Joe,
I think an apology is in order!

Yes I am sorry you are a dipshit.

I am out not because of lack of faith in Terrahash, they got fucked by the folks who didn't deliver their chips.

So me being out is a vote of NO CONFIDENCE in Avalon being able to deliver any time soon.

As I recall your whining and gnashing of teeth was all about "it's a scam" "I want to see proof of this and that"
"they haven't replied to anything, they made off with our money"

I still believe none of that.

terrahash, did you select DHL shipping? If so, you can see if any Avalon orders are incoming...

If you have a direct order with Avalon via DHL and want to check to see if your chips have shipped, call DHL at 1 (800) 225-5345  and give them your name and address and ask if there are any shipments on route in your name. Works like a charm

story so far - 8/19

chips have arrived via other routes as previously announced, we are shipping them out at the rate of 40-50k on a daily basis at the moment, in addition to the ~150k or so that went out, another 40k was shipped today. There is multiple channel which the chips are arriving from various packaging facility to minimize downtime. Please bare this in mind: while we had backup/multiple packaging companies and various delivery routes, things still will go wrong. There is also testing that must be done, then they can split, packed and sent to the EZP coupled with their CN-22 and be on their way. We will provide more update as they come. In addition, the trade-in and refunds are being processed.

I'll believe it if/when people start receiving chips.
If it's actually true, then it figures the news would come after I committed to getting out lol
But as I said before, I've made my choice and I'll stick with it and live with it

I believe you made the wise choice, let's say TH get their chips in the next 3 weeks, then they have another 3 weeks to get them all out the door (absolute best case scenario) in 6 weeks your ROI is impossible. You are actually ahead of the curve on the flood of refund requests that will be coming in the next 3 weeks.

P.S. i am out too Smiley

Your right I apologies.  What I meant to say is I hope you receive what you ordered on time.

TAKE NOTE! Abandon this crap.

Not sure why that's necessary. Between the increasing difficulty, lack of information on chips, there are plenty of things to consider when looking to back out of this. Obviously, the one saving grace could be an increase in value of BTC. While this might be a bit of a stretch, people mined Bitcoins for little profit for a long time in the beginning, and they were rewarded. Do I really believe it could happen again? I'm not convinced it could, but the unexpected often happens.

The comment you made just does nothing but tick off those that are "stuck" in this purchase without an option to back out at this point.

I do wish a serious conversation could be had about why TH ignores all tickets. I mean, I get the refund issue, they are really stuck with that one, but even to respond with a: "We're sorry, our refund policy as of June xx, was to not issue refunds", however they don't even do that. Maybe legally, that's what they are being told to do, as being based in the US, especially CA, there are a bunch of things that could cause them grief if they documented their stance further than what they posted on their site.

But what about the more simple requests, such as address change, questions about ownership transfer, or status issues? Why would TH choose not to respond at all to those? It makes little sense to me. Being busy is one possibility, but has anyone actually heard back from opening a ticket and not having to stalk them by calling 100 times or showing up to their door?

Also, the fact that they threatened someone when they first did a Paypal chargeback (not me, as I heard nothing, but as mentioned I did cancel it on my own, only later to file a chargeback with my CC this past week) didn't sit very well with me. I imagine pre-orders will open again to pick up the charged back orders (there are a lot more than the ones posted here), but if things stay the same with the ROI, I wonder how many will be lining up for new orders at the same price. Then if they lower the price, they piss everyone else off. It's a tough spot, but such is the risk of starting a business, especially with other people's money.

Well, I'm out.  I've had no response to my cancellation request since 8/13/13, not even one telling me to FOAD, so I made the decision to commit and filed a dispute with my CC bank due to merchant's lack of ability to deliver merchandise or provide even an estimate of when they will be able to.

I'm sure some will think I'm a rotten person for it, and that's their opinion.  The truth of the matter is, while I recognize that TH isn't the root cause of the problem here, I don't believe I'll ever see my merchandise so I will fight for my money back and let TH go after Bitsyncom for their losses.  For better or worse this is the way the civil legal system for disputes is designed to work in the US.

