^^ Why not?

His economy rate is under 6 so i would say he was good enough to bowl at-least 2 overs. there are always chances that he gets the beating but when every bowler in team leaking runs then there is no harm to try part-timer, that's the real reason of keeping 6th bowling option in playing XI for starter.

Well.. there is nothing wrong in trying either him or some of the other part time bowlers for a couple of overs. But Kohli probably didn't wanted to take the risk. It was a very close match and a big over (in case the Kiwis can score 20 runs from it) can change the course of the match. Anyway, we don't know what could have happened if Kedar was given an opportunity to bowl.

Well its hard to be a bowler when everything going against them. just look at bowling card of both teams and see who bowled good in the last game?
695 runs scored in just 98.1 overs and only 10 wickets went down that day, so its not a fault of any single bowler. We should cut them some slack for one game, it happens sometimes. Give Kiwis batsmen credit for chase down mammoth target and move on to next game.

Only difference is Kiwis used 6th bowling option and Indians didn't. They had Kedar Jadhav as part-timer bowler but Virat didn't use him.

Do you really think that Kedar Jadhav could have made any difference? I have watched him bowling and my opinion is that he doesn't have any variations with him. In a match where Kuldeep Yadav went for almost 9 runs per over, this guy could have got smashed all around the park. And additionally, he hasn't bowled much during the past two-three years in international cricket.

Sometimes we can't win a game even after we played our better because opponents might played exceptionally well that is just normal in cricket. Now India have to tighten up their bowling line up the pitch will not be safe for 50 overs as which happen in 20 over format so there is bit more work for the selectors to find right combination for long format again.Tomorrow 2nd ODI will be played hope there will be some revenge from team India.

You can expect even a team such as Afghanistan or Bangladesh to defend a total of close to 350. The fact that Indians were unable to do so, even with the presence of Mohammad Shami and Jasprit Bumrah means that they need to rework on their bowling strategies. Bowlers such as Shardul Thakur and Kuldeep Yadav went for more than 8 runs per over during the last match.
In 2006,best team of cricket history Australia failed to defend a total of 430+ against South Africa so it means best team cannot win all the matches.

Total is not a matter to be honest, how much effort they are giving to defend matches will get you win on any match.

In 2nd semifinal of  U19 World Cup between NZ and Bangladesh, Bangladesh won it very easily chasing a score of 212 , they reached it in 44.1 balls and 6 wickets to spare . Now on Sunday we have a World Cup final between India and Bangladesh and would be a real contest to watch . India might just a little stronger then Bangladesh but on that day being a final pressure would be totally different .

I always though New Zealand were a better team than the Bangladesh and I also lot a bet today.  Cry
Bangladesh play very well and never let Newzealand settled in the match. Would they be able to keep the same performance level in the finals. I doubt on this. Final of a Would cup is a pressure and India is much better & experienced team. But if you bet on Bangladesh, you will get better odds but the risk will be high.
I am not expecting any resistance from Bangladesh as India is much superior in all fields they will win this easily but if Bangladesh have good day then may be we will able to have some good match but until now for me its all about India as all boys giving very good performance in field bowling and batting this is perfect winning combination.

Cricket is unpredictable. Undoubtedly India is better than Bangladesh but things can change on the field. I am confident that India will win as of now they have performed like true professionals.

So far India has shown a good game of cricket in all departments as compared to Bangladesh but suddenly when it is a Final of world cup the situation automatically changes as their would be more pressure on India then Bangladesh to lift the cup . So in such cases the wickets fall quickly or suddenly momentum shifts. But I expect a good contest between both teams and it’s a worthy final to watch out for on coming Sunday .

With inexperienced opening batsmen too, they managed 347 so 400 is not a bad target but Rohit not being there matters a lot. Glad to see dube out and feel Jadhav deserves a position top the order as he is a good batsmen.
Except few core players, there has been lots of changes in India teams since their last visit to New Zealand just 12 months back. But, India managed to whitewash in T20 (with 2 surprising tie finishes and deserving super-over wins) but ODI needs long planning and if India would had batted 2nd on first ODI, I guess India might have chased even 400+ totals even with their debutant openers.

