I was checking out champions trophy schedule and we have India vs Pakistan in group stage once again. I would like it more if they put India and Pakistan in different groups and then they collide in semis or in finals. It would make match much more interesting than this cash cow treatment from ICC.

New Zealand Vs Sri Lanka, 2nd ODI

The second ODI between New Zealand and Sri Lanka was again reduced to 37 overs due to rain. Batting first, New Zealand got off to a good start and lost their first wicket on 31 runs. New Zealand won the first ODI match, so this second match is an important win for Sri Lanka, so in today's match Sri Lanka will try hard to return to the series, New Zealand will have to play well to ensure the series win. However, in the current playing conditions, New Zealand can easily score above 250 runs. At present at the end of 10 overs they have collected 70 runs with the loss of one wicket i.e. the run rate is 7 per over.
Well it's look like new Zealand were on a aim to take his revenge of previous series defeats against SiriLankan team and that why they won back to back series against them with today victory and thus they get lead in ODI series too, no doubt SiriLankan has quite decent team but when it come to play outside of thier home condition they mostly have bad stats. Anyway just like explained over has been reduced due to rain intruption but still SiriLankan has chances to get them but the bad start from thier opening pair execute huge pressure on rest of lineup and thus even having opportunity still they can't filled the required gap and due to pressure mounting situation they lose rest of thier wickets before bunch of over left.

In the second ODI match, the Sri Lankan team was defeated by New Zealand by a big margin. Due to the defeat in this match, the New Zealand team secured the ODI series win against Sri Lanka with one match in hand. The third match is only a regulation match for New Zealand but this match is very important for Sri Lanka because if Sri Lanka lose to New Zealand in the third ODI they will be whitewashed in the ODI series. To be Whites against any team is to prove that one team is very strong and another team is very weak.
Sri Lanka will certainly not want to lose such a humiliating ODI series against New Zealand.
However, the way I saw the New Zealand bowlers bowling in the second match, I do not see much hope from Sri Lanka in the third match as well.

Another victory for the New Zealand team. They were also winning the T20 series, lost the last game but still had a good record and now here in ODI format, they are playing so well and have a chance to whitewash their opponents. Can they do this?

Rachin Ravindra was the player of the match who scored 79. I think not only him but Mark Chapman also played a vital innings of 62 runs and together they were able to give a target of 255 runs in 37 overs. They batted so well and left no chance for Sri Lanka to even come close to their target.

By the way, only one game is left of this series and then we will see the matches between Pakistan and New Zealand on 8th Feb after the break of a month.

In this series, we can see the dominance of New Zealand players. The New Zealand team won the T20 series. New Zealand also won the first ODI match easily. Sri Lanka gave a small target of only 179 runs in the first match. The New Zealand team got an easy win. I guess New Zealand will win today's match and win the series.

The match has been delayed due to rain. So today's match will be played in 37 overs. Sri Lanka could not give a big target by batting first in the first match. So today the Sri Lanka team won the toss and decided to field. New Zealand lost one wicket in 10 overs and was able to collect 71 runs.
New Zealand had an outstanding, consistent performance in the second ODI match against Sri Lanka and won by a huge 113 runs. Mark Chapman and Rachin Ravindra's amazing partnership of more than 100 runs helped New Zealand to set a 250-plus target against Sri Lanka. While chasing down a target, Sri Lanka only managed to score 142 runs all out in 30 overs of the match. Will O'Rourke young talented bowler picked 3 important wickets by just giving 31 runs. The man of the Match is Rachin Ravindra, and for his blasting batting performance, he scored 79 runs from just 63 balls. Sri Lanka bowled well, especially Maheesh Theekshana, who picked 4 crucial wickets but didn't restrict New Zealand to a low score total, winning by a huge 113 runs and leading the series 2-0.

Sri Lanka were the most vulnerable team from the start, Kamindi Mendis was the only one who scored 64 runs but the rest of the batsmen performed very poorly. It is nothing but foolish to compete with New Zealand on such a performance, because New Zealand's bowlers performed the best in this match.
Of the two teams, New Zealand reached the last stage of the wicket but their runs were higher. However, in this match, New Zealand performed well in both batting and bowling, which made it much easier for New Zealand to win this match.

New Zealand is on top at the moment. The required run rate is hovering around 8 runs per over, and Sri Lanka has lost 4 wickets. They are at 29/4 after 7 overs. Right now, Janith Liyanage and Kamindu Mendis are at the crease. Jacob Duffy has picked up 2 wickets, while Matt Henry got the wicket of Avishka Fernando. Should be relatively straight forward for New Zealand from now on. One more wicket, and the match will be firmly in their hand. And while batting, Rachin Ravindra once again made his impact felt. He is rapidly turning out to be the backbone of Kiwi batting.
And Finally now the New Zealand has won the match. They already have won the series with 2-0. But they have one match left. But If we take a look on the performance of the SriLankan team so I think they will lose the last match too. Means New Zealand will swipe out the SriLankan team in this series. By the way this is too early to say SriLankan team can also make a comeback and can win the last match. Like they do in the last T20 match in T20 series. So according to this I think they can make a comeback. So let's see what they will do in the last match of this series. Smiley

Patience and hard work are the keys to success.

