South Africa scored 314 runs against Bangladesh, it surprised me. Usually, without Mirpur's pitch, we don't see the Bangladesh team perform very well. In particular, the performance of the top-order batsmen was unprecedented. After a long time, the opening two batsmen played well. At the same time Shakib's performance was outstanding. Everyone on the team played well. Now if the bowlers can play well, the victory will be easy for Bangladesh.

Bangladesh has been able to deliver a huge target. The top-order players had to perform well to win South Africa. But they lost the first wicket by collecting only 18 runs. At the end of 7 overs, they collected 31 runs, lost 1 wicket. Verreyenne and Bavuma are now at the crease. If those two batsmen can build a big partnership then maybe South Africa can win. Otherwise, Bangladesh is more likely to win.

In the men's One Day International against South Africa, Bangladesh set a reasonable target of 315. The batting performance of the Bangladesh cricket team was absolutely brilliant, especially since they got off to such a slow start. But the bowlers need to do better now. In any situation, Shakib Al Hasan's brilliant performance remains exceptional. As usual, Shakib Al Hasan contributed his team runs and brought up his fifty with a SIX. The score would have been higher if Shakib had remained, but they still managed 91 runs on the score board in the final 10 overs.

The quota system is not there for the women's team in South Africa? They are a very talented side. The only reason why the performance of South Africa has gone down is because of talented players migrating to other countries due to the quota policy. In women's cricket it is not an issue, since the salaries are low even in countries such as New Zealand and England. So if a player want to migrate to another country, she need to make sure that she gets in to the national team. Playing for one of the county sides will not provide enough funds to replace full time job.

That's true and I think it is really good that the quota system is not a problem for South African women's cricket. It was a really big problem for the men's cricket in South Africa because for this system in my opinion the South African team could not reach the full potential that they might have.

And obviously, if it migrates a player then he/she better make sure that he/she will be playing for the national team otherwise it's just not worth it.

^^ Bangladesh women lost their match against West Indies women by only four runs. I also think that West Indies are lucky in this tournament because they have won quite a lot of matches by single digit runs.

But, I have to say that Bangladesh played really badly, especially in the batting half. 140 is not a big score by any means and they could not reach it. After watching the Batsmen play I think that they are really lacking confidence. I think they have really good skills and can play very well but the way they are playing didn't look too confident to me.
What a thriller, though.
Bangladeshi women are in for a tough time. The only thing they need to do is fight to the end, but pressure creates ridiculous scenarios. Nahida shouldn't have taken the single in the last over, an unneeded move that led them to lose in close quarters. They are playing better cricket than Pakistan so far despite competing for the first time in the ODI world cup. Excellent performance. I hope the momentum continues.

What happened to Connell in the match between Bangladesh and west indies in women's world cup. She felt down while dottin was bowling to Nahida Aktar and I can see ambulance being called too now. Let's hope everything is ok ?
Bangladesh need just 13 runs now but the probelm is that they are nine down and one more wicket means a loss for them.

Edit:  Bangladesh lost the match. WI wins.

It was a really moderate score of 140 and Bangladesh really played badly and failed to reach the total. But, I have to say that the West Indies team is really lucky in this tournament because they seem to be winning by runs of single-digit a lot.

It should have been really easy for Bangladesh. Nahida Akter tried to hold on and play from one side of the wicket but on the other side, the Bangladesh Batmen could not do much.

Still no info about the injury though.

Good news for WIndies is that they have won the match and Connell  is 'stable' after scary on-field collapse in World Cup thriller.. It was a small total and Bangladesh must have won this match easily but they were al out in 49.3 overs at 136. WIndies after this win are now at number 3 position on points table ahead of NZ who are at number 5th position.
This WC has introduced news teams and Aus, NZ and England are no more ruler of women cricket.

There are dual policies for men and women cricket. BCCI who is arrogant enough and doesn't allow its men to take part in other leagues has no objection in his women cricketers to play WBBL or other leagues. SA board policy you just highlighted.
Meanwhile Bangladesh women are looking to register there second win of the tournament against mighty WI, as they need 56 runs in 18 overs.

