BTW, I don't understand the role of daamad (Ravi Shastri) in the team. I am yet to see any positive contribution from this guy.
Thats the thing. At all previous instances we have head coaches that were contributing in terms of the dynamics within the team. Gary Kirsten came up with the idea of bringing a mental coach and those were some of the things that really helped show way to Ganguly's natural instincts.
Kirsten and Dhoni had a really remarkable partnership too. Things kindda took a bad turn from there as the coaches seem to have lost the same sort of presence or even control. Kumble resigned due to differences with Kohli. Ravi Shastri just seems to have gotten in as a Kohli choice.

This is one of the reasons that every time i see Ravi Shastri sitting nonchalantly wearing his stupid shades and looking like he is sitting on a beach while the team plays, I think to myself  "What the fuck is this man doing? Somebody just give him a martini and complete the look"

Virat is pretty much the polar opposite of MSD in terms of demeanor and their outward approach to the game. The angry young boy vs the Mr. Cool. T20 seems to have become too much of a forte for the team. There was a time when we used to complain about declining Test performances due to too many ODIs. Is it the ODIs now suffering due to the T20s?

Also, as far as experiments are concerned, What exactly is the non-functioning Head Coach and adopted daamad of Indian cricket doing?

Virat is more like Saurav Ganguly when he was the captain, and Mahendra Singh Dhoni remembers me of Mohammad Azharuddin. Both are polar opposite, with the first one being overly aggressive and the second one being overly mild natured. BTW, I don't understand the role of daamad (Ravi Shastri) in the team. I was expecting at least a win from Virat and co but not seeing one from one of the best ODI ranking team was surprising for me. I used to believe that inform Indian team can beat any team with whatever lineup they have but I was wrong.

It's one of those surprise when reality does not meet the expectation.

Anyway.. it was not like they lost the matches by 100 runs or more. All the three matches were pretty close. And the reason why India lost, was due to the poor performance from 2-3 players. Captain Virat Kohli took some very brave decisions, such as resting Rohit Sharma and sending Prithvi Shaw to open the batting. It didn't worked that well, but I would still appreciate his boldness to experiment.
We never call this was close lost or big win we mostly remember teams won and lost because its part of game and cricket is all about on your day mean in sub continent we call hockey by technique soccer by skill and cricket by chance so same happen India was doing good they clean sweap New Zealand and suddenly luck gone to home team so they have very sweet revenge with another sweap its good and quality game by both teams.

According to Virat these experiment can help India's cause in the long term as ODI game are not primary focus right now due to T-20 World Cup. They tried 2 back-up openers and it failed but they should keep try new combination even if its fail, same goes with the bowling.
I don't know. Virat seems to be experimenting a bit too much in the ODI format these days. He backed Pant for a long time even when the crowd felt disappointed with his performances and his injury was the primary reason he got replaced.

He needs to continue improving his captaincy skills since he has a long way to go in order to match someone like MSD(Especially in the ODI format). His long term plan seems to be failing since Thakur is easily one of the worst Indian bowlers I have seen in recent times(Even though he takes wickets regularly).

If you look at that way then the T20 series was much closer where two matches were tied and India won in the super over, in the ODI it was comfortable win for New Zealand, Rohit Sharma was rested because he injured his shoulders and he need time to heel and the performance of Prithvi Shaw was decent and he needs time to develop himself and he will be an asset in the future. The bowlers were having a hard time to contain the runs and the batsman dominated the series.

Surprised and shocked to see another Indian defeat. I did not watch the match, I was asleep and after waking up just thought to check the score and saw New Zealand chased down and won the last match. Is this serious wake-up call for India or they will still have the excuse of experimenting their eleven.

Congratulations New Zealand for the sweet revenge.

LOL.. It wasn't that shocking to me, especially after their prior defeats in the ODI series. I wasn't expecting anything special from India for this dead rubber match. But my hopes rose when they managed a total of close to 300. But even that was not enough to defeat New Zealand, especially after the return of Kane Willamson to the squad. In the end, they won comfortably. The lack of form of Indian pacers bother me. Shardul Thakur failed in this match as well, and I think that the selectors need to think about his position in the squad.

