The advance chips are pretty good evidence for at least one order in my book. But I'm just not convinced the ROI is there, especially with Bitfury and KnC looming and looking more legit. Considering the DX's, the hash/USD is worse than BFL. Timing will be critical, will have to get most of the ROI quickly and then grind out the rest as the difficulty continues jumping. In the end, we all vote with our wallets and bank accounts. If they don't get the orders they need, Terrahash will lower their prices.

I agree. How many people have received the sample chips? The fact that TerraHash has shown the sample chips is more than enough to prove that they have ordered the chips, and are one of the first to order. Those who want to wait for evidence are more than welcome to do so. They are the ones who are gonna lose out.

KnC looking more legit than TerraHash? You gotta be kidding me. Do they have an office? What's their address? Why are they hiding behind a website?

Erm...it's in Sweden. I've been there, and documented the entire thing with photos and video. So he's not kidding you.

For the record I like the look of Terrahash, and have done for a while, but Stockholm is closer for me.

By all means Terrahash, if you care to treat me to an all expenses trip to LA? I'm more than happy to oblige a report...Wink

Perhaps this is evidence of a KnC conspiracy?    Wink

How many people have received sample chips?      Dunno.
Proof that they ordered?          Perhaps.
One of the first?         That's a reach.  How do you come to that conclusion?

Ok. so as in regards to pricing:

I am assuming that when they laid out their initial pricing the bitcoin price was about $150 USD, now that they have watched the price per BTC slide as we have been salivating over the increasing deal, they have been worried. so I am confident that the switch from BTC to USD was a financial one. With that said I am sure TH paid more in dollars for their first order of chips than they will for their second order. So when we calculate their cost of materials one must use the cost of the chips at the time of order not the cost today.
I for one will be using BTC for the 5% tomorrow.

Looking at the photo and assuming the board is exactly 10cm X 10cm
and assuming that the chips are mounted the same distance apart left to right as front to back,
a heat sink that is 2.5cm by 2.5cm with a hole drilled in the middle should cover all four chips.

Worst case you get a heat sink that is 2.5cm x  X long and cut your own to length.

I wonder if the same measurement would apply to the 18ghs board?  I guess we will see it eventually

My measurements are an ESTIMATE only. Please don't go buying heatsinks based on my estimate Smiley

Maybe someone from terrahash could give us an accurate measurement?

these are Klondike boards. Look in that thread under custom hardware.

How would you checkout in bitcoins?
or would a split payment be available (50/50%?)

Question from noob:
I have not been on the forum long enough to post a question in the terrahash thread.  Would you be willing to ask how they will handle the paypal $10K limit per transaction?  They may answer my question if they answer yours about split payments.  Thanks!

Is the K64 module board available for pre-order tommorrow morning as well? I understand K64 is just K16x4, but the pricing looks quite different as of right now:

1x K64 module w/o chip: $250
4x K16 module w/o chip: $90 x 4 = $360

Thanks.
