Not all top altcoins, EOS, BSV aren't good enough, I would like to add ripple but not too bad, I belief EOS AND BSV will lose their rank in near future, as good as EOS platform is they are ruining everything with their ridiculous wallets, CPU and RAM issue affecting many users

Only idiots fall in covid-19 scam coins. You're right about top altcoins, they are safe at least. Maybe they do not give high return but if top altcoins crash, you will not lose too much, altcoins only crash about 2-10% in bad market, it's an affordable loss in crypto investing.

Seek for more crypto knowledge before investing in new projects, it's not always that easy to choose, as a newbie it's better to stick with old top altcoins on coinmarketcap, why? Because many newbie are in rush to make fast returns, if you are this type pls go for better top coins, 90% of new coins aren't serious at all, they are here to steal money from investors and give fake promises in return

Newbies are safer with top altcoins until they start learning how to choose wisely, do better diggings on new project to avoid scams

Cov-19 have been used to scam many newbies and even Corona virus coins are built too which have no real use cases

Play safe and be willing to learn

You are right. But it would be nice for newbies to do due research on any project before investing their monies in it. Bitcoin I can say is very safe for both newbies and oldies. Investing in bitcoin is safe. Ethereum too is a safe coin to invest anytime. But DYOR before making any investments.

Bitcoin (BTC) is the safest coin for all newbies, I've never regretted buying Bitcoin, and also top exchanges tokens are doing so well, huobi, binance, Okex can bring good ROI in short term holding but still Bitcoin is the safest option

Not all top altcoins are good, for example BSV but they are better than investing in new altcoins, you did have a point, I would like to add that ethereum, litecoin, BNB, BCH are all good altcoins but Bitcoin is the safest

I would safe newbies are safer with Bitcoin. BTC should be the first investment if you have never heard about cryptocurrency market. Only after a while you can start choosing altcoins for investments.
as major currency in crypto market , bitcoin be the safest coin now. although it has high volatility but most of investors give huge portion in their portofolio. and for alltcoin we could our own research in market. and top 100 cmc still be priority in our list.

Few top altcoins end up losing their ranks of Coinmarketcap, not all top altcoins today will be at same spot tomorrow, this advice is a bit misleading, the best option is sticking with Bitcoin as a newbie

That's why it's a better option for newbies to choose bitcoin instead of alts about which they know nothing.
that's the main point. Newbies have no clue about how crypto market is working today. That's why they must take an investment with low risk and high guarantee to make sure they will not loss their amount instantly.
Bitcoin is the best choice but the newbies must also try to learn more about altcoins.

Newbies must immediately feel the crypto market so they can learn that very high fluctuations occur every day.
nothing is safe in crypto even for bitcoin, but if you can already understand the market then everything will look fine.
indeed there is nothing safe in the crypto world but at least if you choose the top coin the level of loss will decrease because they have a good reputation compared to new coins, the price of new coins is very difficult to predict so it is not suitable for beginners to buy them

If newbies really want to invest right after they know about the crypto currencies then it is best if they will invest to the top altcoins as you have mentioned so their risk will be lessen and after that, they will use their free time to study what is crypto currencies and how it works so they can upgrade their investment pattern upon learning something helpful.

Crypto is not that easy to earn money if you have no further knowledge about it so newbies are not that welcome to crypto if they really want to start immediately but if they do it smoothly then they have potential to earn a massive amount if they will be wise in their decision making.

No investment is safe, even the top coins are risky due to the market volatility. But, OP used the term safer I think he is referring to newbies investing in new projects who have little hope surviving the market. It is true that they will have lesser risk if they will invest in old altcoins who already have a market price, but this doesn't mean they shouldn't do their part on reviewing coins that they choose to invest.

Newbie is indeed very susceptible to scams, and therefore easily attracted to the promotion of new projects, which are mostly scams. It's best for
newbies investing in top altcoins which is proven to be safer. Because top altcoins besides having a large volume, and also very reliable because
high demand for top altcoins. Especially in situations like now many developers who are not responsible for making projects scams.

For newbies I think its best to start with bitcoin, this is to ensure that your money is safe. Well dont get me wrong of course it has risk but compared to alts bitcoin is much safer because even the price goes down, there's a high possibility of bouncing back.

When it comes to alts yes its better to stick with top coins in cmc. There are many shitcoins existing so dont trust easily for high return because it might a pump and dump coin with no use cases like what op said.

Either top coins or low ranked coins
Either newbie or professional, crypto currency does not really care about status, you must steadily do your research functions every time before delving into trades or investment.

Investing in covid19 coins are wrong and should be avoided, and you must always do your own research

Cov-19 have been used to scam many newbies and even Corona virus coins are built too which have no real use cases
During this Covid19 era, many new projects are coming and attracting newbies to invest n their projects, with very promising earning in a short time. And the fact is that many newbies are interested and trapped to join those shit projects. Why? Because they know nothing about crypto, they are only attracted and deceived of earning much money in a short time while they really need the money in this era. This is silly, but this really happens. Many hype and advertisement on social media, YouTube, and others have attracted many newbies to come to join them.

Newbies are safer with top altcoins until they start learning how to choose wisely, do better diggings on the new project to avoid scams
I quite agree with this. Rather than choosing the coin from new projects, it will be safer with the top altcoins, at least the top 10. However, actually the safest way is investing or trading BTC or ETH. They are most secure way to earn money.
However, one to remember, never follow the hype, learning is crucial.

We can still make profit with top altcoins, there is no need many trading pairs/no need more coin to trades. Its have limitless opportunities in the market. Don't be worry if you miss some, always be patient before decide, use partially from your fund and buy it step by step, not all in one price.
And always remember, don't ever get envy with someone result, stick with your plan.
Newbies should be more careful when it comes to investing and having those top altcoins to invest is a good start. Bitcoin may be more profitable as an investment but knowing it has high volatility compared to others, it will make newbies more prone to lose than making profits. Newbies should start making good researches first before deciding to invest.

This advice isn't only for newbies but for everyone looking to invest in cryptocurrency. The truth is, only the highly ranked project on kucoin actually have a wide scale usability and market capitalization. This makes these coins/tokens not only stable but more secure compared to the lower project tokens. There is a huge tendency that these lower tokens may some day cease to exist and thus, making away with investor funds. It has happened repeatedly in this industry and there is certainty that it will happen often than not. Everyone is investing in Bitcoin, Bitcoin cash, Ethereum, Binance coin today because they are the big players and as such people are much comfortable with these projects. It is wise to believe and trust what you can actually see than what you have doubts over.
