Thanks for posting this here, hopefully there is some sponsor then i will definitely join. Big money pools are much more stressful and fun  Grin

If more people show interest, potential sponsors are more likely to take notice.  Wink

Honestly, I'm looking forward to it regardless of the potential to win anything.  It would be fun just for bragging rights.

DireWolfM14 is running an NFL Pick'Em Pool on Sleeper this season. I thought i'd spread the word and see if anyone was interested in joining.

We don't have many NFL Pick'Em or Survivor pools around here if any at all...it's not as demanding as playing fantasy football but is just as fun.

The entry fee is negligible, i don't expect many players, which is OK i guess. All the details can be found in the link above.

I've never noticed this thread before, thanks to morvillz7z for tagging me here. I just added it to my notifications.

Pretty excited about the new season and the improvements the Niners made on the D-side.  This might be the year Shanahan gets out of his own way and doesn't choke at the last minute...

A guy can dream, anyway.

NFL is going to start in just about a week,
I am yet to see any survivor pools on websites, usually stake and nitrogensports used to do big prize pools

Hope those sites or even some new ones do these pools as they are pretty exciting to take part in

Pointless Preseason is wrapping up and just about done with those remaining games left to be played with the few days left of those dog days of summer gone. Then we all know when you need to wake up early to make your kids lunch for returning back to school it is the Fall season with the NFL regular season beginning yet again.

The new NFL season is going to kick-off at the beginning of next month so it is time to get this thread started off a new!
First match-up for the upcoming 2024-2025 regular season starts off with the Baltimore Ravens up against the Kansas City Chiefs at Arrowhead stadium on day one September 5th:

source: https://www.nfl.com/schedules/nfl-schedule-release

For me it's a perfect game to start the season.  2 premiere teams that will be fighting for a spot eventually in the superbowl.  Is this the year Lamar takes a step forward, we will see.  Does kelce and the Chiefs take a step back or pedal on the gas towards theor dynasty they built.  Feels like forever since football has been on I can't wait.

Or just watch the highlights on TV 🤷‍♂️
Regardless, no fan of the NFL "forgot" about the NFL Draft

Was a wild week many probably forgot or just outright missed the draft.
Unfortunately when the play-offs start everybody are just too busy in their parties to take notice during primetime hours.

But one QB draft well noted was the one done by the Atlanta Falcons.

Super Bowl-winning quarterback explains why Falcons drafting Michael Penix Jr was 'brilliant'

Also Chicago got Caleb Williams for their QB pick and Joe Milton to the Patriots.

https://sportsbet.io/sports/event/american-football/usa/nfl-draft/nfl-draft-2024-645510bff5d8d6cb4a7ba643

Everyone expects the Vikings to trade up and draft a quarterback for J. Jefferson. Caleb Williams and Daniels should be locks in at #1 and #2, respectively. If the Patriots elect to stay at #3, Maye is their likely pick. I could see the Chargers trading down from #5, it's where J.J. McCarthy may fall if the Vikings are present. The Giants at #6 could also be in play for McCarthy...

Every mock draft i've seen has Harrison, Nabers, and Odunze ranked in that exact order, which is why i've locked Nabers ahead of Odunze, it's low odds but i like it nonetheless. If Odunze falls to the Bears at #9, Caleb Williams will have an outstanding WRs corp next season with K. Allen/DJ Moore and him.  Shocked

Michael Penix Jr. to the Raiders has gained a lot of traction in recent days, i'll probably add it to my tickets later today.

Has anyone else made any bets for the draft already?

NFL Draft 2024 this Thursday on April 25th in Detroit Michigan and the New England Patriots will be looking for a new quarterback so expect them to trade their pick for Jayden Daniels, Drake Maye or Michigan's own J.J. McCarthy:

Completely forgot to check out the rest of the episodes and let my Apple TV+ subscription run out.
Luckily I got another free trial for the next three months by chance over the weekend. So can spend some time watching the ones I missed and the new ones you mentioned which are available now.
Should fill in sometime at the airport for the Spring Break while in transit. So kudos for the reminder.

