It might be rewarding to stick through this and get the Bitfury chips on our products. That would result in a better hash rate correct?

Glad to hear it!  Looking forward to receiving my K-64s and hearing about some new non-Avalon based product offerings...

If terrahash can ride this out, I hope they would offer another closed order opportunity to the initial group in here, regardless of whether or not they cancelled, refunded or whatever that folks felt they had to do. But "only" once they have more than enough chips in hand. Which in the beginning that was going to be their policy, no preorders and go on sale only when they had a product ready to ship. Im not sure where when and why they decided to deviate from that business plan, but would have been wise to have stuck to it. Of course, hind sight is always 20/20. We all have made decisions that turned out not to be the best. When I first started hunting for an asic miner, I had no clue nor had I ever heard of yifu and his associates. I only trusted that when I chose Terrahash, that they had all their ducks in a row, as all of us did and had confidence when ordering. I do wish the best for them (TH) and want them to know I will still be a future customer as I am sure many in here would definitely be also, once they can get the ball rolling. And who knows, the chips may come this week! lets hope so. Smiley

It would be nice if Terrahash would respond to the flood of refund requests. The lack of any response makes me question the viability of their business.

If they lose simply don't respond to paypal and credit card disputes, they will lose the ability to acquire new funds via Paypal which will severely limit their ability to get future orders.

There's nothing they can do, not responding and losing is the same as responding and losing.
PayPal and the Credit Card companies always side with the purchaser unless there is a tracking number.
Terrahash would be wasting time replying to all the "Claims" from the Credit card and Paypal, however they should respond to their own tickets (maybe some damage control).
But at this point I think they have bigger worries as they now try to balance refunds with current inventory and Purchase orders set for the future.

Lack of communication will have huge impact on the future of TerraHash itself.
Albeit late delivery of chips is not directly his fault, if TerraHash continues being silent then he will share the outcome of the situation in broader spectrum.

It would be perfect if he could respond to all tickets, but if he is unable to, then updates on taken actions would do for now.

I would like to know for example if he is aware of trade-in/refund possibility with Avalon.
I would like to know how is he going to process those refunds.
Maybe we can chose to switch to 55nm chip. Or he is investigating into this.

Or maybe he has to deal with banks now and won't be able to do anything else.

If avalon is actually sending out 4-5 10k orders a day, it shouldnt take too long to get the first batch.

I believe the concern right now is the validity of the statement on those shipments, as there have been many excuses and promises that turned out false in the past.

Also, when the chips all hit the ground, the race begins, and that's when things will go absolutely nuts here. If there is any delay, once the chips arrive, this thread will blow up quickly and people will have pitchforks quickly, as a lot of time has passed, and reassurances have been given that things are ready to go. As long as TH has everything in place as stated, it's possible that people have their miner in 5-6 weeks, but I believe there are a few unanswered questions remaining, that maybe I missed, but that should have been answered by now:

1). What are the details of the hosting service? The quiet period would have been a perfect time to spell this out in a more formal fashion.
2). When will details be released on local pickups? Are pickups at the office?

The more I put thought into things, the more concern I have, which obviously I no longer have vested interest with my recent refund, but I do still have interest on how this plays out. It's kind of like when you're watching the Superbowl, and your team is down by 42 points with 5 minutes left in the 4th quarter (Sorry for those outside the US, but just substitute a "real" football game during the world cup), you still watch to see the final result. I'll do my best to not be overly critical, but I believe even the biggest supporter has to have some doubt that revolves around this whole thing, not just related to the chip issues. 80% of the issues are not TH's fault at this very moment, but with chips expected to be delivered in less than a month, I would expect a lot more formal details on the gameplan, considering it isn't a guarded secret anymore for someone to ramp up their own operation and steal their business.

Thank you for at least making this concession. I do also agree that at this point, responding to refunds isn't going to help them out at all, but responding to general tickets after the pre-orders were made would have been a very wise thing to do.

I believe we'll see the pre-orders open up again shortly, as TH uses the same methodology that they used when Cloudhashing pulled their order. Again though, stuck in a situation, I'm not sure if they could do it without lowering prices, and while it would tick off current pre-order holders, that might be the only way to proceed.

As I mentioned before, the people posting about refunds here, is not as great as the number truly is, I've had many people PM me here regarding refunds that never posted about them here.

A better strategy for them to follow would be to offer those that pre-ordered, a lower price, and at the same time, open up the orders at the normal price, to see if a few people bite. I still see people overpaying on Ebay, and plenty of people are still buying USB miners, which even at $40 are overpriced at the current market projection. Everyone can just hope the price goes up for Bitcoin, and the prospectors are rewarded.

Cancelled my order and filed claim with my CC company. It was a nice dream while it lasted.  Maybe I'll consider one of the 2nd gen miners when they come out late this year...

Sad to admit it but I did the same on 8/8 - still shows as pending with Amex as they investigate - but if the lack of response from TH to my inquiries is any indication, I expect Amex to favor on my behalf.

http://www.avalon-asics.com/

On updated page:
"(..)In addition, the trade-in and refunds are being processed."

Hope terrahash is monitoring the situation and can request a refund for those who doesn't want boards anymore, _before_ those chips are sent from bitsyncom.
Or propose an upgrade, since 55nm might fit into same boards. It was stated that second type chips are almost identical in avalon's post.
New chips might solve the problem.

Don't know why terrahash isn't communicating on this.

This is cool,,,I was wondering when someone would build something like this,,,,I really thought that AMD Radeon would be the first,,unfortunately, it was BFL Sad 600G/hash  wow...asics are going to become so powerfull and competitive that only a few and the strong with deep pockets will survive and be doing all the mining. everyone else will be left with table scraps, pocket change at best. Even if you have 60 g/h now,,,it wont go but so far, for so long anyways.

Joe,
I think an apology is in order!

Yes I am sorry you are a dipshit.

I am out not because of lack of faith in Terrahash, they got fucked by the folks who didn't deliver their chips.

So me being out is a vote of NO CONFIDENCE in Avalon being able to deliver any time soon.

As I recall your whining and gnashing of teeth was all about "it's a scam" "I want to see proof of this and that"
"they haven't replied to anything, they made off with our money"

I still believe none of that.
