I think it is useless to try to make your semi-final place by the defeat or victory of others instead of making it on your own performance. In many tournaments or World Cups I have noticed such a situation where Pakistani fans wait for their team to reach the semi-finals after the other teams lose or win. If the Pakistani team had taken care of their run rate from the beginning, they would not have faced such a situation, where they could not reach the semi-finals just by winning, but by winning by a big margin which seems impossible.
Pakistan bowlers failed the team. After Naseem Shah was ruled out due to injury, the burden of pace bowling fell on the shoulders of Shaheen Shah Afridi, Hasan Ali, Haris Rauf and Mohammad Waseem. But none of these bowlers maintained consistency. And the less we talk about the spinners, that better. The batsmen did what they could. For example, they won a match for Pakistan chasing target of 400 plus. But bowlers dragged them down in almost every other match. Anyway, they are almost out of the tournament now. They should target for a decent performance in their last match, which is against England.
