yes because They have too little experience to choose to invest in new projects. However, choosing the top altcoins is less risky but means that they will make less profit. Profits always come with risks, so I always advise them to stay here long enough to make a profitable investment.

yes, nowadays new coins are very big risk for us to invest and we are often deceived with their sweet promise that gives us false hope, and in the end we can not get satisfactory results even our capital also disappeared in the project then in this case we have to look safe and choose an altcoin that already has the potential to be able to get the results we expect.

It is mandatory and in essence you have to learn it first before investing in the top 10 coins so that you can choose the right coin or token that benefits you.
In every Investment Knowledge is our weapon and experience,But there are chances that some are safer in top 5 coins because if they are going for Long term
Holding?there is no chance of being afraid since those coins are mostly staying longer in their positions.

But of course changes happens sometimes like XRP and USDT now in which closing changing position since this year started.
because the top 10 coins have been around for years and can be trusted, and you still have to try or learn to do a good analysis and there's nothing wrong with asking for opinions or input from experts or seniors here.
actually 10 currencies above are not that safer,Look at Litecoin from being rank 3 for years is now positioning under low,but still alive and in rank 10.

I do agree that if you are new then I will advise you to invest in the top 20 coins. These coins and tokens in the top list has been there for years now and it will stay for many more years. Many many crypto currency investors throughout the years have been one way or another has been concentrating in the main coins and been profiteering from it and I think this is the best trend that newbies can follow for the meantime. Easy and small stress in thinking of loss of profit.

Newbies need to select coin that is really top or popular coin for they will not fall into tragic scam. I beleive that there are so many project, tokens, coin are now scam that is why we need to be careful on investing if we wanted to invest we need to search or sellect the most reliable and trusted tokens or coin for so many years to avoid scams and to make our funds safe.

Newbies investing in the top altcoins doesn't give guarantee of good ROI in future, it's just for safety purpose right? If there is someone to guide a newbie, adding some low/mid cap coins with huge potentials won't be a bad idea. Say 50 % in BTC, 20% ETH, 20% top altcoins and 10% low/mid cap coins, just an instance.

This will depend on the players in trading dude, even they choose the top altcoins in the market, is not the assurance for us to say that their capital is safe already of course not! our profit in trading always lies in our hands' decision of when we are gonna buy or sell the coins we hold in the platform exchange.

I joined crypto in 2017 and until now I still find it difficult to find or choose which project I should hold for a long time and it is true that the safest point is to keep your assets in the top 20 coinmarketcap, at least the project already has a very clear roadmap and team.
Choosing the top coins are best for newbies because these coins are already well-established and already here for years. Its unlikely to be delisted in exchanges so even you hold it for long period you dont have to worry. On the other side new coins has risk of it being scam even the project seems good. Scammers are smart to make it look legit so think before investing.

Im a newbie and i have been sticking to the known coins. I dont think ill be able to dive into the lesser known coins very soon. Im not confident enough on investing to new stuff tho ive been doing my research on some projects.
people would think like that. however, I also had the same thought. it's just that, I'm more confident about the coins I hold. however, I still choose safe coins or tokens that are in the top altcoin line. i feel it's much safer than doing research on new coins.

Seek for more crypto knowledge before investing in new projects, it's not always that easy to choose, as a newbie it's better to stick with old top altcoins on coinmarketcap, why? Because many newbie are in rush to make fast returns, if you are this type pls go for better top coins, 90% of new coins aren't serious at all, they are here to steal money from investors and give fake promises in return

Newbies are safer with top altcoins until they start learning how to choose wisely, do better diggings on new project to avoid scams

Cov-19 have been used to scam many newbies and even Corona virus coins are built too which have no real use cases

Play safe and be willing to learn

Trading or holding new coins which can bring a huge profit but with newbie, the possibility of losing money is more than because they are lack of analysis skill to order at the right time. So, let's practice with top coins to have the safer

they are safe if they know how to trade well in the actual exchange platform, but if not they are still safe if they hold the coins in the long term.
But of course, while holding the coins they have these newbies also must learn while doing it. These are the best methods they can do while new to this industry.

Obviously they are safer for top 20 altcoins.Because they aren't the shitcoins and they aren't pump and dump coins.

What do you think about BitcoinSV? Seems like a shitcoin to me. Specially with what its creator Craig Wright say.
How you advice work, when an altcoin gets pumped or its dev fail heavily? Alt will fly away from top20 next day or a new will appear there for few days.

Imho - with proper research, buy anything and be safe.

If only they are able and capable of doing that research, then it would have been better. Sometimes they get carried away by what is currently happening to a coin, forgetting that change is an inevitable thing.

Thanks so much sire, I've been trying to search on the projects to invest on, but I'm scared. People frame up unreal things to be real and most of fake projects do have a real good campaigns, I just wish all scammers can be seized. So everything can be real

When I first started, I was stuck in yobit swamp. Many tokens and coins were making incredible drops and rises, and for some reason I always chose the falling ones. I think I lost 15k dollars in a year.
I think you have learned from the incident. that new coins that have fallen in price will find it difficult to return to high prices. except new projects that have future and potential.

It is always a great decision to noobs to go with top altcoins without taking a risk at the beginning by choosing the wrong coin of the coin without potential can cause you huge damage. That's why investing in top altcoins can at least not gonna damage that much which could cause by investing with a lack of knowledge. Therefore mostly noobs always gonna make their first investments in the top altcoins.
lets say if they choose ethereum month or two ago it would not be a mistake at all

A sir member called himself a newbie? Sorry do you buy this account? Judging from your comment it seems so, anyways it's good that you plan to stick to the coins you are very familiar with, don't take unnecessary risks unless you have money you can afford to lose

Half a year later - there is no concrete evidence to claim that the point is true, if we're talking about bitcoin vs altcoins comparison.
However, if we would compare non top altcoins vs top altcoins - its is true, but it was like this all the way.
I mean its not about Covid, not at all. There always were scammers and they used any possible way to play their tricks.
Top altcoins always were safer than non top altcoins, but they were and are not as profitable.
High risks - high rewards, that is it imo.

I totally agreed to what you have said and it is very timely and informative especially for those who are just new with the crypto system. If you are really looking for a good investment that can doubled or even tripled your income and earning, you better do invest your money to top rank coins and I assure you it is worth to invest.

There is no problem investing on unknown token if you know well "how to analysis any token, what should buy and what shouldn't.
It is a poor idea to invest in an unknown token. You know, what we are discussing here, look at OP. It is clear that OP said for newbies, and you know newbies are still hard to analyze which one better to invest as they are still beginners. For me, it is much better if they invest in top altcoins with a lower risk of losing all money. At least, investing in top altcoins avoid a chance to hold dead coins.

I agree, top coins give low amount of profit but sometimes people lost everything investing on unknown coins/tokens. So isn't it better to invest on top coins and make small amount of profit without risk
I guess you don't really know about the strategy to invest. How can you state that investing in top coins to have a lower amount of profits? It is totally wrong. Investing in top coins also have a chance to earn big profits, it depends on your strategy. Having a low amount of profits only applies to invest in stable coins. You must note this!!

You are kind of right though because too altcoins will never dump that hard and even if it dumps there's tendency of coming up back. But every newbie should try and ensure they understand crypto fully that it isn't a get rich quick scheme as people do think. But top coins should be better for them.
