For those who haven't seen it yet:

USDbitfnx was launched: a NXT AE asset, that represents a dividend paying USD asset that is backed by bitfinex deposits.

The first USD asset on the NXT asset exchange, that will be backed by real USD deposited on bitfinex.com. The USD will be used to provide liquidity for traders on bitfinex and will in return pay intrest. This interest will be distributed once every 2 weeks to the asset holders of USDbitfnx. Assets can be either bought on the NXT asset exchange or by contacting me and depositing BTC or NXT.

Let's see, the new release will make NXT unique again.

NXT wasn't unique in the sense that Counterparty and Mastercoin (in the past few months) and Bitshares (in the past few days) had similar functionality in terms of a decentralized asset exchange (we won't argue advantages and disadvantages of each of those here).

But now that NXT introduces Digital Goods Store, set to be enabled around August 8-9th according to this tweet, that distinguishes it from every other crypto platform out there and makes it a cutting-edge technology.
