It was a typing mistake. I wanted to say that a lot of people are trolling. But I genuinely think that he is improving. I agree that the statistics are better because the other bowlers who are not average, are not playing regularly. But of course those are the chances which should be utilized properly by someone like Shardul Thakur. Now, because of his statistics, he’s going to get more chances in my opinion.
His domestic statistics are not something really unbelievable to be honest. But in the international scenario, the statistics are in favour of him. I know he is not a very quality bowler. But as long as he gets the job done, I don’t think anyone has anything to complain.
Fair enough but I don't think anyone actually trolls him. In fact, he's a very likable cricketer among fans.
Yeah, the lord meme started as a joke when Dhoni gave him the tag of "Lord Thakur", similar to "Sir Jadeja" but there is no malice in it and fans really admire him because he always surprises everyone.
I am still doubtful about his role in ODI tho but in test cricket, he's an important asset when playing in SENA countries and he already proved his worth in Australia, SA and England with the bat and ball.
If he plays on a slow pitch he is really very much effective, player like him always perform well on slow pitch. and to be honest he he is really aged and doesnot have much pace. So in a fast track, he is not going to be very useful. even if he is useful in a fast track, there are other players in the Indian team who will be far better options compared to him. He is a player who has to be utilized properly by the captain. Like he cannot be used towards the end overs. He also cannot be used as the opener while bowling in my opinion.
And my perspective is, if those fans called him "Lord" as fun then it is normal, but if they have any bad intentions by calling him "Lord" then it is really disgusting. But sometimes people misunderstand things. Anyway India certainly has better options compared to him. But if he is used properly, I think he will be a great asset for India. Especially when he is in form.