SA-W is most underrated team before this WC. They have played 4 matches so far and yet to lose any match. While NZ and England who were hot favorite have not an ideal tournament so far. In my view Aus along with WI and SA are three strong candidate for the semis.
Even i do accept that South African woman were underrated before the world cup started. They won many matches chasing and those chases looked really close but they always end up winning and i just checked their record chasing and they have won 13 out of 15 matches chasing and one ended in a no result and another tie which is a great record chasing down victories and if i knew this stats earlier i would have bet on them Cheesy.

South African are giving one off their best performance in this event and now these ladies are at top with Australia having 4 wins from 4 matches which mean now two teams are already in last four with this performance, and we have some good fight for remaining 2 spots and teams are four like West Indies, India, New Zealand and England from these I have feeling England and India can qualify but outside West Indies is also in good shape and have chance with most chances home team New Zealand can face early elimination after losing matches against South Africa, West Indies and Australia.

England is also lost 3 early matches now win against India and two easy matches Bangladesh and Pakistan are still in their hands, so it's very interesting situation for remaining teams in this event.

You know, Indian women's team has improved a lot. It's a shame that the BCCI is not concentrating on women's cricket in India. If they were properly nurtured they would have achieved a lot more.

BCCI has been saying that there will be a proper setup for women's cricket in India but they haven't taken any steps for us to believe that. And England is obviously one of the best cricket teams in women's cricket. They along with Australian women are the best women's team in the world at the moment. No one really expected them to start in such away.

Vaccinized.. immunity level is full.
This is the first England win in their total of four matches played. They have only won a single match and i find their chances very slim of winning all the remaining matches. Today's match was a disappointment for the Indian team as they fail to make any fight in the match. 134 all out was never going to be defended.
First of all England is one of the strongest teams as far as women's cricket is considered. I am happy that they are back to the winning ways. Now coming to the Indian women's team, it is a bit too much to expect from them. They don't even have a proper domestic setup at home. The BCCI has refused to setup a franchise T20 league for them, and has instead shamelessly asked the players to gain experience by participating in the foreign franchise leagues such as the WBBL and the Women's Hundred. Indians should be proud of whatever they have achieved so far.

That's very unfortunate that world's filthy rich board is not willing to invest penny from his own pocket for promotion of women cricket. Even then I would say Indian women have so far done quite a decent job in there first 3 matches. Against England we were hoping that India will win since they have lost all there games.
Right now NZ-W and SA-W are playing against each other. NZ-W are 185/4 in 39 overs. I guess they will give target around 260.

I think it’s fair to say that England women team dominated the Indian women team right from the start till the very end, and honestly I felt that team India could have performed much better. Lastly @blatchcorn you’re right England women team needed this win badly, and maybe it’ll revitalise their tournament because so far they had been underperforming in their previous matches.

Yew England are back in this tournament upto some extent. To make it to semis they have to win all remaining matches along with good RR.
Indian Women have scored good runs against WI, NZ and Pakistan,  no one was expecting such poor show against England who have lost all there games in this tournament.

That was a good win for England-Women after losing three of there opening games. Indian-Women just made 134 runs in in 36.2 over, nothing noticable in there batting, Smriti Mandhana was top scorer with 35 runs. From England side Charlie Dean took 4 wickets in 8 overs and was also women of the match. England lost 6 wickets to chase this small total of 134 runs.

I was completely amazed by the performance of the Indian women's team. India managed to score only 134 runs. I don't think they will lose all their wickets in such a short run. In the previous match against West Indies, India Women's are managed to collect 317 runs.
The next match of the Indian women's team is against Australia. Australia is a very strong team. The idea is that the Indian women's team will lose this match as usual.

The Indian women's batting card is a really sorry-looking one. They had no big partnership throughout the whole innings and lost wickets at regular intervals.

India did score a lot more runs against the West Indies but I think we have to realise that England is a far better team than the West indies. England just played badly in this tournament. But in this match, the target for England was really small and they were not going to miss out on it. The next match is against Australia and it will be a much harder match for India to win.
