Or is there built-in features to prevent such abuse?

Maybe the same as conventional DNS?

Care to explain? I thought phishing attacks are mitigated by website owner instead of the DNS itself.

I assume who ever generates blocks 22000, 220001 and so on for the first while is going to be making some serious transaction coins

I expect that zombies that r currently ddosing the network will become more active soon...

http://nxt.ru - Russian e-mail service. Anyone wanna get [email protected]? In 3 months its owners will be curious why their service is becoming so popular... Smiley

Nxt Phishing Trip?

I think Alias is great for personal use (by owner of alias only), but not for third party use.
How would you trust using nxt:ru since owner of alias could divert it to a phishing site after giving it time to gain popularity?

Man, you guys are knocking this thing out of the park. New features every minute. I for one am excited about the future this holds, and have doubled my stake to almost 200k even at .00014 Nxt is a bargain.

Tomorrows Alias Auction Extravaganza is going to be exciting!

Also Im not getting the "you can generate the next block..." indicator.
- me too. Think it is because we need to wait 1440 confirmations.

well.. im forging on the testnxt.  at least i thought i should be as I do have some next.  very few peers though, only 2 active, 0 known, and 1 blocklisted.  so shouldnt I generate most blocks if there are any to be created, since there are so few peers?  Also Im not getting the "you can generate the next block..." indicator.

U triggered protection system and now u can't generate block, someone else must forge next block.

When we hit block 22000 and process our Alias assignments should we be worried for security issues due to our passphrase being used? Do we need to use https://localhost:7875/alias.html or is sending the request directly as safe?

thnx   Smiley

U should use only localhost.

is it OK to submit for an alias with just the long format of http://localhost:6874/nxt?requestType=assignAlias&secretPhrase=123&alias=Google&uri=http://google.com&fee=1&deadline=1440  but just leave the &uri= null?

in the testnxt system, i put in an alias request like this and gave it 3 mins for deadine, and no one built a block for me.

my last block in the testnxt is 161, is this up to date?

Maybe noone is forging on the testnet? U can use empty string as URI, null will become "null".

IE: ...download crap....                                                        <- Have not seen this before?
CHROME: {"errorCode":1,"errorDescription":"Incorrect request"}   <-This is correct result

IE can't correctly interpret "application/json" content type. This is already fixed in 0.4.0 by returning "text/plain; charset=UTF-8".

I'm making coin in my signature. And it's completely different.

ok got it on the uri thing.

but what about the testnxt system seems to be stuck on block 161 thats a few hours old.  and no one seems to be processing my alias orders.  i even put in fee of 100 Smiley hey this is all only testNXT!

You need to be on Nxt client 0.4.0. Alias registration will not happen until block 22000. That's what I picked up.

Is there any chance there will be an Alias input field in the client in the future or is a browser plugin always going to be required?

Alias input field in the client is easy. Nexern is already on it. To make the alias sytem popular it has to be a accessible from popular browsers for non-Nxt users. Plug-in would be the first step. When Nxt gains traction. Chrome, Firefox etc could consider having the plug-in built-in their browsers. I hope with the the right push, that day will come.
