In this World Cup tournament, Rohit Sharma has been very successful by changing his game strategy. This tbh; otherwise players would be blowing their lungs out to get to 300. KL Rahul has become a perfect middle order batsman too, usually he had image of being defensive batter but in last few innings we saw how aggressive he can get.
South Africa had a humiliating defeat on the hands of India while australia too was easily defeated. The cup's this time most certainly is for India unless something unexpected happens in the finals.
One difference being, South Africa is still doing potato if they don't get to bat first while Australia's improvement after first two poor games is visible. So I expect Aussies to win today.
So far he has scored 526 runs in total, but the most important thing is that these runs came at a strike rate of 113.11. Rohit's strike rate stands at 124.15, while for Virat it is just 90.68.
In one of after match conference Virat said, team have roles defined, and his role being, he'll rotate the strike and other guy will play aggressive around him. Rohit played really selflessly so far in this tournament. I have noticed that he seldom plays for personal milestones, unlike the other senior players. India took the first turn and made 397 runs that was a big target. And the batsman played brilliantly. Like you should take a look on the partnership of Virat Kohli and Shreyas Iyer. Virat Kohli made 117 runs on 113 balls and Shreyas Iyer made 105 runs on 80 balls that was a fast century with 8 sixes. After that we saw Shubman Gill was trying to touch the 100 runs but unfortunately he didn't have much balls to complete century. By the way they played really well. 397 such a huge target.On the other hand New Zealand also tried well. Daryl Mitchell was pulling the score but unfortunately other players were not standing on the pitch. Daryl Mitchell made 134 runs on 119 balls.

After the first innings everyone predicted this to be an easy win for India. The quick fall of wickets added more to it, and the winning probability of New Zealand was just 2% which later reached as high as 17% by the 30th over. The massive partnership of 181 runs from Williamson and Mitchell turned to be big pressure for India. After the partnership got broken, Phillips and Mitchell made 75 runs partnership. These three players kept the match lively for a long. Mohammad Shami is the real game changer, took 7 wickets and this is the highest wicket taken by a bowler in a world cup match.
Shami has been exceptional in this tournament. Historically he has performed exceptionally well in all the ODI World Cups in which he has participated. And it was just shocking to see him warming the bench during initial matches. Indian selection panel needs an urgent revision. They have mistreated many great players. And I am not just talking about Shami. Look at what happened to Ravichandran Ashwin. He deserved at least one chance and they could have included him for the match against Netherlands.

What a tournament Muhammad Shami is having, 4 more wickets today and 20 wickets so far in this tournament.
Today when the New Zealand has started their batting I thought they can win the game for their team but later they didn't played a good cricket. It's all over for New Zealand. Revenge taken successfully by the Indians in style. The match was pretty much over in the first innings itself thanks to the monster total set by the Indians. Rahul's late blitz won them the game.
Also, I expected Shami to be the highest wicket taker in this game and I was right. 7 freaking wickets. I think he should be awarded the man of the match award.

Today's first semi-final was very interesting and important for India and New Zealand. India won the semi finnal and go the finnal. If India did not win the match, then India's hard work would be wasted.
