Surely people actions and reactions are different individually either success stories or failures, the effects of the stories differs too to individually and the one you choose to give attention to also determines your actions and reactions as to that regards, people can still hear about your success stories and choose to make it a positive influence in them and the same is also applicable if chosen it to affect them negatively, my point is that there is nothing wrong sharing either your excitement or sadness and we shouldn't care much about who hears it or  not because why it may not be useful to the other person it might be very useful to the next person. And sometimes sharing our stories has away of making us feel better irrespective of nature of the story.

telling our winning experiences to other gamblers may have more negative impacts on us or other gamblers.
gamblers who have difficulty with funds to play will come to you to borrow money and continue gambling. in comparison, gamblers who are very frustrated may be motivated to continue gambling and sell some assets at home for betting capital.

if you want to share stories to have fun with friends, it's better not to tell everything. small wins may make sense or even losses in silly bets that can dilute the situation at the hangout.

I guess everyone has played a game «broken phone» when they were kids. Same could happen gambling achievements would be discussed with others and more and more people find out about gamblers success. Because with each retelling of that story of success is going to be filled with a little extra information from the teller. And base story of winning $50k will turn into winning $50k when there were no hope, but with help of luck, prediction skills, magic and etc, gambler managed to trick casino and win.

People tell their wins to brag to their friends to make them feel alright. They want the friends to congratulate them and feel intimidated by them. They tell their wins so their friends know how much they have. Their are people who hide their losses to look better like they do not lose when gambling. They claim to be very successful and only tell people their wins, this can be dangerous for them because then their friends can plan bad towards them. For me it is better I keep my wins private and only tell people that I know can keep it a secret which are my spouse or my children when I have them. Any other person do not have to know how much I have won but if we are talking about our losses, I can join them and tell them mine too. We have to be careful because people do not like to see others win but only them.
Talking about losses in gambling isn't recommendable too because it show how much money you can afford to lose, let's say you have a money management where you can only afford to lose 10% of your monthly income or 1% of your wealth, if your friends said they lose $500, now you know that they wealth might be around $50K.

Telling your wins and losses to your children aren't good too because you're exposing them about your gambling activity.

So any discussion related to your financial capability should be avoided since we don't know how those people could hear our story will digest the information they know about us. Then worse situation will came if those people we share something will think about doing something bad to us.

That's why we should be silent on everything especially for financial dealings. We should be vigilant all the time since lots of people undergo on financial crisis and to bad for us if we meet desperate people around since they are the one have higher chance to do crime out of desperation to get immediate money. Be always a low key and keep everything as secret since gambling winning and losses is not really meant to be shared. Its should be for our personal consumption.

Success stories will always be different from the perspective of the listeners.
Yes, it can be positive or negative but if your purpose is to educate and inspire then just stay positive and your listener might still find a good lesson on your story. Though if the addicted gambler gets inspire to gamble more, i believe the problem is still with him and not yours anymore as your intention is clean and your purpose is positive.

Every story you tell someone can either be a motivation or something to get them depressed. I have been thinking about this and I'd like to pass this advice to every serious gambler in this platform who has won a substantial amount of money from gambling, not to share their success story about winning to everyone and in every place. You do not know the story of every gambler, and on the face some gamblers may just look alright but in deep down they are in debt, some depressed due to addiction to gambling that is destroying them and has made them plan to quit. Your success story when shared indiscriminately may trigger and motivate this addicted gambler battling to stop to want to keep gambling, having the believe that their time is close. Be careful who and where you talk about your success in gambling, you may just be encouraging an addicted gambler to continue.
Well not just in gambling, in you wins most times its best to just keep the happiness to yourself. Most times you claim to have people around you whom call them selfs your friends but deep down they envy your every move and wish it was them not you or eve rather they wish you didn't make such successful wins.  So the best thing is to avoid anything that would cause such case in your gambling experience make you wins and let them be the once to ask you how far its been

I can't understand why anyone would need to tell anyone about your gambling, much less your wins and losses. Although most likely the only thing you will have to tell is about your big losses. If you get into debt and it affects your family, then talking and information about your losses is inevitable. As for winnings, the situation is different. Firstly, it is a very pleasant thing. Everyone likes to win, especially if the win is natural. And in most cases, you are not obliged to tell anyone anything. And unless you have won a large jackpot (and this is an extremely rare event), then most likely it will be easy for you to hide information about your winnings.

