You are considered "established" if you have spent 4 hours online and have made 5 posts (new topics or replies).
I'd remove the 4 hours limitation, the total time logged in does not reflect the real time I spent on this forum, and does not go up if I forget to log in.
So does anybody review the quality of these first 5 posts, or can you just write any sort of crap on 5 random threads and get through? If so, it's not *that* much of a barrier for trolls...

I'm the keeper of the gate to the full forum and will look over every post of every noob to decide if he is to be let in.

+1I decided to finally reg to talk about Namecheap accepting Bitcoin. By the time my 4 hours is up it'll be last week's news.
Glad there are minimum posting rules for newbies. I've been turned off of too many boards because lurkers who decide to post on a whim really tend to screw them up over time.