Sure, I could wait for TH to go after Bitsyncom first, but I see 2 problems with that.  First, I run the risk of the statute of limitations passing; Second, even if TH sued Bitsyncom and won (since I don't believe for one second that they'll refund money willingly) they will have spent a lot of money on legal costs and they still would have to try to actually collect on that judgment.  That whole process could take years and we still would likely only get partial refunds, which would (legally speaking) still leave TH on the hook for the balance - but by then the statute of limitations for a small claims suit would be past and there would be no legal recourse to force them to pay it.

So to all who are sticking it out - I hope it works out for you some way somehow.  Good luck to you, you have hardier stomachs than I do; and if you're further down than very low 600s in the orders in the queue, you should be raising up one, unless for some strange reason my bank decides to deny my dispute.

I have requested a refund for close to 30k of hardware from Terrahash, I urge everyone to do the same.

FUKT,
Your orders were cancelled the first week after June 18th because of non-payment. As far as I can recall, you were trying to sell your positions in the order queue for a decent price. No one bought them, and TH cancelled your order numbers since no payment had been made. Did you have other orders that weren't listed on Cryptoin's database? If not, I don't think its fair to newer people here to make it sound like you have just decided to cancel 30k of your orders. Those orders never took place because there was no payment made.

According to this spread sheet list he cancelled long ago.

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0AiyRS_8Y_814dGM0cU5KdFJTVlpWeG9LSDJKYnNmMkE#gid=5

So he either.

Changed his mind about a refund and is now changing back to refund.

Never paid.   Huh

He can't get a refund because he paid with another method besides PayPal CC.  Bitcoin would be the worst.

^^^ True about the spreadsheet, but bear in mind I have multiple accounts (terrahash) for group buys and other reasons.

Since Terrahash stated they might be using Bitfury's chips, i would not mind them doing something like a trade in value.. Where we trade in our current order and use that to fund the development of the bitfury boards and chips..

I mean seriously at this point the order i have with Terrahash, will never make ROI. I Just dont see the point.
Not very likely, maybe a more cheap offer to us on BF miners the most I expect..

Terrahash isn't stupid,

If it is within their budget and power to provide their current customers a good deal on future products I'm sure they wouldn't hesitate.
I really look forward to it...

I'm still not convinced that Terrahash purchases are a sure loser assuming they ship in the next four weeks so folks need to stop freaking out and put things in perspective.

For example, if you bought a K64, and overclock each chip to 350 MHz, you're looking at ~$40 / GHs. For comparison purposes, I don't see anything that can be ordered right now and will ship in September for that price.

KncMiner purchasers can expect an optimistic October delivery. BitFury purchasers are also looking at an October delivery. AsicMiner products are still priced at around $100 / GHs. Who knows when CoinTerra and Hashfast will deliver. New BFL orders are looking at a 2014 delivery date... :-)

It's very unfortunate, but with the exception of AsicMiner and they more than make up for it with the price they charge, almost all ASIC pre-orders are delivered late.

I assume that Terrahash also has some leeway to ease the late delivery and stop mass refund requests by either offering buyers more a higher hashrate than they purchased, a discount on future orders, or offering free overnight shipping.

Terrahash can build 156 K64s out of a 10k chip order, which will bring in at over $140k not counting folks who also purchased complete miners with cases (those should have higher margins). So, we can assume that Terrahash spent less than half of what they brought in on Avalon chips, so they certainly have room to sweeten the deal a bit for the delivery delay...

Bear in mind they also have the cost of overheads growing day, by day, whilst they wait needlessly. Not huge in the scheme of things, but significant enough to take into account.

Good point, and also bear in mind that KncMiner, HashFast, and CoinTerra have not even demonstrated a hashing Asic chip yet, so keep that in mind when looking at their promised delivery dates...

Don't forget the other 600,000 chips that are likely to be used. That alone will leap frog difficulty in addition to those companies whether they come out with chips or not.

Which is 210 Terahashes if ALL of them are running at 350MH.

I don't expect all of them to run at 350MH nor do I expect all of them will be running.

But either way, that's >150TH added regardless

gets more and more depressing... should just sell my K64 and K16 and use the money to take a vacation..sigh

Not for the DIY community that purchased chips, not for Terrahash, or AlphaHPC, or LSD, or BitCentury, or BKKCoins, or Burnin, or any of the others..  Yifu screwed us all bigtime.

While I didn't touch avalon chips, i feel for those going through this mess.   really sucks.

So pretty much we're DOA?

Just keep the hope alive that BTC keeps climbing.

Something tells me its not going to end well.