New Zealand is performing well at home. After the T20 series, New Zealand is also dominating the ODI format. After losing by 9 wickets in the first ODI, Sri Lanka is not in a good position in the second match either. Especially Sri Lanka has always been unable to perform well in the ODI format, for example, not being able to stay in the Champions Trophy. Sri Lankan batters are failing to score runs even on batting friendly pitches. Especially we know that New Zealand's pitch is batting friendly, if you cannot score 250+ runs in the ODI format even on such a pitch, you can call the batters a failure. To win a match on a flat pitch, you must keep a 6+ run rate.

If you follow New Zealand's innings, they always try to keep a 6+ run rate in their field and they do. Even sometimes they (in the ODI format) score 7-8 runs per over. In today's match too, they scored almost 7 runs per over. This target is definitely a bit tough and puts pressure on the opposition team (Sri Lanka). As we can see from Sri Lanka's batting innings. They are giving away their wickets under pressure of runs and now they need to take 8 runs per over. To win, they still need to score 176 runs in 21 overs and have only 5 wickets in hand. It is almost impossible for Sri Lanka to win the match. Maybe New Zealand will secure the ODI series with 1 match to spare.

Sri Lanka gave a small target in the first match due to which New Zealand easily won their match. However, New Zealand had a great batting performance in today's match and their dominance was very good. New Zealand scored 255 runs today, their batting performance was good in the beginning but after losing a few wickets, their batting performance deteriorated. M Theekshana was able to bowl brilliantly today and was able to collect four wickets in his extraordinary bowling against New Zealand. Anyway, at the moment, the target given by New Zealand is 255 runs, Sri Lanka is trying to bat well to get back to parity to draw the series. The match has been reduced to 37 overs due to rain, but if Sri Lanka's batting performance is good from the start in today's match, then it may be possible to get back to parity. And if Sri Lanka's batting performance is bad in today's match and fails to meet the target given by New Zealand, then New Zealand will definitely win the series.
Pathum Nissanka, the opening batsman, has been dismissed early, so the Sri Lankan team's performance at the moment is very disappointing and their chances in today's match are very low.

New Zealand Vs Sri Lanka, 2nd ODI

Yes, New Zealand has already scored more than 250 runs, In fact, even though the overs were less due to rain, the New Zealand batsmen scored runs very quickly today. One thing every batsman in the Sri Lankan team should keep in mind today is that they will have fewer overs and more runs to take. Accordingly they should focus on scoring more runs in each over and should focus on making their innings bigger. The Sri Lankan team has already started batting and at the moment they have scored 6 runs in one over. If they bat the way they are batting now, they will need to score 6.98 runs per over, then maybe they will be able to win the second ODI against New Zealand today.

I like to treat everyone as a friend 🔹
The match between New Zealand vs Sri Lanka in the second ODI has been reduced to 37 overs due to rain. At the moment, the New Zealand team is batting and has been able to collect a great score. Moreover, since the New Zealand team has lost only one wicket at the moment and they have collected enough runs, New Zealand will collect a big score in today's match. However, the bowling performance of the Sri Lanka team is not that good, due to which the Sri Lanka team could not put pressure on the New Zealand team and could not take many wickets. The partnership of Rachin Ravindra and Mark Chapman has grown tremendously and both of them are now batting at a sky-high rate. If the Sri Lanka team cannot break the partnership of these two, then maybe the New Zealand team will be able to score 300+ runs in today's match, if New Zealand gives a huge target in today's match, then Sri Lanka will lose.

Matt Henry is bowling brilliantly these days. And his splendid form has helped New Zealand to make up for the vacuum that was created as a result of the absence of more experienced pacers such as Trent Boult, Tim Southee, Kyle Jamieson, Adam Milne and Lockie Ferguson. BTW, I am still surprised how this small country with a population of less than 5 million can produce so many quality pace bowlers. And this is not a new phenomenon. Remember Richard Hadlee? Danny Morrison was another great bowler.

I don't consider 5 million to be a small number and out of that population even if there were hundred quality pace bowlers over few decades, it's no big deal. Also, it's easier for smaller countries for to see the talent and importantly nurture it than bigger ones.

Do you really think that a small country of 5 million can effectively compete against countries such as India (1.45 billion) and Pakistan (250 million)? The player pool is very small to start with. But the advantage for New Zealand is that they have a very effective schools and universities cricket setup. And also, their first-class setup is one of the best for any country, and can compete with the county cricket of England and Sheffied Shield of Australia. On top of that, they receive a steady stream of cricket players from South Africa, England and India.

