That was obviously a great match and one of the great classics that is going to be remembered for a long time. We all know that Australia has always been one of the greatest cricketing teams in the whole world. So it is obvious that they have been producing some great players through the time and he was obviously one of them. Some unfortunate losses for Australian cricket in recent times.

Andrew Symonds was a great player and he was known for his match-winning performance. he was a really valuable player for Australia and his contribution can never be forgotten. He was the backbone of one-day international matches for Australia. he had a great career of 11 years. It is really sad to see a player die only at the age of 46.
Former star Andrew Symonds is considered to be one of the most liked. Andrew Symonds' passing is devastating news. He was one of my favorites. He played in the fifth/6th position. The Australian Cricket team of Andrew Symonds and Mitchell Clarke enjoyed a great partnership. As well as being a great all-rounder, he was also a great fielder. No disciplinary issues were reported. Enjoyed every moment I faced him, totally admire him as a cricketer, especially considering where he is from. I pray his soul rest in peace.

I also remember his match against Pakistan where he scored almost 50 runs in the 2003 world cup and Pakistan lost the match. Had he not played that innings, Pakistan could have easily won the match.

Another blow for Australians after they lost Shane Warne few weeks ago. He is one of best allrounder we have seen till date. Who can forget his innings of 143 not out against Pakistan in 2003 world cup. CA is going through a tough era, let's hope it ends soon.

I second with that - in Pakistan only one athlete participate in winter olympics. And there were 2 assistant with him, now you can realize how much interest Pakistani have in other games. Only a few people have interest in other sports. cricket is the game which can be played with least investment that is one of the reason kids play cricket and then they get interested in cricket.
You cannot compare with the amount of athletes send for winter Olympics as a benchmark because how often we have snow in these regions round the clock, only specific regions have snowfall during winter and you cannot expect athletes without opportunities. Hockey is a major sport they play and they had some legendary players and they are good at it.I second with that - in Pakistan only one athlete participate in winter olympics. In 1.3 billion people few may be interested in badminton or hockey but majority are interested in cricket only that's the prime reason BCCI has 38 domestic cricket team.. In last summer olympic, India won only one gold medal so you can easily imagine how much interest 1.3 billion have in other sports.
You can't measure the popularity of sport by looking in to the number of first class teams. In that case Australia is having only 6 first class sides, that take part in the Sheffield Shield. Now compare this with South Africa, where there are more than a dozen first class teams. But it is true that cricket is the most popular sport in South Asia (perhaps with the exception of Nepal and Bhutan). And I will not agree when you claim that popularity of cricket is the reason why South Asians are poor in other sports. Some ethnic and racial groups are superior in athletics and some others are not that good. Look at Jamaica. With a population of less than 3 million, they have won huge number of Olympic medals. And on the other side we have India. Population of 1.3 billion and in every edition of Olympics we finish behind Jamaica in terms of medal tally.
