-make sure you have the correct version
- make sure the db is in the same file structure (nxt-default.properties will tell you)
- make sure properties points to the file (again) Smiley

I've never tried this service or on windows, but I've heard this works somehow.

What version of client are you running?

If you have just upgraded to 1.4 .16, you have to delete the 'lib' folder too.

But it sounds like you might be using the installer version of Nxt rather than NRS?

Thanks for the responses. It turns out I was running the wrong version!! I was running the installer version when I should have been using the NRS. I just downloaded the NRS and it seems to be working now and the blockchain file I downloaded is now recognized although strangely, 1.4.16 didn't work once the lib folder was deleted so I kept it. The NRS doesn't slow down my computer as much as the installer version too which is good to see although I'm not sure why this is the case.

EDIT: I decided to switch to version 1.4.15 of the NRS instead but everything else is still the same. Smiley

You were too quick, installer now updated:

Hi All,

Right, when it was said to "delete the lib folder" it means the lib folder of your current version not the new version.

I always do this. I get the updated version. I delete all the files/folders in my Nxt folder except for the Nxt_db folder, then I copy the new version into the Nxt folder. This way if files are delete/changed I am guaranteed to be running all the newest files.

Not sure why but the blockchain file downloaded from PeerExplorer doesn't work anymore. I replaced the nxt.h2.db file in nxt_db (full path was actually C:\Users\Bizmark13\AppData\Local\Nxt Wallet\nxt\nxt_db) with the version in the downloaded zip file and instead of opening like usual, the NXT wallet shows a "NRS server has exited" and "Database shutdown completed" error and then shuts down. Tried it both with and without the included nxt.lock file as well as replacing the whole nxt_db folder with the downloaded version but nope.

Oh well. It looks like I'll have to download the blockchain via the client then. Hopefully it shouldn't take too long.

After the recent dip, you DON'T want to test it so much, believe me...

Nxt is superior blockchain tech, that's what I want, that's what I'm "testing" if anything. TBH, I don't know how to test price if that's what you're talking.

Is there a mobile wallet for NXT ?

Yes. Access through you mobile browser:

https://wallet.mynxt.info/

https://nxtblocks.info/ (front page)

Try both, let us know how you get on

Hm thanks. But its risky giving away the passphrase to a third party, isn't it  ?  But its ok to have some small amounts for paymant there...

Is there something like a litewallet under development ?

Those wallets don't store or know your password. Everything is done client side in the browser.

trade.secureae.com is another, while it emphasizes the AE, you can still do simple sends as well.

I thought they still store your wallet backups, just in an encrypted way.

I also wonder why NXT still don't have a litewallet. I'd definitely use it if there is any one available.

yes, the encrypted version of your wallet is stored on their servers. But, the password used to encrypt it isn't known.

There are two light NXT wallets.

http://www.mofowallet.com/

https://github.com/jonesnxt/jaywallet (still early days)

Actually, I think there is another one that is further along, but I can't find it.

(DOH! NxtLite) the message above me beat me to that one.

Someone who lost NXT with BTER ?
Some friend of mine he had all his assets in Btc,Nxt and few  other crypto currencies lost in last days hack on bter. He was saying bter is safe that's why he was keeping his coins there.

Did they reopened withdrawals as they said they were doing?

i wish, but hard to imagine, bter stole our btc

If you want to trade then keep coins on exchanges otherwise keep them in wallet as they are safe and in your hands all the times.

Tiny updates:

https://nxtforum.org/general-discussion/nxt-academy-fundraising-via-ms-proposal-let/msg164010/#msg164010

UPDATE 12th February:
The anounced video-conference will take place on Monday 23rd February at 8PM CET. Beside the participants of our project, also the students of my course concerning cryptocurrencies will be present as audience. It would be a delight practical experience for them to be able to speak to you, Nxt developers and professionals. If you feel like joining the video-conference, please contact Salsacz. I'm looking forward to your participation.
The project with students will be finished on Tuesday 24th. If you feel like rewarding the presenting participants and the participants who have anyhow earned the most Nxts during the project with a symbolic amount on Nxt, you can either send Nxt to the project's wallet or I can give you directly their wallets (under their consent, naturally).
Thank you for reading and if you had any questions, feel free to ask.

It all started during this speech: http://nxtacademy.com/lesson/nxt-new-cryptocurrency-trends-2/ (turn on the english subtitles)

Let's hope we will solve all technical issues. I have got few confirmed Nxters for the live-audience, others can still contact me and I will send you invitation. Others should be able to watch the stream on Youtube, if all goes well.

Time of the video-conference: 23rd February 2015, 8pm CET (20:00-22:00), = 7pm GMT.
