Shikhar Dhawan approaching his century and Virat Kohli coming back to his regular batting order and the counter attack is good and Australia is trying their best to pick up a wicket
Australia was looking for a wicket and now they got the wicket of Shikhar Dhawan and they denied him scoring a century as he was caught in the deep and if Australia is able to pick some quick wickets then they can deny India building a huge total and i hope they can pick the wicket of Kohli and put pressure back to India Wink.

India vs Australia, Australia main the toss again and again choose to bowl first. Will they repeat the same performance as they did in the first ODI. What do you think?
India started really well and even though India lost the wicket of Rohit Sharma they are looking for a huge total as Shikhar Dhawan approaching his century and Virat Kohli coming back to his regular batting order and the counter attack is good and Australia is trying their best to pick up a wicket but India is rotating the strike and scoring boundaries with ease and with the form Australia is performing in recent times India needs a huge total to win the match.

Just heard the news that BCCI has not renewed the contract of Mahendra Singh Dhoni. The end of an era. After IPL I think he will announce his retirement from one day cricket. I do not think her will do the same for T20.
You are jumping to conclusions. Its not over until MSD himself announces his retirement to the world which will probably not happen anytime soon. Think about it. If he wanted to retire early, he would have done so immediately after the World Cup last year.

He will be back although I am not sure if he will be part of the upcoming World T20 squad(Am hoping that he makes it). My interest in the upcoming World T20 will fall considerably if he isn't part of the squad. Lets see what happens.

BCCI says as he has not played in last 6 months due to which they have not included him . But definitely it is a heated topic in the country beacuse India won all the championship and World Cup under his capataincy and not including him is like ignoring him . Hopefully they would have intimated and had discussions with Dhoni before announcing this news.

I am not sure what changes will be there for today's match but, if India goes out with 4 seamers then again they will lose today's match. Batting was never a weak point for India, it was always the bowling.

How can you say that batting is not a concern, when they failed to get a good score in the first ODI? In fact, it was the poor batting, which put pressure on the bowlers. A total of 255 is very difficult to defend in Indian conditions, and that too against top batsmen such as David Warner and Marnus Labuschagne. They could try going in with two spinners (Kuldeep Yadav/ Yuzvndra Chahal) in addition to Ravindra Jadeja. Or they can continue with just one spinner and replace Shardul Thakur with Navdeep Saini.

The fortunes of India will depend a lot on Jasprit Bumrah. I have a feeling that he is still not 100% fit. Playing a couple of Ranji Trophy matches would have helped him, but he refused to do that.

What do you suggest should be done on the batting front?

Last match the pitch report clearly stated that team batting first will have issue, and at that pitch a score of 260 to 280 was good. Unfortunately India did not reach 260. The only issue I found with the batting was Kholi batting down the order.

Australia just proved that they can dominate India and if India can rebound then it would be great because the odds will be in favor of Australia, i wanted good odds and for that India needs to perform better in the next match and if that does not happen then the odds will be loop sided. Before the series i was expecting a close series but it is a one sided trashing and India needs some extraordinary performance to win the match.

Australia is having a very balanced team and most of their players are in top form. On the other hand, India is heavily dependent on a few players, such as Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma for batting and Jasprit Bumrah for bowling. Unless the younger players (such as Sreyas Iyer, Rishabh Pant, Shardul Thakur and Kuldeep Yadav) can share some of this load, defeating Australia is going to be a very distant dream.
Indian team also got the ability but they failed to deliver on that occasion. Its likely KL Rahul will replace the injured pant for the tomorrow's ODI it will bring the balance in the middle order? Hopefully I guess.

I can understand the sentiments of our neighbours but Solace in others misery is not a good thing Tongue.

Well, I hope Indians don't lose again tomorrow like the way they lost this one. Aussies, please lower the winning margin from next time; at least lose a couple of wickets before completing the target so that Smith too can get a chance to bash Shami and Bumrah! Smiley

Conspiracy theorist indicates that India should win the second game after all CA don't want to piss off BCCI Cheesy. In the limited over cricket smith is not dangerous and his batting is boring but i am more interested in Marnus Labu_Big_Name.

JSRAW and TalkStar,
Seriously guys I like your poetries. They are even better than TMAN's poetry. And I am out of F**king sources merits :-p
Well done to you both and by the way, next match tomorrow. My bet on Australia again and if India lose again then I hope to see some more poetry? :-D

Thanks Bhai, Although i didn't get your "TMAN's poetry " joke.
----Out of source merits----- you said the same thing last month  Tongue

If KL Rahul is keeping instead of injured Pant then would like to see Kedar Jadav as an batting all-rounder. India can use extra hand in bowling department when bowling in the middle overs.

Australian players (and fans) should not get carried away by the results from the first match. The fact is that India remains the strongest team in the world, and when they are in good form they can just blow away the opposition. They have some of the best batsmen and bowlers. It was the same Indian team which destroyed Australia (in Australia) a few years ago.
You cannot neglect the fact that there was no David Warner nor Smith in the team during that series and these are players who could change the contest anytime and if they beat Australia in Australia i am sure they are back in India to do the same, if there is any excuse in the store i am willing to hear that as all the players are playing in the series if i am not mistaken and after seeing the first match it is a big task for India to comeback after a defeat like that if they can prove otherwise it will be an interesting series for the fans.

With the return of Warner and Smith Australia has a complete competitive team and the inclusion of Marnus Labuschagne who is playing tremendously well is a threat to any team and if India is not able to pick the wickets then it is going to be a difficult task for them as the bowlers are in good form as well and if the Indian top order fails to perform then it will be difficult for India to defeat Australia.

Last match was really one sided match. I don't expect the same in the next match. India will come back with more stronger. It's really sad to see India losing match against a team in India. India always had stronger in their home venue against ay country.
Bad luck for me. I had stake little BTC for India and lost. Hope that I will recover in the next match.

They didn't played more cricket recently and also flat pitch has no help for the bowlers so I won't blame them.Every blame should go to batting side,if they scored more runs then the course of the match will be completely different.
Are you telling that India did not play ODI cricket and if that is the case Australia too did not play ODI in a very long time and with the way in which Australian openers played i bet no total would have been safe, India does depend upon two players mainly to score the bulk of the runs, especially Rohit Sharma in the top order and Kohli and if they fail then India usually struggles and that is what we saw in the first ODI and India does have problem with the middle order and with a good team like Australia it is exposed and what changes they can make determines how the second ODI goes.

Those returned players were out of form so it will affect their performance which happened by the way.

I disagree. It is possible to win matches even if the scores are below par as long as the bowlers perform exceptionally well even if its a batting track. Every department failed here which is why the majority of the team should be blamed(Not just the batsmen).
Last match's pitch was very flat so there is no help for the bowlers and its very easy to make stoke plays on that pitch but Indian batting line up didn't so the score was below and I won't call everyone should be blamed.

What about tomorrow's match (at Rajkot)? I have a feeling that India is going to win this one. They were complacent during the first match, but after the shock treatment they got now they are going to fight like wounded tigers. I won't be surprised if Shardul Thakur is replaced by Navdeep Saini. But apart from that, I don't expect any changes to the playing XI.
