Congratulations to Bangladesh. But at the same time, I am appalled at the horrific state of cricket in South Africa. How can they lose like this? It was a completely lopsided match, with Bangladesh winning by 9 wickets (24 overs to spare). Those who have been around for a while would remember that South Africa was the strongest cricketing nation during the 1990s. They were the favorites to win the 1999 World Cup (in which they lost the semi-finals). I guess two decades of quota policy and the installation of a quota product as the captain has completely destroyed them.
It is the worst time for South African cricket that they are losing ODI series against Bangladesh, specially losing this last ODI by 9 wickets and 24 overs spare at home is surely one of there the worst performance in recent years. We all know how strong was South Africa few years back but now suddenly just because of internal politics and decisions which are coming just because of personal egos are hurting them very badly.

Their domestic set up is also having not good system which can bring some good and quality players because recently we have mostly average players coming which are mostly coming just because of colour without any merit is also having not good impact hopefully they will take this as wake-up call and now try to settle things in positive for Test Series.

If you see performance of SA this year then it's fairly good. They levelled test series against New Zealand and wining test and odi against India. Just when we're saying that SA is regaining its lost glory this happened. Asian teams don't have good record when playing at SA but it's understandable as SA is no more strong team of 90s.
Congrats to Bangladesh, may be it's revival of cricket in Bangladesh.

I think it was all about the decision after winning the toss. The team batting first had some big disadvantages in all the matches in this series. In the 2nd ODI Bangladesh won the toss and decided to bat first and it went horribly wrong for them and the same thing happened in the 3rd ODI with South Africa.

I think I even heard  Shaun Pollock saying to the South African captain after the toss, ”you are going to bowl first right?”
But to everyone's surprise, they decided to bat first and it was a big mistake.

@blatchcorn, I really like to see that happiness from the coaching staff after the Bangladesh win. it was also a really great and iconic moment between Tamim Iqbal and the coach after the match. Bangladesh played really well and deserved the series win. I also think that Bangladesh is going to be a lot more motivated right now.

A defeat today will make matters even worse for South Africa. This is their 13th match in the ICC Men's Cricket World Cup Super League, and so far they have won just 4 of their matches (two of the matches ended as no-result). If things don't improve for South Africa, then they will end up playing the qualifying tournament in order to qualify for the 2023 ODI World Cup.
Another historic day for this struggling Bangladesh cricket history as today they win first ever ODI series at South African soil after having historic test win in New Zealand surely millions of Bangladeshi fans today feeling proud of their teams this achievement with Taskin and Tamim both were hero for this historic win 5/35 from Taskin and 2/24 from Shakib completely dismantle home team, and they have just 156 on board which was enough for visitors to have their historic win in just 27 overs with this win now Bangladesh is at top of CWC super series table and South Africa dropped to ninth place.

Well play boys, congrats to all our Bangladeshi friends at this forum and around the world for this historic win.
Moreover, A dominant Bangladesh side secure their first ever ODI series win in South Africa. Winning in a SENA country is truly an accomplishment for any Asian team. They have potential however not consistency, when they begin performing consistently they will be a competitive side in any competition against any team. The series win against South Africa on their own soil always a hard task for any team, congratulations Bangladesh team for this achievement.

Actually if we see on ODI cricket then Bangladesh isn't normal team. Because Bangladesh is good for ODI and they are trying to play well on T20 and Test format. Bangladesh team needs to perform regularly and it's a big challenge for them. Btw congratulations for a historical series win.

Australian form and quality is amazing with today's result I am feeling they will champion again without any problem because no team capable of giving them any challenge specially after very poor start from England even now they are coming back in good form and most chances they will end with third spot.

Because, Australia is already at top and South Africa is going to stay at second and England at third with West Indies and India will fight for remaining fourth spot with most chances India will qualify for semifinal as West Indies is suddenly coming down and out from this competition after having two the worst performances against Bangladesh and Pakistan even they won against Bangladesh, but this was really poor from them.

For me, it is quite obvious that Australia is going to win this tournament. they are the better team by far. in women's cricket, I think there are only two teams that are quite competitive and can give each other a good competition also. those two teams are Australia and England.

But the England team had a bad start in the season and has certainly given Australia almost a free pass, now they are quite unstoppable. I think Australia is not going to get too much trouble from the other teams.

Do anyone still have doubt on Australians winning this world cup?
Not at all - I can bet on it that Australian is going to take the women world cup home this year. They are in good form, there is an amazing spark in the team. Their performance is wonderful everytime they enter the ground and leave the ground as an winner. Hard work pays off. Aussie are putting in a lot of efforts for winning the cup!

Eight wickets already down, Bangladeshi bowlers are in such attack mode that they are not letting any runs through, while also ensuring regular wickets. With the calculated bowling, Taskin Ahmed gives minimal runs and registers 5 wickets for himself. Throughout the entire series, South Africa has been very unsettled, but Bangladesh has a well-settled side.
Firstly I thought South Africa will score above 300 runs by watching their batting style in first few overs. Then I thought South Africa won't be able to exceed 150 runs when they lost their first 6 wickets. Taskin Ahmed has showed a great bowling skill today. Bangladeshi wicketkeeper Mushfiqur Rahim has taken some great catches.