I think the reason for this behavior is the inability to share a problem or joy with someone in real life. If we take into account that human psychology is organized in such a way that when he tells about some problem to other people he becomes easier on his soul. If we are talking about big winnings - then as we have already said above most likely it is a matter of bragging. With proper use of this forum we can remain anonymous and share our experiences with other forum members without fear of attracting the attention of scammers, robbers or opponents of gambling.

because some players like to brag especially about their wins, but not so much about their losses. I also don't understand why anyone would tell anyone about their games, especially those who are not connected with gambling at all. Money loves silence, this rule is unchangeable.
Even if I won the biggest jackpot, I would keep quiet and hide it as best I could, because envious people and distant relatives would immediately remember my existence)

Of course, we may not talk about our successes and luck in gambling, but human nature does the opposite, because when we lose, we will never want to tell anyone that we are losers, even our close friends. But if we suddenly get lucky, we will happily want to shout about it even to strangers, by the way, this contributes to the spread and publicity of gambling. Because of this, a random person will think "how am I worse than this fool who shouts about his luck" and will also try to win money in gambling.

In addition, do not forget that there are casino and gambling streamers, influencers in this area and they show how they win more than everyone else, because if they did not succeed, the streams would stop, although perhaps they have signed an agreement with the casino on financing from streams.
Yeah! human nature seem to be  doing the opposite or tends to do the opposite most times but all you need is control. It's simple, once you have a win in gambling, the excitement from that win triggers you to do so many irrational things that later you might be wondering how did I even made mention of this and that... but it can be controlled nmw, you(not basically you though  Cheesy) just have to learn how to control it because it's could be risky exposing privacy.
If you win keep it toyourself, if you loose keep it to yourself .... that's how you should roll Wink.thus, if your identity is complete anonymous  you can do the opposite no one is gonna know the person behind the mask
Easier said than done my friend, hiding or keeping excitement is not something that everyone can master especially when it has to do winning. And the truth like you said is that something after all the adrenaline rush, you get to discover that you have done some things or said some things that you ought not saying which to a wide range can result to many negative energy from people even the ones close to you
I share your view, we might say we can keep secrets or hide our feelings, but sometimes, we let them out depending on the mood, the person we are with and the general environment we find ourselves in, especially if we are in a bar among others. But still, we should not entertain weakness, we should learn how to make our No to be No and our Yes to be Yes, which makes us mature in mind.

Agreed, we have different qualities and personalities, some people are introverts while others are extroverts, and some people are so calm, collected and even secretive while others are so lousy and want to spit out everything in their heads. Notwithstanding, we should know what is good for us and strive to do it regardless of our personality, everything mustn't know what's going on in our lives, that's wisdom.

Yes, but not only for what the OP says, but also in general as a matter of privacy, and if you win a big jackpot, which is when people are most eager to tell, that's when you should be more cautious. It's like if you win the lottery. Letting people know you have a lot of money is putting a bull's eye on you.

If you have normal losses, no, but if you are losing more than you can afford then it is understandable that you should tell, not only because of the loss itself, but because you have to think about quitting, and for that you will need help, starting from those around you.

There are some folks that will hit it big in gambling and still endup getting themselves reckt , because of the urge of wanting more . Most reason why some folks usually stop gambling is whenever they endup getting themselves reckt like not having cash to gamble further. I know of someone that almost got addicted to gambling little by little, he could not stop his self it became a daily activity to him until endup in a point of not having any cash to gamble further. That's when he was able to stop . But now  he always stay our of anything concerning gambling.
That is because their greediness becomes higher and tells them that they still have a chance to get more money. But that will not always give a chance to win more money because gambling will not let you to win more and more. When you already win, you should know that could be your time to stop your gambling activity and enjoy the money without telling to other people that you are the winner. You don't have to tell to other people about your winning especially if you worry if they just want your money and not celebrate you because of your winning. You can share your winning to those who close to you so that will be a good moment to celebrate your winner with them. We select the people who can know about our winning so that will not give us a problem later.