The match between New Zealand and Sri Lanka has begun. The New Zealand team has won the toss and chosen to bowl first. Sri Lanka has lost some early wickets, scoring 82/4 in 20 overs. Fernando: 36* (44) Liyanage: 28* (39) on the crease have built the partnership. The New Zealand team bowlers are good with the ball, trying to keep everything under control. Sri Lanka won the previous ODI series that took place a month back, and this time it looks like New Zealand is winning the series.
In the first ODI match of New Zealand vs Sri Lanka, Sri Lanka batting was really disappointing. The New Zealand team decided to bowl first by winning the toss and this decision was put to good use. The New Zealand bowlers bowled very aggressively from the beginning, due to which the Sri Lankan batsmen could not collect very good runs. The Sri Lankan team was bowled out for just 177 runs. The Sri Lankan batsmen should have batted more responsibly if they tried to play the whole over maybe they could have given the opposition a bigger target. Avishka Fernando scored the maximum runs for the Sri Lanka team. Avishka Fernando batted fairly well and got out for 56 runs off 63 balls. The target of 178 runs given by Sri Lanka was batted very responsibly by the New Zealand opener pair, the New Zealand team lost only one wicket to meet their target. New Zealand team won by nine wickets Congratulations to New Zealand team.
Yes, I have seen the entire game of this match, in today's match, the New Zealand team easily won the match due to the irresponsibility of the Sri Lankan team players. In today's first match of the ODI series, the Sri Lankan team players have performed so badly that it is not worth saying. In this match, the Sri Lankan team players failed in both batting and bowling. In today's match, the New Zealand team has completely dominated the Sri Lankan team. The Sri Lankan team had to end the "match" with disappointment due to the dominance of the New Zealand team throughout the match.
When the Sri Lankan team lost the T20 series against New Zealand, the Sri Lankan batsmen should have learned from their batting and bowling that if they want to win against New Zealand, they must play responsible batting and bowling, otherwise they will never win against. The performance of the Sri Lankan team in the first ODI match was really disappointing batting. The batting of Sri Lankan batsmen clearly shows that they have weakness in batting, Sri Lanka must focus on batting to win against New Zealand. If the Sri Lankan team wants to win the second ODI match, every player has to perform responsibly. The second ODI match is very important for Sri Lanka as these two teams face each other tomorrow. If Sri Lanka team wants to win against New Zealand they need to bat and bowl responsibly otherwise they will never win against New Zealand. Let's see how well they can perform in the second ODI after losing the first ODI.

New Zealand won by 9 wickets against Sri Lanka in their 1st ODI match as i predicted in my previous opinion but the fact is, it's surprising when A good team like Sri Lanka scored only 178-10 runs and lost all their wickets within 44 overs. What a pity!! I didn't expected such poor batting performance from SL team where they lost four wickets at 23-4 runs. Avishka Fernando(56) was the one who afford to scored a half century. Wanindu Hasaranga and Janith Liyanage played avarage from their position. While New Zealand bowler Matt Henry hunted four wickets alone. Apart from that, NZ did amazing beginning. Although Rachin Ravindra(45) lost wicket before done his half century and Mark Chapman(29) took his position alone with Will Young(*90) who showed legendary performance ever although i laugh, the unfortunate moment for Will Young who missed his century due to lack of lower targeted runs set by SL but it was a enjoyable moment for NZ for such amazing achievement
New Zealand will face Sri Lanka today in the second ODI match after winning the T20I series against Sri Lanka to clinch the ODI series. In the first ODI match we saw New Zealand secure a big win by 9 wickets against Sri Lanka. As New Zealand have won the first match of the three-match ODI series, if they can win today, New Zealand will have one match in hand and will be able to whitewash Sri Lanka in the third match. Since New Zealand performed well as a team in the first ODI match, we might see New Zealand fielding the unchanged XI in the second ODI match. While New Zealand's XI is unchanged, Sri Lanka's XI is likely to undergo changes. Maybe Sri Lanka can play with an extra batsman.

In the first ODI match of New Zealand vs Sri Lanka, Sri Lanka batted really very disappointingly, they should have focused more on their batting. New Zealand easily beat Sri Lanka by 9 wickets in their first ODI match. Sri Lanka performance was very disappointing scoring only 178 runs and losing all their wickets in just 44 overs. Avishka Fernando was only one who played well scoring 50 runs while Wanindu Hasaranga and Janith Liyanage played okay. Matt Henry from New Zealand took 4 wickets which helped limit Sri Lanka score. New Zealand then easily chased target. Rachin Ravindra and Mark Chapman contributed some useful runs. Unfortunately Young missed scoring 100 runs because Sri Lanka target was too low. Overall it was big win for New Zealand.
