South Africa have already qualified for the semi-finals. So the match is not important for them.
Well, it is not a good idea for a team who has qualified for the semi final of the world cup, to play irresponsibly and lose the last match before the big semi final match. This is never a good idea and South African teams know this and they have bowled well and now are 57 without wicket loss.
Quinton de Kock who has been in superb form for the South Africa is again looking good at 33 while being helped by this co-opener and captain Temba Bavuma at 18.
Earlier Azmatullah Omarzai remained not out at 97. I seriously wished he should have made his century, He was too good today and fought well against the South African bowlers. The World Cup journey will end for Afghanistan today.
The South African team lost the wicket of Temba Bavuma in the 11th over. As usual in the previous matches we saw a poor performance from Bavuma in today's match. Bavuma returned to the dressing room after collecting 23 runs from 28 balls.
Quinton de Kock is batting with responsibility. De Kock is unbeaten after collecting 41 runs from 46 balls. At the end of 13 overs, South Africa managed to collect 66 runs. As now South Africa are second in the points table, and they have no chance to go to the top of the table, so South Africa net run rate is not worried today. This is why South African batsmen are not batting aggressively today.
Once again, Temba Bavuma, the captain of South Africa, didn't perform well. It's a letdown because he's leading the team, but his playing doesn't justify a spot in the playing 11.
Then, on the next ball, QDK lost his wicket. Quinton de Kock trapped by Mohammad Nabi after scoring 41 runs from 47 balls. It was an unnecessary shot from him, especially when he was doing well at the beginning. Even though it was a crucial wicket for Afghanistan, it doesn't seem to change much as the South African batters are collecting over 5 runs per over. It looks like an easy win for them.
