Yes. From what I gather what you downloaded is the lite wallet, where you don't download the whole blockchain, but instead connect to a volunteer or something who does have the whole blockchain. You just have to let the system connect. Something to that effect. It's pretty cool.

I think it's bad because it takes too long and I often end up giving up, I thought it would make it easier but I'll download Full Node, better download the entire blockchain and use all the features of the platform...

Having a lite wallet is not a bad thing though.

At least it gives you one more option and the lite wallet can still be useful if the users have enough patience.

This is good, a great incentive to use the platforms in their entirety (Full Nodes), unfortunately I don't know if it is my PC problem but I can only use it as a light client (NXT). I have already uninstalled and installed a few times but it doesn't work...