Really going to be a good contest. I checked few gambling houses but not offering this match to bet with. If you have any sportsbook listing this U19 world cup final match, please share here. I guess India must be the clear favorites yet Bengal tigers may surprise them. I guess it will not be an easy pick even I have been watch the whole tournament closely.

Surely New Zealand had the benefit of batting second and New Zealand fields are really smaller compared to that in India so it were a batsmen dominated match. Though we can't say that was the only reason for the Indian team to lose, that was one of the reasons. New Zealand is one of the most stable ODI team at current time, just below India in current ratings.

You are ignoring several factors here. New Zealand was without their best players. They were without their best batsman (Kane Williamson) and their best bowlers (Trent Boult, Matt Henry and Lockie Ferguson). Some of their batsmen were out of form (such as Ross Taylor, who regained his form in the first ODI). New Zealand played as a team to win the match, despite several setbacks.
New Zealand is historical a fighting team they have too many ups and downs but their fighting ability is never been end they fight till end now recently they are on top after some long time as Pakistan thrash them two time in World Cup 92 after this now they are again very good side to watch but injury problems and players personal issues also give them some serious set backs.

I haven't noticed any superhuman performance from the New Zealand team in the recent years. They have performed above average, and I will admit that. At the same time, other teams outside the big 3, such as South Africa, Sri Lanka, Pakistan and Bangladesh have been unable to stop the decline in their respective performances. So in a relative sense, New Zealand can be termed as a rising cricket force.

A part of their recent success should be attributed to the presence of several South Africa born players, including BJ Watling, Neil Wagner, Colin Munro and Colin de Grandhomme. In addition to these players, Ross Taylor is part-Samoan and Ish Sodhi was born in India. And these additions have neutralized the loss of Ben Stokes to England.

Missing Rohit now as India will need to make 400 runs which can be defended. 350 seems too easy to chase.
That is the truth, the grounds are small in New Zealand and they played well to chase the target. The pitch was batsman friendly and there is nothing for the bowlers, the team batting second will have the advantage in these kind of situations and to see a match with 695 runs in a match is entertaining for the audience, if the remainder of the series is played on dead pitches then the team chasing will have the advantage.
New Zealand grounds were small which is also a reason for the scoring of 347 by India and the same getting chased by New Zealand by the 49th over. In all the matches played by India, whether it is home ground or away it has got the best audience support. This truly gives boost to play better than the opponent in all conditions. The first match win will pressure up Indian team to stand equal winning the second ODI.

Just admit it. The performance by the Indian bowlers was horrible (in particular medium pacer Shardul Thakur and the spinner Kuldeep Yadav). No excuse is going to make up for their poor bowling. India has some of the best batsmen in the world. If the ground was that small, then what prevented them from making a total of around 400?

I don't think this "good change" thing is happening any time soon. There's a hell lot of difference in the domestic structure of Indian cricket and Pakistan cricket, and after observing today's match between India and Pakistan, it's clear that Pakistan will not be able to have a good team in upcoming years. Still, PCB's new management and their roadmap are all flawed; it's time to copy/paste the structures of either Australia or England.

I highly doubt that merely copy/paste of any structure going to help Pakistani cause here, unless PCB recruit some sort of honest individuals, they no need to be 100% honest in that case but they should put country's interest first. At least avoid petty politics and select players on merit only, not because he's someone's nephew etc.

I believe that the major pillar of the structures I was referring to is "merit". So by copying/pasting, I was referring to the cloning of structure which is completely based on merit, hard work, and competitiveness.
Okay, Fair enough. This Sounds legit to me.

I took your statement as you were talking about only implementing domestic structure similar to Shield and County, I take my piece back.

That is correct NZ grounds are smaller and scoring good runs are easier there. But, last match I felt bowlers were not so committed as they were earlier. There is always a psychological pressure when you are chasing, if the target is big. Scoring big runs will not help India if the ballers are not able to contain the opponent team.
In the past the pitch used to favor the bowlers too as a compensation to the small grounds but now the pitches have dried up and it is hard work for the bowlers, miss hit and the ball goes over the rope and even bad shots landing on the boundary. I like to see a good competition between players rather than seeing flat pitches. I am waiting to see who will win the toss in the second ODI as chasing will be best option in pitches like these.