I am not certain India was experimenting as the other players might have injury and hence replaced by other players and the main negative aspect was the bowling as they were not able to break the partnerships and New Zealand won the series after India dominating them in the T20 which is a sweet revenge and they showed why they tied the ODI world cup with the performance they showcased against India.

The bowling of Indian team is detoriated so much that if Indian team scores 500 runs, Indian bowlers won't be able to send that score. We need bowlers like bhuvaneshwar kumar back on the side.

They were testing the young bowling side that have costed them the series. I think batsman did decent but I think they should be easily scoring around 320+ to challenge properly a  side like NZ. Also Rahul's initial batting spot being shifted to middle order spot and allowing young batsman to come forward and play freely is something that I think they were willing to let this series go for something big later on maybe?

Btw was it the first ODI series washout under Kohli's captaincy right?

^^It appears to me that clean sweep is coming in next couple of hours  Grin considering kiwis are marching comfortably. This ODI series not looking good for Indian bowlers, they might want to forget this as quick as possible, Even Bumrah.

Edit 1  oops Danger man Guptill out, Bowled!

After getting defeated in T20 series this is how the Newzealand team is going to give back to India. They were whitewashed in T20, India will be getting whitewashed in one day cricket. Indian ballers are struggling to bowl in that pitch.

Finally new zealand has taken revenge against Indian team in odi series with clean swap 3-0 due to India blowers failure because we did not see any good performance from Indian blowers utill end of odi series. Because most of the the matches has ended with one side game if indian team has given 300+ targets also.

Agreed. I feel India has been let down by the newbies a bit too often(Mayank, Samson etc) which is why they have been losing quite often. Without Rohit and Dhawan at the helm, majority of the Indian batting order seems to be sinking.

Rahul was the only consistent player throughout the series and I am glad that India stuck with him despite his poor form in 2019. Bowling wise, they definitely need to give bowlers like Chahar more chances. Disappointing to see India bowling so badly(Even Boom Boom is under-performing).

I can say now that NZ is a better team on paper and in the field. The T20 series though won by India but NZ gave a tough competition in 2 matches where they had to bat in a super over but here in the 3 ODIs, two matches were completely one-sided. No hope to even think of getting equal or giving NZ a tough game. Thakir has proven to be the costliest bowler now and Virat has lost his batting knowledge. Rahul and Iyer are the only reliable batsmen but India failed in batting and bowling completely and now with the upcoming test series, I am scared that this would be India's first lost in the WC Test Championship and NZ's second win Sad

Both Latham and Neesham are good players and they habe Grandhomme yet to come. I think it should be an easy win for Newzealand. Your hope will be broken may be Cheesy If India can get one early wicket, things may get changed.
Now, they need 81 from 74 balls which must be easy.

I know my hopes will be broken but when 3 wickets fell soon and the big men went, I felt that more wickets would fall but now the new batsmen have settled and need just 79 runs. But am happy to see 7 RRR as it was 6 earlier.  Sad

NZ now requires 42 runs in 42 balls. 5 wickets in hand. Latham would be the key here and if he stays till the last NZ will win the game easily. India requires quick wickets else they would be on the losing side. Chahal last over and has bowled well till now and picked up 3 wickets. Can he take another wicket in his last over and bring India back in the game.

It is very easy for NZ to achieve the target cause they still have 5 wickets in hand. They only need 42 runs, one good over and they will achieve half of it. They are not taking any risk at this moment, just playing sensibly and wating for the ball to come to the bat.

Worst bowling by Indian side they couldn't even drag them till the last over. Navdeep Saini and Shardul thakur were the most costliest bowler in this innings. Both of them contributed 155 runs to the total. Shardul was the highest with one wicket . India management need to think about bowlers.

I was expecting India to pull back things when they took the 5th wicket for 220 runs but then Colin de Grandhomme came out and played a T20 kind of innings and took New Zealand to victory with 3 overs to spare and completed the white wash and now India needs to group up and think about how they could face a team without Rohit Sharma, i was impressed with KL Rahul as he could score runs in any position even when the rest fail to score runs and now comes the Test matches and with these performances i am confused how that match will proceed.
