Feels like forever when you have browsed this forum for months, but only now made an account.

I think, at least those threads with giveaways should also be open to newbies!

So that's why there was no 'reply' button on the page.  Been lurking a while and just signed up.

How is "spending 4 hours online" actually measured? With a counter that stops ticking x seconds after your last http access to the forum server? I mean the server can't know whether I'm still reading that long page or whether I've started looking at porn in the other window (just kidding).

Somebody is watching you!  Smiley

What if the Newbie forum fills with spam? What are us newbies to do then?

So does anybody review the quality of these first 5 posts, or can you just write any sort of crap on 5 random threads and get through? If so, it's not *that* much of a barrier for trolls...

Of course not.

I'm the keeper of the gate to the full forum and will look over every post of every noob to decide if he is to be let in.  Wink

Ah, I see. Well, it's still a pretty soft barrier, though. But I suppose it will at least block most bots...

This looks like a nice place to make my first post.
I am not a troll, I'm just new
