a few words in your seed phrase wont make it more secure. Dont do that!

So far, we have had many methods of storing bitcoins and it has worked well. I think people are satisfied with those methods, people will not risk trying any new methods proposed. So I think you don't need to share or introduce it to everyone because in my opinion, many methods have been shared by many people and most of them criticize more than support them.
More complicated does not mean higher security and conveniece for recovery process. With recovery, you need a process to do it correctly, smoothly and comfortably. Do you need a complicated recovery process?

I don't and I believe you and many people do not need it.

Most important for your money, if you lose direction in a middle of complicated process and fail with recovery, you lose your bitcoin.
How complicated is it? Because as I said, each person will have different thoughts and preferences, it may be complicated for you and me, but for OP, it is very simple and helps him be more confident in protecting his bitcoins. So should he follow his intuition or do what you say when it's his bitcoin?

Quote
Each method has advantages and disadvantages, you just need to do it the way you think is safest for you, you no need to share your method because everyone will have their own thoughts.
For your practice, you need time and practice make perfect. If you already master a wallet, a backup and recovery method that is proven as safely by experts and many people apply it, you don't have to try new things.

New things mean risk and you should never take risk with your money.

This idea is not completely new, it is like an upgrade of old methods by increasing complexity and difficulty. I wouldn't see anything riskier with this approach but it probably wouldn't increase our security either. This is my opinion, but I think the OP thinks it's good for him, so I say he should choose the method he thinks is best for him.

Hello, I am sharing a new idea for keeping your crypto seed phrase safe. You can make your seed phrase more secure by translating it into different languages. For more security use a translator and translate in two or three languages and split them to different papers for more security.

So this basically mean you will enter your seed phrase into the translator which will definitely make it go online, so it is bad idea to begin with.

Do you know different languages or are you completely gonna rely on translators for translation? If it's latter, what guarantees the translation will be same when you want to know original words?

Security measure should be viable for all holdings, if it can only be used for small amount might as well just stick hot wallets.

That is a bad idea, and all the reason why is a bad idea was posted by brilliant member above. But, if we want to break it all and destroy what the seed system run, you can try to create your own langauge (with not listed on BIP39 worthlist), yes, I will try to create my costume language on electrum wallet:

1. open Electrum wallet
2. Already have seed
3. Create your costume seed : (example) - saya sangat bahagia
4. Then click an option - tick - BIP39 seed
5. then you already have Bitcoin address using costume language.

I believe is not good for the security system. because it doesn't match with the checksum. And probably will make the error when reimport it again these kind of seed in the future.

You know what I love about all the responses that have been given to your question is that for whatever question that has been asked there is an intelligent answer to it . It is almost as if someone else has thought about all the problems relating to cryptocurrencies and given a solution.

For example in this GitHub already shared by Charles, you can see the answer to your question already there. I'll attach the link again incase someone missed it.

Isn't that too complicated? if we intend to keep bitcoins for a long time and we don't open the wallet then I think we can forget about the seed because the word has already been translated and separated. I don't know why, but I believe that if we plan to hold bitcoins for a long time, just buy a hardware wallet and print the seed or key, don't store it in online storage. I think it's pretty safe for that

Apart from that, in the area where I live, not many people understand about bitcoin. Even if someone finds my seed or key, chances are that person doesn't know what they found

1. Rearrange two of the words of your seed phrase in the wrong order, so that only you know how to put them back in the correct order.
~
If someone finds my seed phrase it would be useless to them because two of the words are out of order, but only I know which ones.

This is a very bad suggestion and wouldnt recommend it to anyone. You are just asking for trouble if you try to be tricky with your wallet's seed phrase.  I get why you might think shuffling around a couple words could be a clever security measure, but it really only makes things harder on yourself.  When you actually need to access your wallet, you might find yourself locked out!

Seed phrases have checks built into them to catch mixed up words.  So if you swap some stuff around, wallet software will know something is not right. It wont fool anyone and  with computers these days, unscrambling a few wrong words could take just seconds.

I have no idea what you are talking about.

Quote
2. Use a wallet that supports passphrases (or 25th word) to allow you to set up a decoy and hidden wallet.

The passphrase is also never written anywhere and stored only in your head. The other option is to store the passphrase in a different location then your seedphrase.

That second option is way better for keeping your backup phrase secure.  It makes total sense why that has become the recommended method.
But, our memory can be pretty unreliable, so it is smart not to depend on just memorizing your passphrase.

Like you said, your memory is unreliable so if you were to hide your passphrase in a physical location (instead of memorizing it in your head)  then you could forget where you hid the passphrase which is the same thing. Both methods (hiding it somewhere in physical location or keeping it only in your head) rely on your memory.

But if your memory is so bad that you cannot commit to memory one or two words then you should not be messing around with self-custody at all. Stick to fiat money and the traditional banking system.

OP I don't think your suggestion is reasonable at all. If we collect our seed phrase according to your advice then we can face danger at any moment. If we leave the seed phrase translated, later this seed phrase will show error and the wallet will not be accessed. This is because during translation some changes will happen to your seed phrase as a result of these changes we will not be able to access our wallet. So I will never accept your advice. There are many good ways to collect seed phrases for wallets we will follow those methods and keep our seed phrases very safe.

These idea is not too good by translating the phase code to difference language that is not originated from that can cause more harm in the near future while using online translation that normally make mistake of mis interpretation of what have been writing down for a long time ago. Therefore is better used the language you speak and understand for saving your seed phrase code for better in the future.

This will still hit the bottom line and bounce up more because by translating your seed phrase into 3 different languages,  it makes sense only if those languages are not word-translated. After all, I don't see any sense in trying to hide a seed phrase from me by using another language to translate them after all, I can easily know what those words stand for by simply googling the Internet.

I think we are not at it yet but we may be very close to achieving the best secure approach to storing our seed phrase and how best to keep them always from any third-party access.