The final four episodes were arguably the best part of the show.  If you're looking for more NFL documentaries to pass the time, "Quarterback" which aired last year is worth a shout.

There is some speculation that Burrows would be traded from the Bengals.
I doubt he would leave unless it is with Chase to the same team.
Seen @bbc.reporter 's post on another thread about it just now. Cheesy

It was about a picture i posted of Burrow, Chase, and Jefferson from their time at LSU. Burrow isn't going anywhere. There were rumors that the Bengals might trade for Justin Jefferson, but this is unlikely to happen. They would have to give a lot, a handful of firsts and Higgins...Burrow's contract would have to be restructured to make the cap work as well.

There are some noteworthy quarterback names being released on free agency on the off-season the Broncos can consider: Baker Mayfield, Sam Darnold and Gardner Minshew will all likely be too expensive but Kirk Cousins might take a paycut if the right team is offered.

No chance Cousins goes to the Broncos. Denver has no offense and will likely have to cut Jeudy and/or Sutton due to the cap. Kirk is either going to the Falcons or staying with the Vikings. As for the Broncos, i see them draft a quarterback in the second or third round and go from there.

There was a documentary about Brady the last time I was searching for something to watch on Netflix something named Dynasty.

It's titled "The Dynasty: New England Patriots". Even if you're not a Patriots fan, it's a very good watch. Gonna check episodes 5 and 6 now over the weekend, definitely recommend!
Started watching the first episode and then continued until was on the fourth one before I knew it.

Glad you liked it, two more episodes coming out today.

Seems the Broncos will have a dead money hit on Wilson's departure to clean up.
",, his release will result in a financial loss to the team as they will incur an $85 million hit in dead money over the next two seasons."
source: https://www.msn.com/en-us/sports/nfl/broncos-cut-russell-wilson-incur-85m-dead-money-hit/ar-BB1jnuTJ?ocid=winp2fptaskbar&cvid=f6752c437ecf46c2bf14c932e54533c1&ei=11

This was going to happen since they sat him out for the last two games of the season. The injury to his hand and the recovery time didn't help his situation.

Russ had no injury prior to the Broncos benching him. They did it because, first, they were eliminated from the playoffs, and second, if Wilson was to sustain a long-term injury, more guaranteed money would come his way. Everyone knew when the Broncos hired Payton that Russ is not his guy, and no matter how he plays (in fact, Wilson had more touchdowns and fewer takeaways than he did the year he won the Super Bowl with the Seahawks), they would cut him, even if it means eating that $85 million.

Even his former QB coach from the Seahawks said he wouldn't take him at Carolina where he is now in an interview:

With that clause I think he knew going out he is an aging quarterback that just isn't marketable as a new prospect.

Russell Wilson may have just pulled off one of the greatest contract finesses of sports history. He’s been released by the Broncos now and will get another $85,000,000 for doing absolutely nothing. If I were him I would just disappear and enjoy retirement. Although I’m sure there will be pressure for him to try and find a new team.
However, will part of this $85,000,000 will be paid by his next team? I am not quite certain why the Broncos would pay him that much money from their own pocket for him to leave. The Las Vegas Raiders might be a good team for him, I reckon. They certainly need someone better than Jimmy Garoppolo hehehe. They also have the money to pay for his salary and they are 13th in the first round of the draft. They might not get a good quarterback.

This is a very headshaking situation for the Broncos and they also have limited draft capital on April according to some articles. They have 6 picks with only 2 on the beginning of the draft. They also do not have a pick on second round.

I speculate that Javonte Williams might be a good player as a second running back for our fantasy league next season hehehe. Broncos will not be very good in throwing the ball.

Bledsoe behind the scenes really showed how the NFL treats their players back then and with Russell up until now.
Him and Sean Payton never got along and he even thanked the kitchen personnel but not his head coach during his farewell speech yesterday.
