I would like to update everybody with some interesting details Colin shared recently in the Nexus Slack . By the way if you are not on it yet here is the link to join us:

Tritium conception:

Tritium wallet development took months up to one year. A lot of time was in conception of the algorithms as well on paper, so its a mix of code, Lower Level Database (LLD), Lower Level Protocole (LLP), and paper. All those combined we could say over a year, especially designing the TAO update series.

Pretty much since nPoS I've been figuring out how to do everything else and writing the code to do it in pieces. Everything from 2.0 to Tritium could technically be considered time working on Tritium.

Tritium is 3.0, Amine is 4.0 and Obsidian is 5.0 - the TAO

Basically think of the TAO like this:

Tritium

Tritium is the network backend rebuild using LLP and LLD to enhance the protocol message capacity and messaging system like syncing, blocks, transactions and so forth.

Tritium will work so that anyone can choose their DB flavor. Also you guys will love "Key Suites" when I finish. Putting a basic version of this in Tritium and expanding it through the rest of the TAO.

Tritium has 3 stages: Tritium Beta, Tritium Trust and Tritium ++

Amine

Amine is starting the process of checks and balances on the protocol level and adding Hssh, Prime, and Transaction Trust Keys. Where hash references will be in blocks making capacity 10x and bringing us up to zero confirmation safety and about 500 tx/s.

Obsidian

Obsidian is going to have token contracts, ambassador contracts, developer contracts, financial contracts, reversible contracts, and the new time locking system making the fuel for these contracts your time. It will also be changing the way the blockchain locks tx's using the miners as the lowest level validation where there will be three validation methods. Will also have full LLD then which will allow trust to partition the network easily bringing our tx capacity to whatever levels the node count can handle or whatever the network needs it to be so 5k tx/s would only require 10 gb / year on miners, 50 gb / year on merkle, and 150 gb / year for transaction nodes.

Also symbology:

- Tritium is the 3rd isotope of Hydrogen
- Amine is the building block of amino acids or proteins of "life"
- Obsidian is a volcanic glass

TAO means "the principal of the universe" from ancient Chinese philosophy.

What's the deal with the CPU channel reducing the mining hashes by 3/4 when the difficulty goes above 7?

Thanks! That makes a lot of things clearer.
4) The difficulty of each channel is independent of the other, and calculated based on the time since the last block for the relevant channel.
Is this adjustment actually happening properly? If so, what's up with all the 10-20 second blocks? Shouldn't the difficulty automatically be ramped up to stop them?

Go to the block explorer and click through a bunch of blocks, looking at the "nonce".  You'll see lots of giant nonces like 376,227,383,918  but then you'll also see nonces of magnitude like 11,  or 201, or 119.   Those nonces are proof of hash mines that were so easy that they were solved with something like 20 to 100 hash attempts by a single miner. You can see this is true by looking at the hash value and seeing that sometimes only 3 to 5 leading zeros were needed.. Is that by design? Is hash mining difficulty supposed to be so simple?

The ones with the very small nonces are likely to be proof-of-stake blocks.  Don't forget that these are also in the mix and will account for the short block time you are referring to.

These are blocks he should be looking for. How did u find out these are indeed the blocks in question? Have u been talking to them? I have succeed in computer science and blockchain science and are now developing an entirely new concept of an alive crypto based on chlorine and aluminium and would like to send all of u a copy of my draft.

really? ...

i would be very interested to read ...