Of course success story has a significant impact or role to play in our lives. Shearing success story depends on the individual who you shear it with, if it's a good person him/she will be happy for you and want to be lucky someday. In other words another same story can be shared to a bad person and they develop hatred for you. Also it can trigger someone to continue gambling hoping for a greater days ahead and may Leed to addiction too. It best we keep our mouth shot sometimes because each word you say has a significant meaning and result in another persons life.

When they have won the victory, he is likely to be interested in deeper, even though it has run out Even greater, as well as winning, we should be able to realize not to win even greater, unless it is ready with the risk of losing capital and the benefits that have been obtained before. When I won in a bet I didn't tell everyone only a few friends who were in my opinion it was natural that they knew because both like to make bets so discussing the bet that was done was a natural thing but winning was not for everyone.
It is difficult to stop when it is entered into a gambling addiction, there are even people who really need help to be able to recover but even then do not guarantee they can stop completely because the key is in themselves which if they themselves are sure then without the help of others the main actor can stop.
Well, it is nice to share when you are sharing it with the right people, mostly gamblers too.

That way you know in your mind that they are the ones who will understand you because both are on the same wavelength and I think he will do the same when he wins a bet.
I have a friend who always shares his winning bets and I don't envy him anymore because I got used to it and it became a normal thing for us so that we can have a discussion on both our favorite sports.
Like I said, if you have a common hobby or a fan of the same game, it's easier to understand each other and there's not much envy in it unlike when you are sharing it with people who don't even gamble or those you know nothing about.

Human attitudes are always unpredictable, they may be able to take care of themselves but in certain conditions they will think about getting something more pleasing to the heart such as telling some things related to their victory to others in order to get series of praise or admiration, this is an attitude that I often find.
It will be difficult for someone to really be able to maintain their own privacy even though there are some who can keep it tightly even the closest people like family also cannot know what they are doing, but only few people can do all that.
Desire to be considered successful and praised is purely an innate human attitude, this is why sometimes someone proudly spreads the results of their victory clearly.
But there will always be an impact from all of this, every action has its own risk and everyone must be prepared to accept everything if it happens to them.

Do y'all feel these people don't know the intricacies in gambling but regardless, would wager everything on them to try securing a fortune? For anyone to pull out their hard-earned fund into a project, they must have seen some juicy benefits, but also, as usual - a large abyss and the odds of falling off is always on GREEN.
We are sold an illusion.
I'm definitely not gonna assume this as an illusion per se; people have won severally through diverse varieties of casino games and you know about this...

You are absolutely right about the psychological tricks behind gambling.  Those flashy wins we see plastered across screens shape our ideas about scoring it big, while the many losses get swept under the rug and

i recall once plopping down way too much money to impress my date.  As luck would have it, I actually hit a modest jackpot early on! I excitedly texted all my buddies about my haul, conveniently leaving out the part where I put most of it back into the machines - and walked out with empty pockets.  Roll Eyes

We are sold an illusion.  Just like those flashy influencers you mentioned carefully curating the wins while rarely airing the losses that surround them.  Casinos arent building their behemoth empires by handing out easy money though.  Rest assured, the deck is stacked in their favor.  Yet they are masters at convincing us otherwise.

Goodnight, ohh Leo!!! 🦅
Doesn't that all happen to each individual gambler? If you have a bad experience in gambling such as wanting to die or being depressed, why would you repeat or play again? I think it is stupid to repeat something that has happened to him.
Do you have any idea how tough it is for a person to resist an urge for something that has been practiced overtime?? I bet you don't know even know what it takes to hold yourself even at your weakest point -- a point you're sometimes left with no other option but to try ONE LAST TIME. Obviously, it's never your last time as you'd still continue until you become helpless.

There is some truth to this, however the reality is that a gambler doesn't really need any excuse to dive back in. Someone who has formed a habit will keep on going until they hit rock bottom and finally set themselves free. It takes that moment of personal realization before they can take back control again. Everything up to that point is just a sequence of bad decisions.
I'm not actually saying a person can't be this revolutionary, it just happens in rearer cases than the former. If you think about the rate at which this thing happens, as compared to the rate of people able to escape it's cold grib, you'll understand what I'm tryna explain.
