Terrahash:

Seems like there are still a lot of outstanding issues/questions:

Perhaps I can summarize them and you can answer them all in one message?

1. Are you providing heatsinks on the finished boards?

2. if not can you provide measurements for a heatsink that would cover 4 chips on the K16?

3. Are you still planning to start pre-orders tomorrow without a working prototype?

4. Are you still planning to provide a copy of your chip order today as you mentioned?

5. When do you expect to have a working protoype to show mining?  K16 and K64?

1. Yes, the boards will come with heatsinks.

3. Yes.

4. Yes.

5. Within 2 weeks. K64 is nothing but 4 K16s on the same board, daisy chained together.

THANKS X 4 !!!

Looking at the photo and assuming the board is exactly 10cm X 10cm
and assuming that the chips are mounted the same distance apart left to right as front to back,
a heat sink that is 2.5cm by 2.5cm with a hole drilled in the middle should cover all four chips.

Worst case you get a heat sink that is 2.5cm x  X long and cut your own to length.

I wonder if the same measurement would apply to the 18ghs board?  I guess we will see it eventually

My measurements are an ESTIMATE only. Please don't go buying heatsinks based on my estimate Smiley

Maybe someone from terrahash could give us an accurate measurement?

terrahash, do the modular boards ship with heatsinks?

This is all I want to know, have been waiting since Friday just to hear a yes/no.  This is going to be critical info so I hope we can find out today.

Do your search!
Hope they will keep what they claimed.

Any update or responses to some of the posts and questions?  A lot of us are watching this very closely, this is a race, and Steamboat seems to be winning.

Updated the website with our office address. Final moving in tomorrow. Anybody who wants to come visit can call us for an appointment.

We are still deciding whether to accept Paypal/CC/Bank Transfers.

The modular boards, even if ordered without a case, will come with heatsinks.

The DX Mini supports 20 K16s, not 10.

Thank you, newmars, I missed that.

It would be much easier to find if they added that information to the modular board product description on their website.

Well when you look at the photo of the board, a simple square heat sink that could cover all four chips with a hole drilled in the middle with a single screw should work really well. Just don't over tighten it and you should be fine

So this would imply that the heatsink is not included, but is a simple and readily available type?  I did look at the board and that is what confused me, because I have built many computers/racks/nodes in my day but haven't ever seen a heatsink with one hole like that.

So if the 18ghs board has 64 chips, I will need to get 16 heatsinks for it? Should they be 4 or 5cm square?  Or will they indeed be included?

newmars, I did see that, but also noticed that I am not the only one wanting to verify a yes/no on it before placing my order.  Just wanting to make sure I will be ready to plug it in when it arrives and not a week later because I forgot to order heatsinks   Cheesy

So many opinions... Can we still pay by a standard BTC transaction? If yes, what exchange rates are valid?

Why is this so critical?

Heat sinks are cheap and easy to add. If they don't include heat sinks will you not place an order?

I was under the impression that these would require a custom fit heatsink, not one you could just grab off the shelf.  If it's the former then I would, at the very least, need to research a source/price/availability on the heatsink and that may delay my order, which in turn may lead to waiting on another company.  If it's the latter then you're right, it doesn't really matter.

Either way, at the price we will be paying for these I will be slightly disappointed if that doesn't include something as cheap as a heatsink, even if I have to screw it on myself.  Grin
