Indeed, eth is one of the best alts to invest nowadays. If you are not a fan of diversifying then choose eth and bitcoin. These coins are well-established and has many supporters thus even the market turns bearish for sure these coins can bounce back and can reach another ath though it wont happen in snap. Thats why we need patience because we dont know when it will going to happen.

There is always a chance of 10x or 100x if we think of the whole crypto market. But, you need to invest only those coins which are traded highly and constantly with the time passes. And the most important thing is these coins should be representing a good project which has the long term viability. For, the example; if you look at the BNT before 15 days or 20 days it was only $15 or $17. But now this coin is already increases to above $75 and gained almost 5x. Still it has the potential to go above $2 in the recent future. For now my suggestion is to buy, IOTA, HVN, CAPP and Stellar which can make you more than 10x.

Nowadays it is hard to spot a good altcoin that can increase x10. well we better should research a good project that can survive for long term so that the coin will increase slowly up to x10.
I see a lot of people on here want to 100x a coin meanwhile they don't even understand what a market cap is and even when they do they still don't compare it to other coins and they think these coins can suddenly be top 5 in market cap. I recommend investing in altcoin, don't just hold two, let alone $ 4000 is a big enough money in my opinion choose 3-4 coins in the top 20 with the altcoin spec you want, if I have $ 4000 I will look for some coins to buy like BTC, Eth, EOS and NEO but maybe you will definitely be different.

If you want invest try to put it in 3 or 4 coins. 3 in top 10 and 1 in top 100
I don't have predictions about coins which will increase 10x, but I only see a few coins that will have good value in the future apart from the top coin list, arcc .. I am interested in this coin, because besides having a good concept , also this is a real product project

Quick update, I made ~20x on XIO 
that was totally unexpected, but I don't think I'll ever catch another 20x again

It's not a shitcoin tho, I'm into the project since the BOMB token airdrop and I kept buying at low prices cuz I knew it has potential

Often neglected but the partners in its blockchain council are heavyweights and thus makes sailent why Klaytn should be considered
Of course, you need to have a specific plan before deciding because these coins are very volatile when there is news and often follow Bitcoin. Besides, another option is IPX is also very good because this coin is being talked about a lot by the international community in recent months.