Is Bangladesh in with a chance of winning its first series in South Africa? Definitely, but it depends on Bangladesh's batters.
Yeah, it will depend on the performance of batters. I expect that Bangladesh will get their first ODI series win in South Africa today. The openers should make 70+ runs partnership to maintain the dominance. I'm not expecting to see the batting disaster like the 2nd ODI match.

Qualification based on ICC ranking is shittist rule in ICC playbook and then these nutjobs gives sermons to others, to help em with the so called spreading the game nonsense. No wonder associates nations are not progressing.

IMO WC automatic qualification should be based on only 1-2 points.

- If you're host nation.
- If you were the finalist in the last edition.

And if you don't fall in these 2 categories then simply play the qualification. This also apply to Men's cricket.

Yes and ICC knows that very well. But they don't want to spread the game worldwide, they just want to make their bank/balance bigger. And that is inevitably hurting cricket.

It absolutely doesn't make sense why a team that should have been qualified was not given the chance because their rank is not high enough. Do you think after this incident they are going to be interested in cricket anymore? I don't think so.

I really don't want to offend anyone but I have to say if it was not for the money I think Thailand would have been the team playing in the tournament instead of Pakistan.
It is obviously good for Pakistan that their women's team is getting a good amount of exposure from this tournament. And I really hope that they will be able to make it count. Otherwise, there will be a lot more talks about this same thing in the future.
You will find such shameful incidents only in cricket. In none of the other sports, deserving teams are sidelined and others are given the qualification berths just because the potential revenue can be higher. And this is not something new. Remember the ODI world cup of 2007? India and Pakistan failed to qualify from the first stage, and after that the ICC reduced the number of participating teams from 16 to 10. If revenue is the sole criteria, then why even have the world cup? We can just decide India as the champions and Pakistan as the runners up before playing even a single match.

Yes, I absolutely remember that 2007 world cup. I think because India and Pakistan both having a lot of trouble in their own country and getting a lot of hate from the fans, made the respective cricket boards appeal to the ICC that the team number should be reduced.
I mean it had to be right? Otherwise, if a sports body is always thinking about how to spread the sport worldwide, this shouldn't be an option for them.

Bangladesh must not lose this game after the hard work done by there bowler's. Taskeen Ahmed bowled perhaps the most memorable spell of Bangladesh ODI history by taking 5 wickets. 154 is a small target and should be easily chased by Bangladeshi batsmen.
Excellent bowling display that proved to be a game changer! This Bangladesh team is headed in the right direction.
Bangladesh is 155 runs away from a historic series win. It is hoped that Bangladesh will easily defeat Africa and win the series 2-1. In the event Bangladesh win this series, that will be a tremendous accomplishment for them and their cricket, especially in South Africa.

South Africa is all out for 154 and they have only played 37 overs. Taskin Ahmed got 5 wickets. The last wicket was runout and it was really unfortunate in my opinion.

Bangladesh bowlers did really well and also did not step a foot wrong except for the missed catch by Yasir Ali. Now it all depends on the Bangladesh batsman if they can win this match. I think it should be an easy total for them to chase down.

The third ODI match between Bangladesh and South Africa will be played today. In the first match, we saw the batting of the batsmen of Bangladesh. They were able to deliver a huge target and easily won the match. In the second match, Bangladesh's top order suffered a catastrophic disaster. As a result, they failed to make a big targets and were defeated.
What is the prediction about the third match? Will Bangladesh show any surprises again? Or like the second match, this match will be defeated by poor performance?

I have no confidence in the Bangladesh team. The first match surprised everyone by showing their performance. In the second match too, they surprised everyone by showing their weak batting. Their top-order batsmen played very well in the first match. But their performance in the second match was very poor. If Bangladesh's top order plays well today, they will win. Because Bangladesh's bowling lineup is stable and they are playing well enough. So winning the match will depend on the performance of their top order players.

South Africa chose to bat in the final ODI against Bangladesh. If they managed to put a good or even a decent total on the board, i am sure it will not be possible for the Bangladesh to chase that down. Quinton de Kock is out on 12 runs but Bangladesh needs to take more wickets in order to have some grip on this match.

Agree, sadly in ICC we have mostly colonial mind peoples those have no vision for this game and just going through for their own deep pockets which is hurting very badly right now just because of these peoples its popularity is not going as it needs to be even revenue is having some good positive gain, but they need to have some wholesale changes in these all formats if they still want some good gain now we're already having big challenge with franchise cricket, but they can do some better like having test cricket for only Eight teams ODI is going for twelve teams and settling T20 format for sixteen teams with all these from later formats teams need to came through qualification can make some good interest.
